Well, I googled !0x12, and I the first result brings me here http://www.developerfusion.co.uk/forums/p/.../115577/#115577 It says 0x12 (minus the !) is the ASCII code for "Device Control 2." So I search Device Control 2 on dictionary.com http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Device%20Control%202 Definition: The mnemonic for ASCII character 18, one of the four Device Control characters. I clicked on Device Control and it brought up: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Device+Control Definition: One of the four ASCII characters, DC1, DC2, DC3, and DC4, once used to remotely control equipment (e.g. a paper tape reader) via electromagnetic switches. The characters were usually paired, DC1/DC3 turning one device on/off, and DC2/DC4 another. [Other examples of equipment?] I'm no programmer or anything, but turning a device on/off or a switch could be a hack, right? Like F5 in Apocalypse? It makes sense to me that !0x12 = hack, since it only seems to show up in hackers, and this definition seems to fit that description. Remember, Apocalypse has always had a bunch of weird things that gave it away that they end up fixing. This, the weird Asian characters in one version that show up for no apparent reason other than to give you away. What do you guys think? |

I guess one way to find out for sure is to check reps of people you KNOW are legit (like KLiT) and see if they ever get the same kind of thing, then check all the sketchy people. Then maybe have someone constantly load RTOH or something to see if it pops up for them. it may have been fixed, though. |

I have done !0x12 in a game before, and I don't think I hack :/ I'll search for a rep of one. |

I've never done it before. As far as I know, !0x12 is just a memory location. Hacks usually edit memory locations in order to get information or change things around, so I'd say it's pretty likely. |

Apoc and Rtoh are the same prog, just a different name cuz patch went from 1.14 to 1.15 or 1.15 to 1.15.1 or something lol. Everybody I thought hacked usually had that atleast once on BWChart, it was never around any other time, its not caused by Savor's SA cuz its a memory location and SA is just a script not editing anything. It would have to be a multi program that did unusual things like Apoc if anything. It started to happen almost every game once Apoc/Rtoh was released. Barely ever before. It was also seen alot during melee if you did Zerg mineral hacks or Multicommand or something of the sort.
Take a look, this man has done some research.. to just quote the main part.
Pure guess, but I think it is caused by a program which helps you not disconnect when hacking, or lowers the chance of it being detectable. Like mentioned in that thread, "Warden Workaround" which came out when 1.15 did and Warden was a big deal. Similar things are used still to make you undetectable on BWChart and what not. |

So, see. The definition matches perfectly: Definition: One of the four ASCII characters, DC1, DC2, DC3, and DC4, once used to remotely control equipment (e.g. a paper tape reader) via electromagnetic switches. The characters were usually paired, DC1/DC3 turning one device on/off, and DC2/DC4 another. [Other examples of equipment?] Sounds clear to me. |

So what it comes down too is Fcuk hacked. Right? And if this is Locked or Rami, that means one of them was hacking. Right? |

If it were something like Winamp, it would show up for tons of people. Conveniently, however, this only shows up on people suspected to have hacked. |
