Typhon Sutekh Ecstasy Warrior Nickname: Theophidians, Typhonites, Corrupters Virtues: Conviction and Self-Control Ethics of the Path An exclusively Setite Path, that of Typhon, followers have a truly sinister purpose in mind, the resurrection of their patron and father Set – a divine being even before his Embrace. Many followers of this Path cultivate blood cults of devout followers and indenture legions of desperate individuals to themselves. The ideals of purity and spiritual progress espoused by the mortals are lies designed to keep one from one's destiny. A devout Theophidian strives to root out any trace of conscience or morality based on custom and the dictates of society. He deliberately seeks out the objects and acts that revolt him, to break their power over him. Decay is inevitable; struggle against such is futile. Followers fulfill their place in the universe by acting as agents of entropy and breaking down the old so that the new may blossom. Only in corruption -- by succumbing to all that's considered impure, vile, and weak -- may true enlightenment be found. In weakness lies the greatest strength of all. Most people can't recognize the spiritual chains that bind them. Here too, mortal desires serve the Theophidian cause. If a person can't understand his enslavement to social convention, perhaps he'll understand enslavement to alcohol, sex, or money. At last, humbled and stripped of worldly entanglements, a Setite's victim may devote his life or unlife to Set and begin the long trek to transcendence. Golconda is the ultimate truth, and thus the ultimate lie. If this can't be accomplished, destroy them by the most horrific methods imaginable. Corrupt its practitioners over all others. This Path preaches the importance of influence and control; forcing others to see themselves as they are, and to accept what they are. Many followers, on the surface, appear to be little more than pimps, pushers, and fixers; in truth, they are much more. They use other individuals as tools or resources. By gaining control over others, Theophidians may exploit them to fulfill their own ends. Thus, rather than owing those who provide them with information or services, followers reverse the role, and instead have their marks come to them first. While the Theophidians are not averse to doing "dirty work" themselves -- quite the contrary -- they reason that, with others serving their purposes, they can accomplish much more. Thus, followers of this Path play many more roles: Seekers, fixers, scholars, courtesans, and harvesters of souls. Mortals are suitable subjects for physiological and psychological experimentation to advance the arts of depravity and deformity. Practice such experiments whenever possible. The Theophidians are frequently social chameleons, given their need to move through many different circles. They are smooth, ingratiating, and wholly inspired by their greater cause. Followers of this Path rarely ask favors of others; they prefer to help satisfy the desires of others and then call in favors. Followers of the Path of Typhon are first and foremost seekers of arcane lore, though their keen social graces also make them silver-tongued diplomats. These Kindred are also insidious, working their way into existing vampire societies with serpentine façades of false identities and cadres of loyal followers. The eldest Theophidian in a given locale often erects a temple to Set in some out-of-the-way place to better serve the slumbering god.
Note: Typhonists and Sutekhians commit or refrain from the same deeds: Only their reasons differ. Some cults teach the Path of Typhon first, then teach the Path of Sutekh when the Setite becomes ready for a higher level of initiation. A Typhonist may switch to the Sutekhian Path, or vice versa, at no more cost than the character's Path rating dropping to 3. If a Theophidian character has a Path rating of 3 or less, she may flip-flop at will. This pretty much guarantees that the character will never advance in either Path. |

Typhon Sutekh Ecstasy Warrior Path of Sutekh Nickname: Theophidians Virtues: Conviction and Self-Control Ethics of the Path Exclusive among the Followers of Set, this Path teaches that their founder was one of the gods of Egypt; who turned the curse of undeath into a divine blessing that he shared with deserving mortals. Followers are taught to push beyond desire and degradation (this is where they differ completely from the Path of Typhon). They must seek revelation through knowledge, faith, and experience. Although, sometimes knowledge must be replaced by deeds. Caught between life and death, Set's followers have eternity to pursue enlightenment and the liberation of humanity. Gather information -- secret and otherwise -- and learn how it applies to the resurrection of Set, the true nature of divinity and the origin and fate of the world. Lore and knowledge have been diluted and spread over the world, particularly in this new information Age. One must gather that far-flung truth and wield it as a weapon against one’s enemies, just as the lesser gods flung thunderbolts at mighty Typhon in the nights of yore. Subjugate the Beast: Self-discipline and cunning must temper a warrior's rage. Its reckless wile serves only itself. The Beast drives one away from cunning, from society, from the Path of creation. Those who follow the Beast belong to neither Set nor any lesser god. They are outcast, lost in the void. Properly trained, the Beast can be a good hunting dog, but one must never let the dog determine direction. Immerse yourself in whatever you hate, fear, or shun, that it may not hold power over you. Deliberately seek out the objects and acts that revolt, to break their power over you. Also, confront your desires, to break their power as well -- if necessary, by exhausting them through hyper-indulgence. Focus more on breaking down moral taboos and freeing yourself from the influence of the material world than aiding (meaning corrupting, of course) others to attain this sentiment. The goal is to hate nothing but the Aeons and desire nothing except emancipation for yourself and others. Wrest power away from the Aeons and their mortal (and Kindred) dupes. Maintain a veil of secrecy, for the Aeons delude humanity into fearing its own freedom and look ill upon this Path’s means and ends. All who follow the Serpent’s path must keep their affiliation to themselves in the presence of enemies – and all who are not allies or minion are enemies by default. Tempt, confuse, and degrade others, that they may recognize their own limitations and seek to overcome them. Bring others under your sway, there by increasing influence and capability. A nest of vipers is far more deadly than a single snake. There is no room for antisocial loners on the path. One must delegate important tasks to agents, like the mythical Hydra, it must always be ready to sprout two heads when one is lost. Acquire power to further the cult's cause and turn the Aeon's dupes against them, but don't love power for its own sake.

Typhon Sutekh Ecstasy Warrior Path of Ecstasy Nickname: Ecstasists, Sensualists. Virtues: Conviction and Self-Control Ethics of the Path Practitioners of this path revel in luxury instead of degradation. They sate the Beast by glutting its appetite. Although akin to the Path of Typhon in some ways, practitioners of this path reject base cruelties. Rather than celebrate misery, they glorify pleasure, revelling in the most decadent extremes of vampiric sensation. Instead of placing Set as the central figure of their Path, Ecstasists would celebrate their virtues; believing that they follow Set not as blind (and thus unenlightened) followers would, but knowing faithfully that Set supports the same principles. Ecstasists are foremost seekers or arcane lore, but their interests often lead them to explore the ways of mortal and vampire minds and bodies, and to exploit that knowledge to confront their ''subject'' with paradoxes regarding how they value their principles. Vampires are the children of sin. Thus we should practice, and spread the practice of, sin. Ecstasis is the next step in Spiritual Evolution. We must research Ecstasis, and we must teach Ecstasis. Followers search to offer freedom to the soul by embracing spiritual research and enlightenment via the use of sensation, believing that material deprivation is utterly barbaric and not the way to peace. The pursuit of pleasure is a spiritual obligation. Those who spurn luxury and hedonism seek to befoul the spirit with grossness, and are misguided. Existence serves no purpose save to entertain. Deprivation is akin spiritual fossilisation. Social orders promoting deprivation must be destroyed. Never tolerate deprivation-based philosophies to go unquestioned. Never tolerate deprivation-based religions to convert – see them destroyed instead. Innocence is ignorance, either enlighten the innocent, or destroy them. It is not a crime to kill, as long as the killing is committed beautifully. Often seen as sensation junkies, they view it as a tool, not an end in itself. Only through pushing the boundaries of what has been experienced before may they reach Ecstasis and thus, spiritual perfection instead of spiritual denial. Freedom to love, desire and feel have been denied to humanity by cold principles upholding exaggerated restraint and self-control. Followers will rarely ask favours, but will easily help others, if only to help them satisfy their own desires, and perhaps open them to suppressed ones. They seek Truth as they disrupt the illusions of goodness of self-imposed deprivation, Spirituality as they discover a state of mind beyond animal and human (an acceptance of sensation as necessary and that new experiences aid in understanding themselves and the universe), and Balance remaining masters of their self instead of becoming victims to sensation. To resist temptation is a great wrong, but to lose control is a wrong even greater. The Ecstasists have an intolerant viewpoint toward ugliness. While their vision of beauty could shock some more human Kindred, they believe ugliness to be a physical restraint to spiritual evolution – the disgust and displeasure cannot inspire. Physical ugliness should not be promoted, including ugliness of sentient creatures. If possible, it should be corrected. Pursuing their own enlightenment through extravagant hedonism and altered states of consciousness, Setites who follow this Path pride themselves on the materialism of the modern world, and boast that it is a direct result of their actions and existence. They revere beauty, not for the beauty itself, but for the spiritual teaching it can propagate. Members of this path often especially despise Kindred of Clan Toreador, and take every chance to humiliate and distress them.

Typhon Sutekh Ecstasy Warrior Path of the Warrior Nickname: Warriors Virtues: Conviction & Self-Control Ethics of the Path This Path has grown in popularity in recent decades, with many young Setites attracted to its philosophies. These vampires sought a return to the roots of their founder, and just as Set was once a hunter and warrior, so too are adherents to this Path. These Setites pride themselves upon their physical and martial prowess. This comes with mastery of every weapon the Warrior can come across, mastery of physical Disciplines (indeed, some believe every Discipline should be mastered to its fullest potential), and of course, mastery of one's body. This is a cause of friction between Ecstasists and Warriors as the former tolerate the Frenzy while the latter see it as a loss of control. And for the Warriors, loss of control is a great weakness indeed. The mind is subservient to the body, and so is the Beast. Although the body is bestial, it can be refined. The Embrace begins this transmogrification, but even afterwards, the Beast can still reign, unless it is beaten down with exercise and struggle. Through discipline and pain, they seek to dominate the Beast, which they see as an illusion of their mind, by steeling their body until it becomes able to suppress the Beast's urges. They believe the Body is bestial and must be punished. Scourge yourself, hurt yourself, push yourself to your limits and know, that in doing so, you hurt the Beast. To keep control, Warriors subject themselves to harsh discipline, and punish themselves without pity. Fights between warriors, or between warriors and other beasts are common training scenarios. You are a killer. Do not hesitate to kill. Setites who follow this Path are among the most dangerous opponents any Cainite can encounter. They are Set’s shock troops in the Jyhad. Lupines, demons, kine and Kindred all form their prey. It is the common ambition of adherents of the Path to hone themselves until they become the ultimate urban predators. When Set arises, those of the Path of the Warrior believe they will sweep all opponents away before them. Every moment must be spent honing the powers of the body. Your vampiric disciplines are a body function and must be trained, too. The True Death is preferable to failure and weakness Many who follow the Path of the Warrior are masochists and fanatics. They believe that the Beast is a creation of the mind, and that by training the body until it is stronger than the mind, the Beast can be controlled. Most of its adherents are Warrior Setites. While others actively try to corrupt others, Warriors strive to become like Set.
