What if everyone was continually reborn, our energy returned to the earth or a different plain of existence and we would be stuck in this cycle until our energy "mind" has reached a certain level, what if when we dream we are really just trying to escape this world and return back to our home world, imagery nonexistent. Where we go i don't know what happens it doesn't really matter what does matter is to enjoy the time you have here. Cats can see things we can't think their schizophrenic? Drugs alter the mind look who tested out many psychedelics the my-ans "duno bout spelling" 2012? hmm interesting shit so we found 3 or 4 crystal skulls not sure but there are 12 |

I think that Human Beings are such incapable creatures. I'm pretty sure that we aren't ment to know any of this no matter what, and it's pretty stupid to think of such things like Going to heaven as babies and what happens. Our mentality is so limited that we can't possible know things like that, we are so inferior. There are so many great mysteries in this planet that can't be explained yet. I'm sure you would agree Tonic, that just because we can't think of a way for things to happen, that they aren't true. We can't possibly grasp the ideas of such things, that doesn't make them impossible. Also for the statement that you made about why we're the only living creatures to get to be "revived" I think is wrong. Haven't you ever heard people say 'I hope i'm a dog in my next life'? Maybe the idea of being reborn doesn't just apply to people. If you have a pet, shit you never know, maybe it's somebody living their 'afterlife'. but i think if you believe in being reborn again, you go against the teachings of the bible n such. (correct me if im wrong) It's pretty fucking hard to think that when you die...you just rot and nothing happens. Go ahead, try it right now. Just trying to think about it breaks my brain, it's like impossible. You're fuckin conscience has to go somewhere, to another world, shit idk, it can't just stop there...wtf? Maybe there is a life after this one, or before. Have you ever had deja-vu? Haven't you thought to yourself "Holy shit, I've fucking been here before!" but you're positive you never have? Maybe you were there on your past life. Truly, I think that about 99% of humans won't go to heaven. I'm reading a book im sure most of you have heard about, or read, called "The Divine Comedy". And if you read the Inferno Cantos, you would know that most of us have done atleast one thing worthy of being in hell, this civilization is so fucked up its almost impossible not to go to hell. I personally thought that Earth itself was "The Purgatory" before I read this book, of course this book isn't Proven Facts, so maybe my theory is true. I mean, the Purgatory is a place where you amend for your sins in your past life, so you can go to heaven right? We'll maybe thats why we're put on this earth. We all suffer sooooo much here....maybe we were really bad in our past life, and I think that after we're done amending for our sins, We die, and go to Heaven. Maybe that's why some people die at a Short Age, Maybe Kids that get shot are done amending, and God is ready to receive them. Or maybe people that are really bad just get sent straight to hell. I think that earth is a place to reform yourself before you choose your destination (Heaven or Hell). Maybe that's why religion was put on this earth, we were given the resources to either believe or not, do the right thing or not, and choose our own path to our afterlife. Like demagog said, we have no idea what heaven is like....Thats why i cant wait to read this book about heaven, I want to see how Dante Describes it. But Regardless, I'm sure no matter how hard you think about it, it is beyond your imagination. Maybe Animals Do go to heaven you don't know....It truly is a mistery, and we aren't ment to find it out. No sense in thinking about it. |

For demagog, Just because you believe in "God" and will go straight to heaven, doesn't mean it will happen. Every human being have done wrong deeds in their lives, are you the person to repent to God at your church for your sins or crimes? If so, then possibly you will go to Heaven. But keep in mind, the average person with "faith" in God do not repent at their local church. All they say is "I have faith in God" or "I believe in God". That itself is not enough to get into the King of Heaven. Face it... now days who has the time to go to the church to spill out their guts to some dude behind the screen? Not only is it embarassing, you will feel awkward as hell. I went in to confess my sins before, and I'm telling you, it's not easy to be in that spot. It was hard for me because i couldn't remember all that bad things i've done in the past 5 years of my life, and i ended up making lies to the priest in order to gain "salvation"... I'm not especially fond of it, but I will never sit in a box and spill my guts out to someone that will NOT lead me to God.. Everything that happens is between ME and GOD himself, there should be no one else that i should be talking to about when it comes to sins or crimes that i could of prevented. However, I don't really REALLY believe in God or all that "heaven/hell" crap.. I don't believe the bible and it's garbage sprewin nonsense. I believe that it is just to keep us from doing the wrong things, and give us the sense of choice. We can make any decision we want. Heaven or hell doesn't matter, just live life your best and try to be a considerate human being toward others. Dying for me is something i need to experience, but it isn't near the top of my list because i still have things to do. As long as I have years to look forward to, i would not choose to just end my life just to see what happens, It can wait. So really dying shouldn't be that necessary important to you unless you're so afraid of it. For me, I'm not scared of dying, which gives me a new outlook on things such as being able to accomplish things easier because I've gotten over one of the biggest fears known to mankind. You don't stress, you relax easier, and life just doesn't seem so hard. I see the world different.. that is why I'm able to accomplish ahead of others in Starcraft and in my personal life. |

According to my beliefs, you're right, you can't just believe in God and go straight to heaven. You have to believe in God and confess that you are a sinner and accept the gift of God's son (Jesus) dying on the cross for your sins. Every human being has done wrong, but you aren't the person who has to be held responsible for it because you accepted that Jesus died for all of that. Christians don't believe you have to go to church and repent to a priest for all of your sins, but Catholics do. Christians believe that once Jesus died, the "curtain" between man and God was torn (stated in the Bible), which allowed man to pray to God directly. According to the Bible, you cannot just say "I have faith in God" or "I believe in God" and go to heaven, there is more. We also don't believe you have to confess every single one of your sins. God knows what you did, and if you ask for forgiveness, you are granted forgiveness. I'm not trying to push anything on you, I'm just sharing what Christians (me), believe. |

Lemme answer this quote, with another one of your quotes. (From the 2012 topic, while u were arguing about global warming) Tonic: Holy shit you rampaging retard, were bacteria not real before they were proven to exist? Did Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter, and Saturn not exist before they were discovered? I thought you were smarter than that. |

So in other words, empirical science is stupid. Believing that something exists until it is proven wrong is not only ridiculous, but also lazy. it's easy to claim that something exists with the only "evidence" being that it cannot be proved to not exist. Proving something doesn't exist is, for all intents and purposes, impossible. Therefore, until clear evidence supporting soemthing can be shown, why should it be considered to exist? Sould resources be spent pursuing every possible alternative to every solution, viable or not? With your philosophy, every theory has equal credence until it is disproved. If your philosophy was prevalent in our society, then nothing would get done. We can rule out unlikely possibilities which help determine the real cause. Some time ago, lightning was believed to have been caused by a enraged Thor beating his mighty hammer or whatever. We know now that this is not the cause, but have we disproved the God theory? No, but we have other evidence explains the natural phenomenon. Is it stupid then then to "imagine" that Thor doesn't exist? Should we believe every single thing that people might conjure up in their heads simply because they are impossible to disprove? Be serious. |

I'm glad you avidly follow my posts and can recall one of them in particular so quickly. Even so, you're wrong. I'll explain the difference, if you're unable see it yourself. We know these things by hindsight. There were probably many theories explaining why organic matter decomposed, but only the ones with enough supporting evidence were pursued. There was evidence directing the research that led to the discovery of these things. However, they were not considered proven until they were observed directly under a microscope or a telescope. God, on the other hand, does not require evidence because he is supposedly omniscient and supreme. See the difference? God is invoked to explain just about everything, but as science progresses, we discover the nature of more and more previously unexplained phenomena. You can continue to use God to explain things we don't understand yet, but that doesn't make it true. Until the God hypothesis can be supported with evidence, it's just another hypothesis, and there are better theories available. There's a difference between theorizing and imagining. One relies on evidence and the other does not. I am not saying that your God and any God doesn't exist, but that it's not evidenced by anything. Until it is supported by some evidence, why should we believe it? Should we believe in magical trolls that live in your shoes at night? Bacteria and planets are falsifiable. God is not falsifiable. You miss my point, most specifically: "proven." Obviously we tier theories, but we do so based on evidence, which is not proof. |

Are we really going to play semantics here? Nothing can be absolutely proven, but an abundance of evidence for one theory leads to a general acceptance of that theory, and a lack of evidence for a theory leads to a dismissal of it. Notice I said dismissal of it and not a denial of it. The distinction is important, since a dismissal of a theory means that it's not a testable, viable means of explaining something. God is an untestable, unfalsifiable theory to explain pretty much everything. Since this cannot be disproven, yet no evidence exists for God that cannot be considered evidence for all the myriad of competing baseless theories, then it cannot be accepted as an explanation. In short, if we are trying to explain lightning, we can't ultimately provide evidence that God doesn't cause lightning, but we can provide evidence that something else does. When you leave your garbage in front of your house and the next morning it is spilled over and some bags are torn, you can examine the footprints, claw marks, and fur present at the scene and come to the reasonable conclusion that a raccoon is the culprit. You can't prove that a magical flying dragon didn't vandalize your garbage, and you can't absolutely prove that it was definitely a raccoon. Which philosophy would you consider prudent for society? Well Arent we some fuckin scientists hahahaha...Anyways...I could "recall" your posts, because i read the threads back to back, so it wasnt so hard. Anyways, we'll Until they Prove that God doesn't exist, Which like you said is impossible, then people will continue to believe and "imagine" that God is real. Like the racoon story, we don't know for sure who or what caused the trash can to fall over and blah blah, but if a person wants to believe that a dragon came and knocked it over, then they have the right to do so lol wether its right or wrong. "Ignorance is bliss" i guess. |

Yes people will continue to believe in God and many other things. Did I ever say people didn't have the right to believe what they want? I said that God is a hypothesis that lies outside the realm of science, along with the tooth fairy, the boogeyman, and whatever else you want to throw out there. People can believe what they want, but that doesn't make it true. Nor untrue. Just outside of the confines of science, and therefore not acceptable as an explanation for anything that does lie within the realm of scientific analysis. The problem is when people try to invoke these supernatural entities to explain things which we have other considerable amounts of falsifiable and testable evidence to support. It doesn't work. People can believe it's true, but in the application of our knowledge it is useless. And no I'm not a scientist. It's called reading a book. Try it sometime. Also, why is the word "recall" in parentheses in your post? Edited by Tonic, Fri Sep 4, 2009 11:59 am.
