Submission:
1. Submissions must be PM-ed to me. In this manner, authorship of the works for critique are anonymous. Anonymity will allow everyone to give more constructive criticism, because the work will not be judged- whether with praises or ridicule, solely on the character of its author.

2. Should an author wish to identify a draft as his or her creation, it should be stated in the PM. If the author decides to reveal the authorship of his or her originally-anon submission, he or she must PM me to change its status.

3. All submissions must be encoded (duh). If you're not very into the act of typing your handwritten works, submit your written work to me. I'll have it encoded for you. That means the mods may once in a while receive encoding tasks. And hopefully, you get that we're asking you to write legibly.

4. All works will be labeled as:
a. NEWS: Drafts that report events, ideas and reactions
b. SPORTS: Reports on matches- SHAP-related or otherwise
c. POETRY: well, duh
d. SHORT STORY: Fiction and Non fiction
e. EDITORIAL: 150-200 (250 max) third-person opinion pieces on a SINGLE topic
f. FEATURE: Opinion, Non-fiction, Essays, Reviews etc.
g. ED CARTOON: Illustrated opinion on a SINGLE issue/topic
h. COMICS: ultra-short stories/commentaries in a/2/3/4 panel The fewer the panels, the wider they should be:
so identify the type of article in your PM/submission. If you're unsure, you may say so.

5. Submission of Illustrations (photographs, scanned drawings and computer-made graphics) of any type of article must be done in PM too. They will be posted on the same thread with the article they are illustrating.

6. After a while, the author might want to revise his or her draft 1,2,3 whatever. PM me with your revision plus the thread title of the original you wish to revise (a link would be appreciated). The latest draft will be posted above the original in post number one (edit post) and reposted at the end of the thread to bump its thread.

Commenting:
1. No anonymous criticisms will be allowed. Although that's pretty impossible in the forums. Everyone must stand by their opinions.

2. No one is allowed to divulge the authorship of a submission. This will defeat the purpose of anon submission. No guessing too. Don't say stuff like: This topic is so Angelo! or Is that you Milo? or You write like Jerry Shaw....

3. You can share your comments even if it's an afterthought, as you're the author of the draft being criticized. But do not be very defensive. Every work must speak for itself. It's just a draft.

4. Commenters can comment on others' comments too. State why you dis/agree.

3. Criticisms must be constructive. Therefore, they must base their commentary on the actual merit of the work by pointing out an example (exerpt of a line, a sentence etc.) where the author did exceptionally well or terrible to illustrate the critic's point.

4. The critic must elaborate why he or she thinks the poem is good or bad. You don't just say, I like it, This is crap. Tell why this line is awesome, or why that entire paragraph is 'not working'.

5. No bashing is allowed. If the work deserves an extreme comment (wtf's and the like), you may do so but say it in a nice way and go back to numbers 3 and 4.

6. Giving suggestions is a plus. Commenters are allowed to spell them out (aka show 'em how it's done), cite other works for illustration and/or tell the author what he or she can do to improve the draft (#7).

7. Do not hesitate to provide a link to another article you've read before that tackles the same subject, style or theme as a guide to the draft's author. While you're at it (and if it's not too long), post such article in a quote tag.

8. Commentary must be organized. As a suggestion, you might want to consider this outline:
a. Give a general statement/overview
b. then tackle the work line by line or paragraph by paragraph.
c. End it with general recommendations.

To facilitate this, the paragraphs (and lines, in poetry) will be numbered in post number one.

9. Everyone is invited to participate. This is the point of having a forum for your submissions. No comment is too n00b to be unqualified for tearing down something into pieces. You will be more careful with your writing and capable in your craft by learning from your and your colleague's mistake. Of course, you will get better at it by reading and writing a lot! Submit something, anything, everything!

10. In revising the grammar or spelling (note that encoding will not correct the errors in handwritten submissions), commenters must put the sentence that needs to be corrected, or the sentence that contain the misspelled word/abbreviation/questionable fact in italicize tag

11. In the same post correcting an error, the poster must put his or her correction in bold tag for the author to easily point out the former's corrections. No need to put it in bold if the correction is a complete revision of an entire sentence.

12. PM me if you want to add new guidelines for commenting. I'll consider it.

Wait, can't we put this in the drafts subsection or is it unnecessary enough for deletion?

Also, with the ones you posted, yeah, I can still remember the ones I striked down.

If we must move them to the drafts subsection, it must not be password protected and should be moderated by an active member. Just make sure that only registered members can access them.

Well the problem is we don't have an active moderator.

By the way, I just uploaded some, non-anonymously. I figured that with the "if you want" statement in one of your posts, that we had an option?
