General Info

Name of Race: Dracofolk.
Degree of Sentience: Sentient.

Magically Attuned: Yes, but to varying degrees depending upon the subspecies.

Home Continent: Originally Medieval Fantasy, now basically everywhere.

Descriptions

Physical Description: Averaging around anywhere from 6'3" inches to 7'1", Dracofolk can be classified into subspecies based upon their height and general physical build. They appear to be like dragons, but in much smaller and more compact forms. Generally, their body structure consists of an extended snout, and a large tail. Dracofolk classified as the subspecies "Caster" have wings as well. The general scale color can run anything from grey and black, green and olive, and the rare white. The three subspecies are defined as follows:

Casters: Casters are the smallest of the three subspecies, standing from 6'3" to 6'5", they are generally smaller-tailed and thinner-framed than either of the other two variants. The most notable trait of the Casters, though, are their wings, spanning just past their fingertips, and can retract so far as their shoulders. These wings are indeed capable of minor flight, although Dracofolk are far too heavy for real sustained flight.

Dustwalkers: Dustwalkers are not technically a variation, per se, but rather defective Dracofolk born through a mutation caused by the mixup of multiple chromosomes in Dracofolk DNA. The results of these persistent chromosome mixups are the Dustwalkers, who are thin framed and frail compared to their other counterparts, but yield much higher speed and flexibility, able to work as high-end assassins due to their variations. They are not afraid, usually, to use magic to augment and aid their usual duties of murder.

Warriors: Strong and devout Dracofolks are the archetype, and this subspecies fits the bill. The most powerful subspecies by far, Warriors are the non-magical variant of the two species, although some (in rare cases) can cast low-yield spells such as extremely minor healing or small sparks. They usually stand at about 6'10" to 7' tall, the tallest warrior Dracofolk was recorded as a hulking 7'9" and was said to carry around a large trunk as a weapon, although the latter is mostly superstition.

Mental Description: Usually seen as sharp minded in the casters, quick witted in the Dustwalkers, and dim-brained in the Warriors, the diversity in the mental variations of the Dracofolk is great. Though they seem to be rag-tag, they are far from fledglings and rove the lands, usually peppered throughout pretty much everywhere. Because of this, they tend to have incredibly varied personalities.

Important Features:

Dracofolk do not actually have any genetic relation to their namesakes, the Dragons. As such, the only similar qualities are the Dracofolks' scales and, for Casters, their wings.

Because of the extreme variations in Dracofolks, they have made a name for themselves as a mercenary race, and as such are spread throughout much of the world. A Dracofolk who lives with the citizens of the Utopian Future's society will be just as at home with technology as any other regular person, and they are regularly welcomed in nearly any establishment in the known world.
