Nickname: Noddists Virtues: Conviction and Instinct Ethics of the Path: Learn as much as possible about vampiric history, especially that which concerns Caine (the First Vampire). Search for every clue, fragment and hint about the dark father. Learn well from them. Learn well from His actions. Followers are expected to spend most of their time learning all they can about Gehenna, searching for fragments of the Book of Nod and other texts, and defending their theology against doubters and blasphemers. Respect others on the Path who have come closer to the truth than you. Develop your willpower and predatory instinct - your will is your greatest tool. Learn the meaning of inner strength. The Beast, like the rest of the vampiric form, can be mastered; never give in to it. Be stronger. Never succumb to Frenzy; always “ride the wave”. The Beast led Caine to murder Abel. The Beast can be force lesser beings to perform unplanned and foolish acts of depravity. The way of wisdom is the way of restraint. Never go to extremes in anything. Indulgence, passion, and mercy – all these thing cloud the mind. Take the vitae of the unworthy so that you may become close to Caine. Always seek to drink the heart’s blood of the older generation. and thereby grow closer to the First Vampire. However, also take the vitae of the weak and savour their experiences and insight, for Caine whispers in their blood too. Temper this accrual with an understanding of your own potential so that you don't take the Curse for granted. Exult in its power and beware its weaknesses. Study your abilities and the abilities of Caine to discover what belongs within you. Examine the limits and meanings of vampirism. Accept your condition and that you are no longer human. Adapt to the needs of your new condition, your undead state; cast aside your lost humanity. Exist as a vampire. Do not lie to yourself and be subservient to mortal laws or moral structures. However, you should live in peace among mortal whenever possible. Do not reveal the vampiric existence to them, but never forget that the undead are their betters and mortals are food. Vampires who adhere to the Path of Caine are studious and philosophical, they are some of the most introspective and reflective of vampires. Noddists are often reserved and educated, with a strong knowledge of history and a drive for self-awareness. Those on this Path lead by example, embracing their monstrous natures and striving to attune themselves to their differences from humans, then helping other vampires do the same. Noddists do not hesitate to share their insights, so that all vampires have the opportunity to become closer to Caine, though they hoard dangerous secrets to prevent misuse. They are not inquisitive, in the sense of seeking deductive answers to problems; rather, they study traditions and historical events in hopes of finding solutions for their questions. Cainites who espouse this Path often display a great deal of self-mastery. Additionally, Noddists tend to engage in debate with other vampires, to discern how other Cainites experience the Curse. Many other Cainites find followers of this Path haughty and vain.
