I feel that this whole story is completing being blown out of proportion. He made a simple, idiotic joke. And blacks flip out and call him a racist. This is funny because it reminds me of a game I used to play called Socom. On it, there were always black people saying "nigger" this and "cracker" that and "whiteboy" whatever, and they are not kidding around when they use these words. And one time, I decided to call a white person, a nigger, joking around of course. A black person heard me say it and goes "you shouldn't use that word". And I go "why? its just a word." And the black continued to argue with me, saying that "you would never say that in front of my face", and "your a racist." I am no racist. I find the word "nigger" very funny as well do blacks find the many words they use hysterical. Don Imus should not have been FIRED let alone even suspending for saying "nappy headed hoes". Blacks are just over anxious to start problems. Thats how they are for everything. |

This is one reason I think black people are idiots. Don Imus, a white male, calls a black women's basketball team "nappy headed hoes." Some black people complain, he loses his job. But a black comedian can call white people crackers and have absolutely nothing done to him. A bit hypocritical, no? Oh, and about black slavery. Indians and Hispanics were enslaved for decades longer than Africans. You don't hear either of those ethnic groups bitching. |

 well i can say when theres blacks around me saying nigger this and nigger that why do they get offended when a white person sez it? all imus said was "nappy" and called them hoes. This was funny to me, a news station did an interview and talked to someone who owned a beauty salon and they asked if they were offended, they of course said yes and blah blah blah...THE SALON WAS CALLED "NAPPY CUTS" !!!!! |

Wow. Are you guys seriously implying that Don Imus can go on national T.V., MSNBC no less, and call the Rutgers girls basketball team, (which is a fine basketball team I might add), a group of "Nappy Headed Hoes", and expect to not have to face any sort of repercussions for his words? If so, then Wow. Seriously, there are indeed websites like this that all but ruin any crediblity good people like Al Sharpton gain for their movement, but there are incidents occuring these days that aren't just overblown cries for attention from this minority. This Don Imus incident is a perfect example of a loud reaction from the black community that can be justified pretty soundly. I found his comments pretty fucking appalling to say the least. Sure, we have black comedians who throw around racists punchlines in their routines. But these comments are said in a humorous and relaxed setting, when you are obviously supposed to be their with an open mind. Hell, I have seen plenty of acts from white men throwing around the "N" word in their routines. No big deal. It's comedy. But don't compare comedic routines with the offensive and racists remarks said about a popular basketball team on national television by an arguably famous talk show host/comedian in a professional setting. There's no comparison. I mean seriously, did you hear what he said? It's not like he just made some obscure and/or cryptic references to their ethnicity playing a part in their obvious ability to play great basketball. He didn't just say something like, "Those girls sure got good genes.", or "These blacks can sure play basketball!" or something along those lines. He called them, I repeat, NAPPY HEADED HOES! Does that sink in with you? He didn't simply berate and degrade them as a race, he called them WHORES to boot! And he said this of girls who had done nothing more than playing excellent basketball but losing. What is the justification in that? Are these really appropriate remarks for a more or less well known man such as Don Imus to make? Are these insensitive, belittling comments really acceptable by your standards? And let's not forget who we are talking about here. This is Don Imus, as big of a closet racist as there can be. Racist, sexist, homphobic, you name it. A textbook bigot. This guys has been making controversial remarks for years, whos victims have ranged from Blacks to Jews to Roman Catholics. Is this a guy you really want to defend? In my opinion, it's about time this guy learned that mouthing off ill-conceived, offensive remarks like that can come back to smack you right in the ass. |
