Long months since the demise of the last and the creation of this great new site, Star Wars: Shattered Galaxy. For our characters, long decades since the rise and fall of the fearsome Black General and the collapse of galactic order. More than a century after our last story, a new one begins. For those of you who are new to our story, welcome. I’m sure you will find it is both great and accommodating, as are the people who help write it. For those of you who have returned, thank you for your loyalty and commitment. Without you, I wouldn’t be welcoming people here. But enough rambling. On with the news! Departures Teslan has had the misfortune of somehow incurring the wrath of his rather touchy computer, who has deemed it necessary to destroy his hard drive. As such, he may have some trouble getting on the site, so be forewarned! And please, don’t anger your hardware. Much. Other News A list of factions is up here. There’s some other good stuff in that forum that you should look at. No! Not that kind of good stuff! Dang, I’m talking about story stuff, not.... Geez, c’mon. That’s reserved for Adam, who recently had a birthday. OOC: Brainwash Section Games There are many games in the galaxy, some more popular than others. However, only one of them has found its way here... thus far. This would be the tremendously popular Guys vs. Girls game, which, if I may brag for a second, is so far resulting in TOTAL PWNAGE of the girls by the guys, though there was one scary moment there somewhere. If you can think of another game, feel free to set it up. Remember, there are many games in the galaxy! People just need to post them. If they want, of course. The Best of the Rest Ra Cul has requested any member to make Banners, Logos, and/or Posters fitting the site. More information can be found here. Some few other topics are up, but haven’t been active in the past month. RP News THE TWISTING PLOT The Story Begins It has been over a hundred years, since former Jedi Master Hadrius Cul, the Black General, took the dissaffected and downtrodden, and massed them into the largest military force the galaxy had ever seen. It has been over one hundred years, since the final battle of the Wave of Darkness hit Coruscant, and the skyline of the city planet was set ablaze. Since the Republic was shattered. Since every major, and most minor shipyards were destroyed. Since most of the galaxies armies and fleets were vanquished. Since a complex virus destroyed the galactic holonet. -Courtesy of Ra Cul Here’s a more detailed version of the future. DRAMATIS PERSONAE New Charries Carr Val Nass has a couple of characters seeking acceptance. Know that we love you regardless. Recently accepted characters include Leto Exellius, Fjett d’Elteh, Tiesa Asheni, Maya Whitelight, Baal Tez’lati, and one belonging to yours truly, Jake Featherston, all together adding quite a bit of breadth to our cast. NPCs and Such Maz Kayashi, Captain Tuchira Yer, and Thol D’Yfett, although unimportant in the grand scheme of things, have been created as lesser NPCs. General Vorchas, on the other hand, is more important and likely here to stay as a Major NPC. SUMMARIES (OF SORTS) Light in the dark Ra Cul and the boys have adventures at a club in Coruscant, the devils. Barrick Leone shows up to liven up the party, but Jesera rudely interrupts his bashing. Sirk’ruk and his pack of absolutely disgusting creatures race through the city and join the crowd, and the Black Widows show up as well, courtesy of Barrick, adding quite a show to the usual dinner. Ra and his friends (by this time he’s already picked up a girl) decide maybe it’s too much fun for them and make an escape. Barrick, however, hasn’t had enough amusement and chases after them. And that’s the general gist of things. Promises Negotiations begin between the Kuati with their superior shipyards, the Nadeshi, the Prise, the Mandalorians, and the Chiss about an alliance to resurrect the galaxy. Also, a very nice new ship is mentioned and a picture included. Histories- Wave of Darkness: Prelude, Coruscant Camp A bunch of people from every faction left in the galaxy broken by the Black Army gathers in Coruscant several days before the big battle there. Negotiations of post-war boundaries and treaties abound, but there is certainly focus on the coming battle. There are a lot of big names floating around here, including Pattin, Kravett, Hunter, Zann, Armitage, and Torren. That’s only a sampling; the room is rather full, but always has room for more. GALACTIC BRIEFS (NOTE: These are all meant to serve as sideshows to add to the feel of the current state of the galaxy and perhaps, every once in a while, to advance the plot. Major events may make their way in here. Feel free to make topics about them if you so desire.) Stamco Spaceliners Adding New Stop The Corporate Sector-based spaceliner titan has announced that it will begin offering flights to and from Corellia next month. This is in addition to its current route including Kuat, the Corporate Sector, the Tion Hegemony, Commenor, and Nadeshi Space, the widest route of any spaceliner corporation. Kuat Shipyards Expanding The famous Kuat Shipyards are adding another ground megafactory to increase production. Estimates suggest a 10-15% in production of small- and medium-sized ships due to this move. Upcoming Corellian Election Corellian parliamentary elections will be held in 5 weeks across all five planets of the Corellian system. The ruling Heart of Corellia party is expected to remain the majority party, although its majorities may be cut short as the Party of the Future and Isolationist Party of Corellia make gains. On Selonia, polls indicate major gains by the Selonia Autonomy Party. Bothnian Chief of Police Murdered Hreska Ar’Ghei, Chief of Police of Bothnia, was murdered outside her home today by an unknown assassin. The deranged Bothan male was shot and killed by retaliating bystanders within 5 minutes, before police could find information on which criminal group had hired the hitman, if any. This is the fourth high-profile murder in the Bothan Confederation in the past two months. Bump in Commenor Economy Stocks in Commenor dropped sharply this week, although some losses were recovered as of press time. Analysts suggest this is due in part to discontent with the current government, especially in reaction to last week’s refusal by Prime Minister Ythuel Asgnii to negotiate a trade agreement with Nadeshi. Other analysts say that the drop is merely part of an economic cycle. Other Upcoming Events Baal Tez’lati and Mason Hobbs both have birthdays on 14 August, turning 18 and 21, respectively.
