I think they plan on releasing all three WITHIN a year.

"We asked about the timeline for the three StarCraft II games, using Valve's original prediction of shipping all three episodes of the Half-Life 2 episodes within a single year, but reality is that it will take more than more like three years. Pardo thought that was a great example and said, "It's a little bit similar to that in that it would be great if we could have them follow one year from one another; I think that's going to be our target, but certainly that's not a promise in any way. But I think that's going to be around the realm that we're going to be hoping for."

learn to paraphrase nub makin me read that longass quote

Only thing that will definitely be on Sc2 is its own version of Dota...It's the only game that's been started on Sc and was carried over to War3 successfully.

And it's just as gay on every client. Risk Devolution on War3 was sick though. I was actually in RISK clan on war3 for a bit. And i liked battleships too...too bad DOTA had to kill every other map on it. >;\

Everyone who snipes here finds UMS more fun than melee

Not really :/ I actually enjoy melee much more than Ums games, I bought this game for the strategy melee, not to snipe. That was just something I stumbled upon.

I was going to release this earlier but had to go ha, fuckin skiD :(

And to all my other illegal downloaders, very handy tip for the future to save money. Buy the first one to get online, then just download the other 2 versions when they surface. You only will need 1 key to get online, and the storymode will be offline so a bogus key will work [instead of using the one providing w/ the jewel case] Im sure each version is going to have its own type of cd key to profit more. :] So quit complaining bout the 50+ for each game :P

@Ghosty and others, Blizzard has announced many times that Battle.net will and always will be free of cost, regardless of what games they tend to put on it.

Of course you originally bought it for Melee, and I didn't mean UMS in general, just this game for most people.

You're a liar if you tell me you Melee more than you snipe, because that's bullshit.

Over the years that I've played, I melee'd more than I sniped actually. Even when i sniped, after 2-3 games I'd get bored and melee for awhile. I don't find Ums games that amusing as most are just stupid in some sort of way. Snipers was the only competitive one. lol

fuck all that other garbage; Diplomacy, Dota, Bounds, etc.

Melee is only fun when you don't get completely dominated. I find early game most intense.. but then after a while I start to slack because nothing really happens..

However when something does happen it's soo epic ;o

lol if theres a time when nothing is happening, you're not playing anywhere close to good :P
Once you get the hang of it, you should be harassing or expo'n and trying to take out key units as much as possible.

Starcraft Dota isn't terrible, but I wasn't talking about that. Hero Wars is what Dota was based on and it came out on War3 before Dota

starcraft single unit war maps like dota are generally just based on what unit you are, and what time of damage they deal. an ultralisk will kill a ghost etc, and there are also no custom abilities which makes it pretty dumb

DotA was based on Aeon of Strife for SC from everything I've heard, it's been out for a while but it's not very good.

A very good DotA for StarCraft could be made simply using the dozen characters and handful of abilities from Custom Hero Wars, simply assigning a few to each unit and balancing. It would be a lot more fun than custom hero wars... Obviously you'd need to recreate the terrain, maybe use the terrain of the other new single hero map where you get 4 lives and go from northwest to southeast, I can't remember the name offhand, but it was decent. There's so many unexplored options in StarCraft mapmaking still.

It would be pretty easy, actually, probably only take a day or so, but I'm not doing it. =p

Nono. There's a point in the game where I stop losing units. Even if I attack, I'll stop losing units. That's when my macro fails, when I don't need to micro. In other words, the OTHER TEAM is being dominated. And therefor all I do is sweep.

Aeon of strife is nothing like Dota...You just get a hero and fight the computer....Hero wars is the same shit as dota with one lane. You have bonus gold for killing comp controlled units an actual element of players vs players and heroes.

I played a game of risk the other night on SC... it sucked... I'd prefer it to be turned based like classic risk, or same time risk, where you plan your movies before each round, then the computer would act out each move... the latter would be extremely complex on SC though.

What exactly is DoTA? I hear all this stuff about it. I recall seeing my cousin playing some WC3 UMS game a few years ago that sounds like what yall are talking about. You'd get a random hero and be on a team and try and destroy the base of the other team. Map orientation was one base in south west, other in north east. Is that what it is?

Yeah Dema, that's it. It's pretty basic microwise, I'd say 90% of the game is based on knowledge and strategy, and the other 10% on reflex and spell/unit targeting.
