As opposed to sitting on our asses, while they continue to attack us at will with no retaliation. |

In that case, maybe we should have focused our money and effort at the people who actually attacked us, and not invaded Iraq under a false pretense, costing billions of dollars and thousands of lives. |

Iraq provoked America too invade, they didn't listen to the League of Nations or any shit. There were many problems in the Middle East and America hoped to land a foothold quick, what was planned as to liberate Iraq, turned into a Civil War with America sandwhiched in the middle. |

Iraq's nuclear program was far behind North Korea or even Iran. If this "pre-emptive strike" had any validity, where are the pre-empetive strikes on these two othe rogue nations that are CONFIRMED to have weapons of mass destruction. Saddam was most definately un-cooperative with the U.N. weapon inspections, but there are reasons for this. Saddam was, at the time, starting to lose political face and credibilty in the eyes of his populace. He feared that the time had come, and he was soon to be ousted to power. What his people wanted was a strong nation, which Saddam had promised them. Now, to Saddam, this was an insult to his nation, and he did NOT want to appear weak in the eyes of his people and his sub-ordinates. He could not afford it. Eventually, he would be toppled anyway, but he had plenty of reason to want to resist inspections from the U.N. Not because of WMD's (He didn't have any anymore.), but because of the atrocities he committed against Shia muslims and the Kurds in the north. To what extent he had demonized his own people was not fully known until after his regime was toppled. |

looking at it that way I feel that the republicans might be in the right, but I just can't trust a party that will say anything to conservative christians to get re-elected. Even though I think most of the repubs are just playing the christians, I can't trust a party that believes abortion is murder and gay marriage is so great a problem that we must make an ammendment to our constitution. |

Abortion after 2 months IS murder, anyway you look at it. And yes, the Republicans are rather two-faced to the evangelical Christians. They play the game of I scratch your back, you scratch mine with them out front. but behind closed doors, the Republicans see them as crazy nut jobs. It's sad when a sizeable vote pool is used this way, and they don't have the self-respect to know they are being used and see the Republicans for what they are: Lying, corrupt sacks of shit. |

This war is really basically Bush's fault. He just rushed to conclusions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction when he didn't even bother sending in spies to observe when other UN nations asked him to. |

I am republican...and I like the fact that they spend money on defense...I for one beleive in Peace through strength like Raegan use to say. There are always gonna be countries who wanna F u up. Ie. the whole efin middle east so its best we stay strong and not in the sissy hands of the dems, the only thing they can do is tax us more and spend it on useless enane shit. People like kerry, ted kennedy and hilary are more naive then a amish about techonology. |
