I won't pick a religion that relies on blind faith, and a fictional and varied account of a prophet written centuries after his death. Sorry. If I'm wrong and Christianity is the one true religion, it sure sucks for those few billion people who died before the birth of Christ, huh? And for those millions who have never been exposed to Christianity, I assume that they are all going to hell too. If God wants to send me to hell for acting morally and following codes of logic, so be it. You'd think he'd want those who can think for themselves in heaven, not sheep. Before you try to defend yourselves, how many of you devout followers are following a religion that wasn't beat into you since birth? Or even one that may not be the religion of your parents? I doubt there's a single one of you. |

i don't think you go to hell just for not believing. You go to hell for things like murder. If you don't believe, but are relatively decent, don't you just get stuck in purgatory? You don't get to go into heaven. And i remember sunday school where they told us about the millions before Christ died, who had to wait in purgatory before Christ could let them in. Sucks to be Noah :/ |

blah blah blah I believe that religion exists only to give those hope that there IS "life" after death. There are MILLIONS of relgions throughout this world...who is to say that the religion you beileve in will lead to the "ultimate salvation" or "enlightenment". When you think about what the bible "literally" says, it doesn't make alot of sense. For instance...the world is over 4 billion years old, yet the bible claims the earth to be only 3,000 years old...God states that the return of christ will not occur until every ear has heard of him...this is just NOT POSSIBLE. Think about the MILLIONS of isolated areas on this planet where the civilized world has yet to touch these parts; the tribes in africa, dessert peoples of the sahara...when will they ever hear of "god" and "christianity"...will christ ever return? Ask yourself how many different relgions you can name off of the top of your head...and then, go in depth about that religions views...what, you can only name off 10 religions...yet you cannot elaborate in depth on a single ONE of these religions???...the same can be said for the rest of the world when asked about "chrstianity" and the substance of this relgion...so will christ ever return??? Is christ a mere myth constructed to give those hope that something more lies beyond the blankness of death? Ask this yourselves this; what do you remember before you were born...surely this world existed...and people went about there lives as you go about yours today...SO, what happens AFTER DEATH...will you return to that void that you CANT even remember before your birth???...or is there something more out there...What of evolution vs. creationism...evolution is now as widely accepted as the theory of gravity...so what does this say for man being created of a higher being...HOWEVER; Einstein himself believed there to be a "higher power"...even thought the universe guides itself towards never ending entropy einstein stated that the universe, this world, is too organized to have come to fruition through mere chance...I for one am torn on this subject...and I am sure I will be plagued the rest of my days with these questions... I pray every day, that there is something more. |

All you need is an introductory Anthropology class to understand that God did not create the world in "six days and rested on the seventh". |

Yeah, they teach exactly how powerful God is in introductory Anthropology, he can only create worlds and species, not actually what's in the world's terrain. Think before you post please. |

"they teach exactly how powerful God is in introductory Anthropology" No but they teach you about introductory evolution..which contradicts what most people believe. I did not say they teach you how powerful God is, but if we are to take Christianity, for example, most of the Biblical records about the founding of the earth or how it was created is contradicted on the first lesson of an Anthropology class. "God did not create the world in "six days and rested on the seventh" This is what I said and since you can't seem to comprehend well, it just means that the records on the Bible are well off and do not coinscide with how the Earth or how Humans really evolved. Nothing in my post has anything to do with "how powerful God is in introductory anthro", on contraire it suggests that God is not powerful and is not real. "Think before you post please" I'll leave this part to you, since you seem quite experienced at making assumptions and blatant posts. |

Can you contradict a single thing there? You're speaking out of your ass, and it's obvious. In any case, your argument (which I presume, though you're free to correct me, to be about various layers of rock and segmented layers of the earth) is futile to a Christian, he or she can simply say that God created those things to be such. |

Sort of off topic but I just wanted to say that there are plenty of evolutionary biologists who are Christians. |
