Nabradia
The Kingdom of the Mist

General information

The kingdom of Nabradia, according to dated history books provided by the Azure Scepter, is one of the larger powers in the region of Soluna, and one of the oldest hierarchies in recorded history, dating back to the era where the Divine Beasts roamed around the lands of Azora. The kingdom itself is located in the hill plains, surrounded by the dark atmosphere of sunless skies and a thick, magical fog that got the name "... of the Mist". That same fog is provided by the breath of Arugal the Brilliance, a Divine Beast who interacted with the humans out of curiosity.

Along with their army of gilded soldiers defending the walls, the fog creates a natural defense for the kingdom, whereas the invading enemies can get lost within the fog, making the search for the kingdom itself troublesome for them. In order to actually find their way into Nabradia, they need the aura of the Sun-Cryst, which will lead the person into the entrance of the kingdom through the light's intensity as they navigate their way to it, with its glow slowly intensifying as the person gets closer to the kingdom.

Their only source of light and power is the Sun-Cryst, a large and magical crystal, given as a gift to the first king of Nabradia by the Occuria, that provides the kingdom much of its life. The plants in the kingdom, despite the lack of light, continued to grow and mature under the aura of the Sun-Cryst, allowing them to live and provide a sense of serenity within the kingdom. Essentially, it renders the conditions in Nabradia viable due to its aura encompassing the entire kingdom. Their consumable goods lies within its vicinity, as crops and livestock meet the needs of the people by giving them their fair share of it, depending on the number of people in their homes. Natural resources such as iron, bronze, gold, and other precious materials can be found deep under the hills. However, with the mist in its environment, it's very troublesome to mine there, especially if the miners have to go through multiple veins of passageways.

The Royal Family

The royal family, Nabradia, whose name is shared by its kingdom and the citizenship of their people, governs the entirety of the kingdom as a monarchy. The last heads of the family are King Ramidas B'nafran Nabradia and Queen Amalia Penel Nabradia, who are also the last to rule the kingdom before their downfall. The extended family of Nabradia are few in numbers, as they follow a strict number of three children or less. They usually name themselves with a three-piece name (i.e. [name] [name] Nabradia). If they don't have a second name, their middle name takes its spot.

The royal family are also the only people to have innate magical abilities unique to themselves. Their bodies have a different mana pathway, a term used to describe the points within the body that channel mana through it, thus they're not susceptible to chakra blocks or any skill that can disrupt the flow of mana within their bodies. They are attuned to the Sun-Cryst, making them the only ones to use the power contained within the crystal itself. That alone makes their skills a wonder to behold.

Notable people in the royal family:

  • Prince Rasler B'nafran Nabradia - Only son of King Ramidas B'nafran Nabradia and Queen Amalia Penel Nabradia, he's currently the only living, true-blooded Nabradian and heir to the throne. Currently possessing the Midlight Shard.
  • Helio Damascus Nabradia - Great-great-granduncle of Prince Rasler, he founded the Azure Scepter, one of the oldest guilds in Azora.
  • Kyrie Eleison Nabradia - Female head-general of the Gilded Host of Nabradia, and Aunt to Prince Rasler, she served her country by fighting against the Amidaras in a war between the two families.

The Downfall and Myth

During the ascension of Rasler's position as the Prince of Nabradia, the Sun-Cryst mysteriously began to glow intensely, to which the guardians of the crystal took notice. However, they were already too late to report to the King when the large crystal began to surround itself in a fiery aura and, after a brief moment, releases a wave of pure energy coming from the Sun-Cryst, killing those who were hit by it. Because of that, it affected the entire kingdom, as it was surrounded by the energies of the Sun-Cryst to supplement their livelihood, causing everything to break down, similar to an earthquake.

Nobody survived within the kingdom. Or at least, that's what the book says.
