I want an honest opinion from everyone on what they think the pros and cons are for each current sniper map. The most commonly used maps as of late are:

Solar's: v335b
DaMeiN's: v336FINAL
eG_G's: Anti-Hack v1.0
][-][uRRiCaNe's: Snipers: Classic v 3.4

Solar's v335B

Pros
Started the whole Side-Switch implement into maps.

Cons
Does not give options for triggers.
--------------------------------------------------------------
DaMeiN's v336FINAL

Pros
Allows you to pick exactly what options you desire

Cons
No drifts were fixed, took too long to perfect.
-------------------------------------------------------------
eG_G's Anti-Hack v1.0

Pros
None

Cons
Copied from Solar's map, no trigs really editted, just changed the name.
.. EVERYTHING ..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hurricane's Snipers Classic v3.4

Pros
Altered terrain is nice, triggers run smoothly, MVP Calc is nice

Cons
Dislike the drifts, NL's break more often on the map.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bleh, why does everybody host this map instead of others? Is it just because it says "Anti-Hack"? <_<

I want an honest opinion from everyone on what they think the pros and cons are for each current sniper map. The most commonly used maps as of late are:

Solar's: v335b
DaMeiN's: v336FINAL
eG_G's: Anti-Hack v1.0
][-][uRRiCaNe's: Snipers: Classic v 3.4

Solar's: v335b
Pros:
Nothing stands out to me, a standard map with side switch.
Cons:
Colors are awful, you can't see the funny blue or the purple on the minimap easily.

DaMeiN's: v336FINAL
Pros:
Replay speed change possible thanks to death counters.
Cons:
Too many options, 95% of the games use the same ones and it's annoying.

eG_G's: Anti-Hack v1.0
Fuck egg, he can't mapmake worth shit.

][-][uRRiCaNe's: Snipers: Classic v 3.4
Pros:
Best triggering, smooth games.
New version of MVP counter is invisible, quick, efficient.
(Can you speed replays of this up?)
Cons:
Some terrain should be fixed, still drifty as shit.
Doesn't really change anything.

And because I want to:
FaZ-'s ++ Locks
Pros:
OI
Very few severe drifts, almost all terrain is what people are used to.
No mid-respawn spam.
Cliffs are both unblocked
Cons:
Never got side switch working.
Uses waits, can't speed change replays.
Has been bitched about by SouL and other pig-headed individuals before they tried it or anything like it.
Most people don't like me, so clearly my map/ideas must be bad.
I don't think there's a tiebreaker...?

If anyone wants my terrain I'd be happy to see it used. There are just a couple of spots that need to be revamped. Klit's Professional version with that terrain, minus the stupid anti-sit, plus OI, if you can change replay speed, is the ideal map to me.

I pretty much agree with FaZ-, except I have more to add for DaMeiN's map:

Pro: It's the only one of those maps thats also compatible with Vanilla. Speaking specifically about v337b

Cons: The triggers are very rushed, it sometimes drops people for no reason, sends people back behind the spawn at side-switch, etc. Also speaking about v337b.

Solar's map:
pros - normal terrain everyones used to, side switch that works
cons - no respawn at side switch if you died at 15:01, i like teal more than purple

eG_G's map:
exactly the same as solar's map..

Damein's map:
pros - can get a headstart on people who dont know the trick ^.-
cons - too many options, very annoying flag capture and return triggers

Owns Hackers
To FaZ-: You can speed up and slow down replays at will on Classic 3.4.

Snipers Classic v3.4
Pros

  • Fairness played a big part into making this map. A big factor that illustrates this point is the fact that when a flag hasn't been returned at half-time, then the half continues until the flagger is dead or returns the flag. All other maps end the game at 0:00 which puts a disadvantage on the first half of play. This map allows game-play to be played just like the first half in the second half.
  • The MVP Calculator allows for a quick analysis and displays the MVP of the game. This is beneficial for leagues, tournaments, etc. It also eliminates possible human error.
  • Each respawn has an equivalent chance of being selected. Not to mention the fact that it drastically cuts down on mid spamming.
  • The crazy drifts that occur near respawns that were in Damein's maps have been elimnated. There can be no glitch-free maps. I re-did the entire terrain for this map in an effort to minimize the drifts, but there are some on the map. What I did was try to move the ones that were in terrible spots. Learn to use them to your advantage.
  • This map has the most efficient triggering to date. The entire trigger interface was created from scratch to cut out the hundreds of unneccessary triggers, and to make the actions clean and glitch-free.
  • The medals and bonus' are now more realistic. You no longer get 3 bonus' for getting like 8 kills. In addition, the medals increase in difficulty exponentially as you climb the ladder.
Cons

  • The learning curve for the new terrain is somewhat steep.[/B] The more you practice this map though, the more I think you will appreciate why the terrain was constructed this way. I was not just randomly putting in glitches on the walls. I selectively put the glitches in so they could be used more strategically.
Snipers Anti-Hack v1.0:
Pros

  • Nothing except the fact that he copied someone else's map and some of those elements still exist to drown out the horrible things he did to it.
Cons

  • He falsely runs around saying the Anti-Hack is 100% unhackable. This is a total lie, and it is quite sad he tries to use this argument.
  • The sound effects are rather annoying. You get bombarded with horribly put together sound effects during the briefing and in the middle of the game. Not to mention his scrolling text entrance blocks your first few remarks to your partner for an opening setup to attack your opponents.
  • He totally plagarized the map in every way possible. Then puts cS's name all over it, what a joke.
v335b and v336
Pros

  • It's what everyone is used to. Nothing has really changed among the terrain and triggering so everyone is used to this style of map.
  • Versatility in Damein's map to play different modes is handy. Some people looking to mess around and have fun can utilize the features of his map.
Cons

  • The side switch features seem to be inefficient. The removal and replacement of snipers is pretty sketchy.
  • Damien's map has many useless triggers that do nothing but bog down the maps coding. Theres nothing really to elaborate on here, just the fact that the game has to scan through all of those useless triggers which is probably the reason for the rather common bonus glitches on DK's. The map has to scan through the unneccessary triggers before it gets to the bonus one, and voila you get cheated out of a bonus.
  • The respawn drifts are horrible. When attempting to respawn someone on the right RS's your sniper is forced into an epic drift that totally defies all normal game-play actions.

That old tJpS lure map is another one that used to be plagiarized a lot. I remember LaRoCkO even slapped 3oD's name on it once and called it a 3oD lure map, lol.
