I don't know if anyone has really been paying attention to this, but the internet group Anonymous has been protesting Scientology all day, all across the world. They came out in Australia, then Amsterdam, then London, then somewhere in Ireland, now Boston, New York, Toronto. Basically everywhere people are protesting the 'cult of scientology'. Any thoughts on this? I've been following it very closely. |

Possibly they're starting with the most clearly bogus religion, and then they'll move on to Christianity. Wishful thinking, perhaps. Religious freedom is one thing, but when people's entire lives are shaped in ignorance from it, it's a shame. I love this quote: "With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil- that takes religion." - Nobel Laureate Steven Weinberg |

Well, most of the motivation came from the attempted censorship of the Tom Cruise video that was released when it wasn't supposed to be. If there's one thing Anon hates its censorship and people taking themselves too seriously, and the CoS did both of these. Theres also a lot of internal conflict about the protest, half of them think its a bad idea, the others think its a good idea. I doubt they'd move onto another religion after this one. Too much effort. The protests are going to happen again next month though. That's Ron L. Hubbards birthday. |

Scientology is just a world of bullshit. I heard it's beliefs are closely related to that of Christianity. And what's funny is that Will Smith, and Tom Cruise are in the Church of Scientology. Sad. Here's a video showing the truth about scientology and their crazy beliefs. http://youtube.com/watch?v=rCGP-0545EU&feature=related And yes, it cites their sources. The fact is, the Church of Scientology, made from L Ron. Hubbard, was made to get their members money. Tom Cruise said that it takes $333,000,000 to finish the mission of a Scientologist and complete the 8 retarded steps. |
