Hey, I watched that! I'll make an actual post eventually, but basically, the way everyone hyped the second season super hard made me think the first season wasn't that good, and I really think they're pretty much the same quality-wise. The big difference is that S1 seemed pretty focused on one plot--even those episodes that focused on Matt or Nora connected pretty easily to the overall flow--and season 2 has a lot more going on,which to me, made its quality come in leaps and bounds. The Garvey's are hardly even in the first episode at all, which is unacceptable because Justin Theroux is my personal Jon Hamm.

Justin Theroux being hot is so weird to me because of how geeky he was in Six Feet Under

and how weird he was in Mulholland Drive

Hot (and almost always pissed off except when he's being charming and cute with Nora) Justin Theroux might be my favorite Justin Theroux though. Should've known there was major bulge potential though from back when:

I finished season 2

As a whole, I preferred season 1 (it sounds like I may be the only person on the planet who thought this), but the second half of season 2 was awesome. Now I might watch something else. Might go with Scandal. Might do something else. Might do nothing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, I think I liked S1 more overall too, but don't tell Reddit or they'll kill us. S2's best moments were probably better than S1's though. It doesn't help that S2E1 is easily my least favorite episode of the show, and I didn't really care for the Matt episode in S2.

I looked over the "least" and was kinda surprised. Then I saw it and I kind of agree. Wasn't a fan of the Murphys early on. I don't think it was until "Lens" (which I think might have been the best episode of the show) that I started to enjoy them. Agreed about the Matt episode. It seemed like they were a little focused on "LOOK WE'RE COMPARING HIM TO JOB" and less about anything relevant to the rest of the story. His episode in the first season (along with being really good) was certainly more important/had a better reason for existing.

The only part I'll disagree with you on re: best of second season being better than the best of the first season is that I thought the Patti scenes in the cabin were the best. Also a few random other scenes. But yeah, that stretch of "Lens" to "International Assassin" was pretty great.

The X-Files -- I don't remember the last season I posted about, but I'm on season 8 now. The last few seasons have been really good though -- not that the early ones weren't, but I'm just surprised at how consistently good this show is, considering how long it is. In most shows, I get kind of annoyed by monster-of-the-week episodes because they feel like filler, but they're just so good here. Also, Doggett's cool, he's not ruining the show like I expected. But losing the beautiful Mulder/Scully chemistry (read: ship) is sad.

The Walking Dead (season 6 part 1) -- Good stuff (except for the really annoying stuff). Looking forward to Negan. Carol is still bae.

Arrow (season 4 part 1) -- Huge improvement over season 3. I'm glad they're lightening up the show. It still feels very Batman-esque (especially a spoilery thing in the midseason premiere) but the show's better when it doesn't take itself too seriously.

The Flash (season 2 part 1) -- Hella good. They're going all-out with comic book stuff (parallel universes, mutant gorillas, shark-men, and more!). But the CW's influence is more annoying here than on Arrow. There's like, two romantic relationships going on, and one was going somewhere, but they just did a thing and now I'm not sure what their plans are. But this show's romances just always feel disconnected from everything else that the characters are involved with. It's like they came out of other shows or something.

Parks and Recreation (season 1, part of 2) -- I only started watching this show for Chris Pratt and I'm only staying because of Chris Pratt (and Aubrey Plaza).

Current TV plans: Staying up-to-date with superhero shows, so three a week for now (Arrow/Flash/Legends of Tomorrow), and four once SHIELD comes back. And by then, TWD will have come back. And soon after, Orphan Black, GoT, and Silicon Valley.

I liked the first two seasons, but yeah, the show really gets amazing once Rob Lowe and Adam Scott join in season three and onward. Wasn't big on the final season though. It did have one really good ep, and the finale was a nice ending but overall, if felt completely unnecessary.

Shouldn't have begun watching Making a Murderer cuz now I hate everyone.

Fortunately in order to lighten things up a bit, after finishing that I'll probably power through the rest of The Walking Dead and start The Sopranos since I have HBO Go.

In news totally unrelated to #OscarsSoWhite, the new Jack Bauer is black: http://tvline.com/2016/01/25/24-legacy-corey-hawkins-fox-cast/

Although I guess it's not too unusual for this show, since they always had a bunch of not-white non-criminal people, even presidents. Still, good for him.
