Boo! Bring back the N64 Ray Gun!
Nah, but it looks cool. Interesting idea with the stamp stuff as well.

Can't wait to get this one for Wii U. Hopefully it just a wee but more refined and balanced than Brawl was.

I'm hoping for it to be more competitive like Melee while still accessible like Brawl. I can't see them putting too much emphasis on character balance as much as they will on mechanic balance which I'm personally okay with. A lot of character balance comes down to fighter matchup anyway is nigh on impossible to balance.

I just didn't have as much fun with Brawl as I did with Melee.

I think a lot of people feel that way. I feel part of it is because people spent less time playing with siblings or whatever after they'd grown up or that gaming shifted to a more online focus, but Brawl is much less defined and complete than Melee is despite the clones.

I feel the same way about Brawl, maybe because I was older?

New stage revealed

It's a stage based on the Find Mii minigame on StreetPass for the 3DS. It features the Dark Emperor.

There's no good shots of the stage itself, but the inclusion of the Dark Emperor has me wondering. Since we have Dark Emperor, Yellow Devil, and possibly Ridley appearing on several stages, it makes me think that boss fights are returning in some fashion. I wonder how that's gonna work.

Also relevant to this thread is the imminent release of Project M.

It's basically a hack to make Brawl into Melee's mechanics but with the entire cast of Brawl plus Mewtwo and Roy back in. I personally can't wait! Hacking your Wii takes no time at all and is really safe, but I'd only really recommend it if you had people to play with.

First assist trophy announced!

The Skull Kid from Majora's Mask makes his SSB debut as an assist trophy! That makes the first officially confirmed assist trophy for SSB4.

Presumably he'll make the moon crash into the stage or something like that, but no official word has been given yet.

Not confirmed Assist Trophy, mind you, but almost certainly will be one.

Pic of the day. Here's a new Assist Trophy--the Skull Kid! I repeat, it's an Assist Trophy, not a new fighter. The characters announced on the website are the fighters!

New item announced!

Pic of the day. Q: "Is this a Steel Diver?" A: "Yes, indeed, that is a Steel Diver." The sub from Steel Diver is now a cute projectile weapon--it launches torpedoes that fly slowly at first.

Looks pretty cool. I imagine it'll feel a lot like the ray gun, but with better knockback potential. No idea what Steel Diver is, though, so off to Wikipedia I go.

It looks like Wuhu Island in the background. Had that been showed before?
