It's that glorious time of the year once again, where we find out what's coming out this year/2016 (or gets delayed into 2017, because of course), see a bunch of trailers for games that overhype and underdeliver, cackle at how shitty this industry is, and drink tons of vodka to forget the pa- Wait, you mean that's just me? Jokes aside, I do look forward to E3 this year. We have three newcomers to the big stage, all of whom have things I want to see/might reveal things I want to see. I expect many of us look forward to at least one of these presentations as well. I refer to Bethesda, Square Enix, and the PC Gaming show, in order of their presentations. Anyway, here's the schedule. http://www.ign.com/wikis/e3/E3_2015_Live_Streams_and_Press_Conferences I'm just happy Bethesda's conference doesn't interfere with the Game of Thrones season finale. It might interfere with LSU baseball, idk, but in that case I have an interesting choice to make. I'd probably pick this though; LSU has more baseball to play and much of the chat will be watching that conference. Also, Tuesday looks more interesting than it's been in past years, in no small part thanks to two extra press conferences. Nintendo always delivers, but it's nice to see others showing stuff off on Tuesday because yay more good video games. Y'all know what to do: Get hype, post about what you hope to see, heckle the major publishers, laugh at shitty trailers/awkward pressers, the usual stuff we do whenever someone in video games announces something. Should be a blast. |

I've never been more ready for no video games Realistically, y'all know I'm about that Nintendo life and I'm really not sure what they want to show right now. Starfox and...? Interested to see the followups to those Xbone games we saw briefly last year in CGI trailers but no more like Crackdown, that Platinum game and that game with shadows and shit idk names man. I just want games, man. Games that give me faith in this industry again. So that is to say I'm ready to cry. |

*waits patiently for FFXV PC port announcement, with references to learning from their experience with porting XIII so that they can deliver a superior port this time* |

Things I realistically expect: Yoshi's Woolly World release date Xenoblade Chronicles X footage, possibly a release date Fire Emblem If stuff Fallout 4 gameplay footage No Man's Sky More Smash DLC I guess Things I hope for but are probably pie-in-the-sky: The Elder Scrolls VI Persona 5 footage/release date Zelda Wii U footage Final Fantasy XV stuff, and a PC version SMTxFE gameplay footage Awesome Wii digital releases (The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Arc Rise Fantasia, Zelda/Mario titles, etc) Something cool on the Vita idk I mean... Idk. I like Nintendo, but I also have no idea of what they'll show. I have hope that shows from Bethesda, Squeenix, and various PC gaming companies will be cool, but I have absolutely no idea what to expect from them. They've never done an E3 and I don't have any idea of what they might show. This is good in its own way. If something mind-blowing is revealed, there will be more hype for it. See: Watch Dogs. *shoots self* It's been said that FFXV will probably skip E3, as will Zelda. Persona 5 will probably not be shown; there's no point when a preview comes with Dancing All Night and that comes out on the 25th. Every Persona fan will watch it day one. I doubt SMTxFE suddenly has gameplay footage like two months after that cinematic. Most of the things I really want have little hope of being shown. But basically it comes down to this.

I'm excited to see AMDs presentation at the PC part of the show (dat 300 series of GPUs) and I'm hyped to watch Sean "Day[9]" Plott be awesome. As for actual video games I'm hoping to see things about: Some Fallout 4 info Star Fox Wii U ANYTHING + release date Xenoblade Chronicles X gameplay/release date Metroid Prime 4 mega hype unveil No Man's Sky anything, and perhaps a PC release date Star Wars: Battlefront stuff (not too excited about competitive shooters at the moment, but Star Wars is cool, so yeah) Mass Effect 4 So there's more stuff that I'm hoping for and excited about than I had first thought coming into this thread. |

Making this into an impromptu drinking game. Take a drink for each square. Take a shot for each bingo. (For the sake of simplicity/my liver, only horizontal/vertical/diagonal.) |

Bethesda stuff before I get drunk tomorrow and block out half this shit: Doom looked terrible. I know Doom is all bout dat gore, but... I'm not and I'm beyond sick and tired of an industry that seems fascinated with bringing us more realistic gore in greater quantities than ever before. There's a place for blood and all, but it feels like some modern games turn enemies into walking gore containers. Just because "that's what Doom is" does not mean it's magically immune from criticism. Dishonored 2 is a thing, I guess. Idk haven't played the first. I have it, but it's in my endless backlog and I don't feel like playing it for the time being. The female protagonist could be cool, but hopefully she's not just a clone of the male/the typical "strong female protagonist" who has all the personality of a piece of cardboard. (sup Faith) Don't care about Battlecry or the mobile shit. Fallout 4 looked like it had some cool ideas, but as is Bethesda's wont, it seemed like they tried to stuff every idea they had into the game. You have a crafting system that apparently lets you dismantle houses/build houses on the fly because supr dupr realistic, tower defense elements, the usual RPG stuff... I'll probably pass on getting the game day one. I didn't see anything that made me hate the game, but I also didn't see anything that would make me want to get it over X, P4: Dancing All Night, Tales of Zestiria, Clannad, or whatever other weeb games might come out around that time. No TES VI reveal makes me feel I wasted my time, though. Maybe I got my hopes up based on the usual release pattern of the series/how games are usually revealed a year-plus before their release (of course, FO4 is an exception), but it's what I was watching the conference for and it's the reason I give half a damn about Bethesda, so it's still disappointing to me. Microsoft conference was meh, but at least mods on fallout 4 and backwards compatibility assures me that an xbox one purchase will be the right choice. Sony will have to make some huge announcements to make me want a PS4, but i just don't see that happening. A new God of War, Last of Us, Infamous, LBP, among others are probably at least a year away, no sooner than late 2016, but i even doubt that |

Yeah, after that conference I think the Xbox One has definitely become the go to console for non-PC gamers. The indie segment was pretty sick, Ashen looked very interesting and the pirate game looked really fun as well. I thought it was a fantastic conference with lots of great games. Backwards compatability was pretty cool, nice to see you'll be able to download/install the games straight from the 360 disc for no additional charge. |

Microsoft conference was awesome. Finally interested in getting a "next gen" system if they keep this up. Really agreeing with what they're doing "morally", if you would. EA was total garbage. Unravel and Mirror's Edge were the only two good games. Battlefront was Battlefield wearing a Star Wars skin with good flying sections. I've been keeping track of how much gameplay has been in each conference, by the way. Not fully accurate, of course, but here are the numbers so far! Microsoft: 26:04.43 EA: 13:45.29 Both conferences were 90 minutes long. Can anyone take EA's title of showing fuck all?! |

So that Xbox One Elite controller looked cool, BUT IT COSTS ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS LOLOLOLOLOL I watched the Unravel gameplay trailer, it looked really nice. Reminded me of platformers like Limbo. Very cute, might have to grab that one. So far E3 highlights for me have been: Fallout 4 Dishonored 2 Mass Effect: Andromeda (A WHOLE NEW GALAXY, OMG HYPE) Dark Souls 3 Star Wars: Battlefront (wow, that multiplayer gameplay) Ashen (one of the indie games under the Microsoft conference) Sea of Thieves (ARRR ME MATIES) Edited by Granskjegg, Jun 15 2015, 10:49 PM.
