I looked upon the scene before me - upon the mere house, and the simple landscape features of the domain - upon the bleak walls upon the vacant eye-like windows - upon a few rank sedges - and upon a few white trunks of decayed trees - with an utter depression of the soul, which I can compare to no earthly sensation… - Edgar Allan Poe * There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy - William Shakespeare * No Man chooses evil because it is evil; he only mistakes it for happiness, the good he seeks. - Mary Wollstonecraft * Tell me the news, again, whatever it is... sorrow and I are hardly strangers. I can bear the worst. ― Sophocles

Becoming part of the tapestry; Or what sort of new arrival would better fit into the masterpiece

Hello everyone,

I spotted this while looking to find a group that plays OWOD and wandered in. I haven't read any of the IC material to ensure I don't read things I shouldn't know as a character yet
The background sounds intriguing and with so much freedom to weave each other into a shared tale it does tantalise a lot.

So I wanted to check before I start putting numbers to a character concept if certain new arrivals might be a more welcome addition.
In short to make sure that the new character adds something to the larger tale and isn't just filling a slot already in use.

1) A Tremere Ancilla sent to Milan to track down a stolen relic from a Chantry. Since the new arrival has few contacts in the area they are ordered to found a Chantry and seek out others to help them recover this relic. It's theft is very embarrassing to the Lord who guarded it and the clan. The new arrival is officially here to study a supposedly uncovered new fragment of a Dante work that was lost to history. As an historian his odd ways are not uncommon in those who spens their days in libraries. His paleness is also familiar to those who read dusty tomes.

2) A Toreador antribu of the Sabbat. Who has followed a sighting of an old enemy who kidnapped a treasured ghoul and burnt his haven while making their escape. The Toreador is an inhuman creature who long abandoned humanity for a path of enlightenment preferring to follow a more warrior centric code. As a loyal member of the Sword of Caine they would present themselves to the local Bishop and report in. They have a contact in the underworld yo help them smuggle on some contraband and find this hated foe.

Just thought I'd ask if there was a preference for either one.
Looking forward to hearing feedback and ideas for how to be a useful addition to the fabric of the story.

Hi, Soderbok! At the moment, the Tremere seems a more promising concept. We'd like to talk with you about possible plots, but we'd rather not reveal too much in public. Could you open a thread in the Chamber of Secrets subforum?

This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places and events are either the product of imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual people or events is purely coincidental.
