"Eh!? A-are you...are you alright...?" "Maa, maa! I'm fine! Ahaha~ That didn't hurt at all!" Grinning, the young boy jumped back to his feet, running off to catch the ball that was happily rolling down the hill. His friend sat back on the grass, brow furrowed in concern, but the younger boy's laughter was infectious and his smile more so. And soon he was smiling a little as well. "Aha! See? That's much better! No more crying, ne? The red doesn't go good with your blue," the boy smiled, returning with the large ball. "Okay, okay, I'm gonna try again! Watch close this time!" he said, carefully climbing onto the ball, his hands out to his sides. But as expected, he still had a lot of practicing to go. Laying there for a moment, the boy looked up to the sky, letting his ball roll away yet again. He could feel a warmth spreading from the back of his head, and a throbbing starting to set in, but he couldn't be having that. "Aha, look! That cloud looks like a cat!" he laughed, pointing to the sky. His friend looked up with him, momentarily distracted from the potentially injured boy beside him. Chances were, however, that if he was hurt badly enough, that he wouldn't be so easily distracted by the clouds, right? So he was easily persuaded to lay down as well to watch the clouds drift past the leaves of the tree and into their view. Laying there for several minutes, pointing out the various shapes they could see, the two eventually fell into silence for a short period. It was broken, however, by the younger boy reaching over and patting his friend's hand. "I think you'll be the best artist in the world, Mamo~ Don't let your parents stop you." "...Thank you, Ryou... I think...you'll be the best...clown in the world, too. A-and...that your parents...won't stop you, either," Mamoru smiled. Through the crudely painted makeup on his face, Ryouta smiled back and squeezed his friend's hand. |
