A Long Time Ago, In A Galaxy Far, Far Away.....

Star Wars: Shattered Galaxy

Episode I: Rise of Heroes

It has been over a hundred years, since former Jedi Master Hadrius Cul, the Black General, took the dissaffected and downtrodden, and massed them into the largest military force the galaxy had ever seen.

It has been over one hundred years, since the final battle of the Wave of Darkness hit Coruscant, and the skyline of the city planet was set ablaze. Since the Republic was shattered. Since every major, and most minor shipyards were destroyed. Since most of the galaxies armies and fleets were vanquished. Since a complex virus destroyed the galactic holonet.

It has been over one hundred years, since the Galaxy was shattered.

Today, a large empire, or alliance, of worlds might number half a dozen. Today, the largest fleets might near twenty five capital ships and two hundred fighters.

The Jedi and Sith, like all Force users, are despised or distrusted, through most of the galaxy. Yet they still exist, in small numbers. The hardy Mandalorians still thrive, damaged less from the great war than many others. Small pockets of what was once the Empire or the Republic exist, a few worlds here, claiming such a title, or a few there.

The galaxy has endured over one hundred years of darkness, with it's focus on survival, rather than war, or advancement. Ships have fallen to disrepair. Economies, now far more isolated, either thrive, or falter, based on local issues, rather than galactic.

A dark power is rising in the galaxy, hidden from the site of all, silent, and unknown.

The Galaxy has been shattered for far too long.......

We hope you enjoy your visit.

Board News

Welcome
Welcome one, welcome all to the second edition of the Corellian Chronicler at the new Shattered Galaxy site! More than a century after our last story, a new one begins.

For those of you who are new to our story, welcome. I’m sure you will find it is both great and accommodating, as are the people who help write it. For those of you who have returned, thank you for your loyalty and commitment. Without you, I wouldn’t be welcoming people here.

But enough rambling. On with the news!

Announcements
That magnificent, handsome, and brilliant member of the SWG storyline, Andrew (a.k.a. Jake Featherston), has posted a link to the site’s wiki, which can be used by members as another place to post their charries and stories.

Teslan had the misfortune of somehow incurring the wrath of his rather touchy computer, who deemed it necessary to destroy his hard drive. Fortunately, the problem was resolved with little bloodshed. Welcome back! And please, none of you anger your hardware. Much.

History

The master of the site, Ra Cul, has proposed a project for all the members of the site to undertake. You can read about it here. In his own words “It's been discussed, a number of times now, by a number of people. And personally, I think the time to simply talk about it is long past. It's past time to write the story of the Star Wars Galaxy Sagas. We're going to write the story of the Star Wars Galaxy Saga, at least SWG to SWG2 to SWG3 and write in all the history prior to that: what makes our AU different from canon EU... probably detail the NextGen era a bit... then the SW Battlecry prequel and sequel trilogies... and bring it right into the Shattered Galaxy era.”

Also, here you can find the timeline that Cul has set up to help with the telling of our story, in all its epic sweeping glory. Non-canon SWG events are encoded in yellow italics.

Other News
A list of rough duelist rankings is up here. Note that this only gives a rough estimate of who would win in a straight up saber fight, not necessarily a real one.

There’s some other good stuff in that forum that you should look at. No! Not that kind of good stuff! Dang, I’m talking about story stuff, not.... Geez, c’mon.

OOC: Brainwash Section

Games
There are many games in the galaxy, some more popular than others. However, only one of them has found its way here... thus far. This would be the popular Guys vs. Girls game, which, if I may brag for a second, is so far resulting in TOTAL PWNAGE of the girls by the guys, though there was one scary moment in there somewhere. Very brief, mind. If you can think of another game, feel free to set it up. Remember, there are many games in the galaxy! People just need to post them. If they want, of course.

The Best of the Rest
Ra Cul has requested any member to make Banners, Logos, and/or Posters fitting the site. More information can be found here. Some few other topics are up, but haven’t been active in the past months. These include character ideas, images by Carr Val Nass, and a couple of ads for other sites.

THE TWISTING PLOT

The Story Begins

It has been over a hundred years since former Jedi Master Hadrius Cul, the Black General, took the disaffected and downtrodden and massed them into the largest military force the galaxy had ever seen.

It has been over one hundred years, since the final battle of the Wave of Darkness hit Coruscant, and the skyline of the city planet was set ablaze. Since the Republic was shattered. Since every major and most minor shipyards were destroyed. Since most of the galaxies armies and fleets were vanquished. Since a complex virus destroyed the galactic holonet.

Here’s a more detailed version of the future.

Two major forces, a group led by Ra Cul and an alliance being formed on Kuat, are pushing agendas to unify the galaxy and restore the grandness that once reigned supreme. Of course, there are always bad guys out to stop them, and unifying the galaxy after more than a hundred years of darkness is no easy task....

DRAMATIS PERSONAE

New Charries

There have been no new characters, either main or NPC, since the 17th edition of the Corellian Chronicler was issued.

SUMMARIES (OF SORTS)

The Main Plot:

Light in the dark

Ra Cul and the boys have adventures at a club in Coruscant, the devils. Barrick Leone shows up to liven up the party, but Jesera rudely interrupts his bashing. Sirk’ruk and his pack of absolutely disgusting creatures race through the city and join the crowd, and the Black Widows show up as well, courtesy of Barrick, adding quite a show to the usual dinner. Ra and his friends (by this time he’s already picked up a girl) decide maybe it’s too much fun for them and make an escape, swiping a datapad carrying important information. Barrick, however, hasn’t had enough amusement and chases after them. He is also intent on retrieving the datapad Ra and Co. took along with them.

Remaining on Coruscant is much too dangerous, so Ra has proposed leaving the planet in a dinghy and going to Kuat. Jesera and Calin did not take the news awfully well. And that’s the general gist of things.

Promises

Negotiations begin between the Kuati with their superior shipyards, the Nadeshi, the Prise, the Mandalorians, and the Chiss about an alliance to resurrect the galaxy. Also, a very nice new ship is mentioned and a picture included. One of the major components of this alliance is a greatly improved communications system while an antidote to the Black General’s virus is found. Also, an alliance with the Jedi is being discussed, although it remains a sticking point for several of the parties involved in the negotiations.

Histories:

Wave of Darkness: Prelude, Coruscant Camp

A bunch of people from every faction left in the galaxy broken by the Black Army gathers in Coruscant several days before the big battle there. Negotiations of post-war boundaries and treaties abound, but there is certainly focus on the coming battle. There are a lot of big names floating around here, including Pattin, Kravett, Hunter, Zann, Armitage, and Torren. That’s only a sampling; the room is rather full, but always has room for more.

Focus has shifted away from diplomacy and towards quickly approaching military matters. Chains of command are in place, with Pattin as head, and plans and task forces are being organized. The future awaits.

Wave of Darkness: Prelude, Black Army Camp

Hadrius Cul, the Black General, has given a pretty little speech on Commenor, inspiring those in his Black Army. The Black Knights stand behind, and through the Meld, the Army prepares for the final, end-all battle on Coruscant. There is still minor resistance among the people of Commenor, but most have come to see the truth of the Black Banner and the White Star. Merrick Trion, the General’s commander of the fleets, is present and ready for the battle, as are millions who have heeded his call. The future comes.

GALACTIC BRIEFS

(NOTE: These are all meant to serve as sideshows to add to the feel of the current state of the galaxy and perhaps, every once in a while, to advance the plot. Major events may make their way in here. Feel free to make topics about them if you so desire.)

Galactic Briefs will no longer appear in the Corellian Chronicler, but rather as its own separate newsletter, The Dubrillian Galactic, beginning soon. This will allow me to post a Chronicler every three weeks and a Galactic every week to move the story along and make things easier for me.

Other

Birthdays

Baal Tez’lati and Mason Hobbs both had birthdays on 14 August, turning 18 and 21, respectively. Congratulations to both of them. Also, Lord Lion had a birthday on 1 October and Ra Cul had his on 10 October. Congrats to all those who have gotten older and better!

Editor’s Pleas for Mercy Requests

If you'd like to submit an article, banner, question, or ad you'd like to see in here, please PM me. We will accept ads of almost any sort. Editorials and letters would be nice too. If you have any suggestions of things you'd like to see in the newsletter, or any comments on it, just post in this topic. Thank you, and have a good week!

If anyone is interested in helping me with the Chronicler that would be great. Summaries of Light in the Dark would be especially appreciated.

Final Note

If you are reading this, thank you for reading through this entire thing. Unless, of course, you skipped to this section, in which case you ought to be fed poisoned cookies and laced mochas. Thanks to Niall for providing this forum for me to play in. Everyone’s invited to join the fun. Have fun RPing!
