Alright, we all know the North Vietnamese really won, but there's also a lot of people (mostly Americans) who can't accept that the US lost, saying that nobody won the war, or that the de facto winner was really the US. True, the NVA and VC did suffer far more casualties, but ultimately the South Vietnamese government was overthrown and the US' goal of stopping communism from spreading was never achieved, and, with the domino theory in effect, Laos and Cambodia also succumbed to communism. Although US forces won most if not all of the major battles, it was pretty much all for nothing since even with the US only suffering around 60,000 killed/missing, compared to the NVA/VC's 1,000,000+ (big difference, zerg rushing, maybe? What is this, Korea?), the end result after the war was the dissolution of the South Vietnamese government (have you ever noticed the fact that the current flag of Vietnam is the same as that of the NVA?) and ultimately the withdrawal of US forces. |

I just like the fact that U.S. weaponry dont work well with jungles. Like the M16. I also like the famous vehicles like the UH-1 Huey, Patrol Boat River "Pibber", M60A3 Patton, and others. |

Well they do have significantly smaller forests in the US. They weren't trained for jungles, either. It was either VC booby traps or malaria or something. |
