So, dwest and I briefly talked about this, but would anyone be interested in running some sort of tabletop RPG? The only thing we would really need is roll20, a few hours here and there, and someone to DM. As for games to play, I have a metric fuckton of the Star Wars RPGs, and there's a slew of free games out there. So, anyone interested? |

I'm interested! I tried out Roll20 with a couple friends a few weeks ago. It was our first time on it and we didn't watch the introductory videos because we figured we'd do that on our own time, so we had no idea what we were doing at all. BUT I've heard it's very flexible and works great, so I'll probably watch those videos sometime. Anyway yeah I'm definitely interested. |

I've seen a few series on youtube that use it, namely the Rollplay series by itmeJP. The Dark Heresy one in particular was the one that got me wanting to play a tabletop to begin with. |

I'd totally be down with doing tabletop stuff. Been wanting to get into more of them, but I have no one to play with. |

This sounds kind of cool. I've always been curious about D&D, but never had the chance to try it out. |

I played a starter kit version of D&D once. We were split up a little bit (2 went one way, I went the other way) but then the 2 found a dragon, so I ran back over to them, and we talked to the dragon for a while but eventually it got angry and killed us. We haven't played since then because the DM for that session wants to be the DM for the next one and he hasn't set up anything else for us to try yet. EDIT: Had this post typed out and then didn't post it for a few hours. Anyway, I've never DM'd before and don't know how Roll20 works, BUT I'd love to learn how to do both DM'ing and Roll20'ing, so if no one else wants to, I might be able to. Do DM's usually find pre-made dungeons and quests and that kinda stuff, or do they make them? Edited by Snowman, Jul 12 2014, 08:54 PM.

They can do either, I believe. When I used to play the DM would make up their own maps with everything but I have to imagine you can find maps online with locations of enemies/treasures/whatever. |

I'd be down, but feel my fiance would crucify me if I played d&d without her and not so sure if she'd want to play, although it might be possible because we haven't played with anyone in months. |

I could potentially have an IRL buddy that could DM, he is, in theory, the DM for my game group, but, like I said, we have yet to get together, so I might suggest the idea that he DM this group, if nothing else. |

So how would this work? Do we play it all live and just talk over skype/raidcall like we do with Minecraft? |

That's pretty much how it works. It's a sort of virtual tabletop, one that can be as big as you want for the cross-country and cross-continental among us. Fun fact, Paal, the guy I have in mind is John, the guy we played Monobattles with that one time. |

Doesn't Roll 20 have a built in video chat? I've only kinda looked at it once, so I'm not too familiar with it. Also DMing seemed hard af on it |
