Incidentally, what was "the meme" that Anto was apparently doing it for? Lupin's first post votes Anto for something when Anto hasn't even posted yet so wat

Basically, we have a 'rivalry' where we both do really bad trash talk in person and insult each other's bad/good play, so it was logical for me to meme vote him. For the record, *in childish voice* he started it. But for real I'll try to get some real conversation going so I'll vote Colly for now, though if we think he's town he was kickass last game so I definitely want him alive.

VOTE: Colly

Sorry for not posting, just didn't feel the need to hop on the random voting train because it wasn't accomplishing anything.

Discussion-wise, I haven't seen anyone talking about the death last night. Anyone got any thoughts to share on that?

So at first I was thinking that there was no real information to get off of SuperChar being lynched, but now that I think about it I think there might be some information to work with.

So last game SuperChar was one of the more inactive players in the night which lead to a lot of suspicions on him. I get the feeling that if SuperChar he would have exhibited similar traits. So in actuality I think it would have been better to kill some of the players who were active last time. The fact they chose such a quiet player gives me the impression that the mafia doesn't have much experience as mafia. I think that people such as AN2 could probably fall under this category. Another possibility is that all of the key/experienced townies such as Colly and Skarfelt are mafia themselves and don't really have many important targets to kill as a result.

Those are 2 theories I have for now, maybe someone else can add onto them.

From the look of things, I'm kind of thinking that Superchar may have been an investigative role. Seeing as discussion is light and accusations are currently baseless or speculative it could be possible that:
Superchar was the cop/tracker.
Tracker found either town or the ninja.
Cop hit green.
Investigators are being very cautious about the information they're leaving and it's gone over my head.

I'm going to keep my vote to Colly until I at least hear something from him.
Anybody else want to theory craft? On first glance of the player list I thought it'd be a more talkative town.

Gonna keep my vote on Colly for pressure purposes but I'm gonna call out my initial "target" CTurtle again for his analysis of the kill.

"CTurtle"

So last game SuperChar was one of the more inactive players in the night which lead to a lot of suspicions on him. I get the feeling that if SuperChar he would have exhibited similar traits. So in actuality I think it would have been better to kill some of the players who were active last time. Another possibility is that all of the key/experienced townies such as Colly and Skarfelt are mafia themselves and don't really have many important targets to kill as a result.

This basically means the Mafia is either:
1. Really inexperienced
2. Really experienced

Meaning this point is basically totally null and means "it could be anyone". It's also worth noting that if the Mafia has even one semi-experienced player (as is very likely) then it's not as if the kill target's going to be stupid anyway.

I don't even think this post by CTurtle is scummy or something, I just wanted to point out that the logic here doesn't really check out.

As for my opinion on the kill target, SuperChar is somebody who's not really a huge member of our Smash scene and thus is unlikely to have any ties to anybody. If, for example, Lupin was Mafia, he might go "lmao let's kill Anto" then there can be some kind of connection made there. Like I said, though, there are four members of Mafia (unless Vig/Doc are stupidly lucky) so it's a bit of a stretch to make that kind of connection. In this scenario, one of Lupin's buddies would have gone "nah people will connect you to Anto" and so on. The fact that there are four members of Mafia means that I sincerely doubt that any kind of connection can actually be made off the kill target as of right now. Tomorrow I'm all for it but, as Town, we should be basing our Night 1 discussions on the reports of our investigative roles. The fact that we've reached this point and have nothing implies that they unfortunately only have Innocents but, as I've explained previously, this can still be good for Town if they message their Innocents.

Realistically, today's lynch target will probably end up semi-random as tomorrow is the critical day where we'll have four investigation results, Mortician will have done some work and we'll have two dead people to garner evidence from.

I am pretty surprised at the near total lack of discussion. I know we don't have much to work on but we still do have things.

@Everyone: Who are your top two suspicions as of right now? Gonna keep it to two as I think most people would stretch for three. Mine are personally CTurtle and AN2.

CTurtle: has posted quite a bit but has basically only posted meaningless fluff which, to me, gives off the illusion of wanting to appear helpful rather than actually being helpful. More to the point, I dislike the way he says in post #22 that he's going throw an "actual random vote" onto someone then explains in his very next post that it is, in fact, not random. What's the point of saying it's random to immediately contradict that?

AN2: Anto has only two posts (if you count the bold formatting stuff as one post) and is the only poster on Page 2 that basically ignored the discussion entirely. Lupin is also somewhat guilty of this but at least his vote on Colly has reasoning behind it.

I know my vote is Colly and he's not here but that's just to encourage a post of some sort when he comes online again (which he hasn't done since this started) so my vote will probably just move elsewhere after he replies. Incidentally, we currently have three votes on Colly - bear in mind that with the Charismatic Villager, that could be potentially four so only two more votes could lynch a guy who's not even in the game yet so be aware.

24 hours until deadline and discussion has been scarce so far.
I'm extending the deadline to 48 hours from now Saturday, December 10th, @ 8:00PM GMT.

If activity doesn't pick up, the game will be postponed.

Hi

One thing I will say is that I know I have a small fan club in the game atm

Vote: Blue Persil

As for top two suspicions:
Fighta - No voting isn't really encouraged this game, so unless you want to take the penalties, which I don't approve of, there's a good chance you're going to have to prepare yourself to hop on a lynch that isn't exactly solid.

Cturtle - If you're gonna vote for someone with reason give an explanation, no need to hold off even the flimsiest of reasons until someone asks (referring to your interaction with Jonty on the first page)

Those are good points. I think that it comes down to how bad I am in early game. Right now I'm not too sure how to go about things right now. All I really can do is just come up with as many theories as I can and see what direction they go. The two theories definitely are polar opposites but I think that they can be more relevant later in the game. But you are right about how little contribution they're making, all it was was me just throwing ideas at the wall, so I'll try thinking things through better. The idea of the "random vote" was to put a slight bit more pressure on Lupin and see how he reacted to having 2 votes him rather than just one. I should have just made that more clear and I'm sorry about that. Lupin just seemed to rub it off so. I don't feel the need to be suspicious of him right now. In terms of who I'm suspicious of I think it's actually really hard to choose but I think I'd feel more at ease if Jeshter would do a bit more talking as well.

Yeah would love to see more posts from Jeshter for sure. Dunno why people are being so quiet. Is there a vote count btw @EOE?

I kinda get what you're saying CTurtle - early game is definitely one of the weirdest points to play. Explaining your rationale is fine - I suspected it was something like that - but I just wanna call attention to this before people go "well CTurtle's posting a lot of good stuff, that's pretty town-y" cuz stuff =/= good stuff.

For now, Colly has posted (what's with the Blue Persil vote btw?) and he's contributed so now I'm just gonna vote through all the people who have contributed nothing useful to Town until everyone's actually done something. Not gonna let coasters away with it this game.

VOTE: Jeshter

Right, I'm reasonably happy with Colly's contribution for now.

As for my top 2 suspicions right now, I'm going to say that Cturtle and Blue Persil have been sticking out to me.

Cturtle: Relatively mundane points made, but he didn't seem too townie to me last game at the start either. I think Colly hit it on the head when he said that he's "trying to make himself seem helpful". Perhaps I'll change my vote to him later depending on what information comes forward.

BP: I've seen him lurking several times today, and when his only post is a question about the game rule I'm inclined to think that he's sitting back stroking a cat menacingly watching rng votes unfold. Either that or he's still typing. If his play style in Smash is like it is in mafia, he's waiting for me to approach him offensively so he can retaliate and show me why I shouldn't do that. I'd like to see that and put my vote on him.

If I'm gonna be penalised for no voting I'm gonna throw them out there a bit more liberally really, no strong reasons other than pressure

But if you were going to throw out a pressure vote, why not do it on one of the people you said you were most suspicious of? Surely it'd be a better idea to try to push them for a reaction. You also called EndlessRain out for doing the same thing last game, what's different this time?

I called him out last game because 1: He outright said he would vote for Verdant then didn't and 2: There was solid basis for him to vote for his suspicions. The people I have listed are hardly strong suspects, more just the ones who have stood out a little more.
BP also had less to add to the game than anyone else so far so I want to hear from him. We've a fairly small game so we actually have a good opportunity to get info out of all of the game's payers.

@kerbykong I don't know where you're getting that idea from what I said to Cturtle but I was not implying he's trying to make himself helpful. I don't see how I implied that in my post at all.
That's also not really a mindset I agree with. Contributions are going to be weak for the most part DP1, and making people afraid to give ideas out of fear that their contributions will be seen as false isn't the way to go about things in my eyes.

Careful with the votes, I'm potentially one vote away from being lynched.

I haven't said much because I jut haven't seen much to go on. I guess Jonty seemed a bit suspicious since he was the first one to use the randomiser for his vote. That would be the best way to avoid any kind of suspicious pattern or accountability.

My mistake, I meant Skarfelt.

I get that discouraging info isn't great for day 1 and I'm not trying to, but I'd like to see a deeper analysis of Cturtle's thought process this DP rather than just filler.

Sorry for not further contributing to the discussion, I have actually been reading everything. I just feel at this stage in the game it's mainly one to one interactions and getting people to talk etc. so I don't really feel I have much to add personally. Right now my top two suspects are loosely Cturtle and Skarfelt, I've yet to see Skarfelt defend himself - because no one has accused him - which is far from definitive but there's really not much to go on this early.

As for Cturtle, I'm reasonably happy with his defense, but kerbykong's rebuttal was strong enough for his potential guilt to outweigh the other vague thoughts I have. Colly doesn't seem remotely guilty at this stage so I'll change my vote to Skarfelt to stir up conversation.

I've only played aggro so far because I've had no votes on me. Now there are votes on me - one for making a random vote during random voting stage (something that everybody else also did) and one for not defending myself from nonexistent evidence. So yeah, no comment.

Moving onwards, we have to be aware that our deadline is quite close. Even though we technically have forty-eight hours, most of the game will be away at Christmas Carnage on Saturday so it may be an idea to cast our votes more carefully. As BP said, he's nearly at lynch amount for inactivity alone. I say all this with total hypocrisy as my vote remains on Jeshter for inactivity but that's also admittedly because I haven't decided who I want to commit to yet. I've still got my eye on CTurtle and AN2. Would really love to see a post from the latter in the near future so I can feel comfortable swapping votes for the deadline soon.

Ya, but you were the first. The others just played follow the leader. There's also the possibility that you're Mafia and you know Cturtle is town, so you vote for him and then say it's because his number came up randomly.

Using an RNG website seems poor practice in general. Votes are supposed to help us learn something about who casts them, but RNG means that we don't learn anything.
