Well i'v been thinking about how we've reached a dead halt for anti-hack in snipers, and I was revisiting the ideas that others have had in the past. I came across Savor's old idea of using a MOD for Snipers, where everyone has to load the MOD for the map to work. Otherwise they = Dropped. A MOD would be 1. Much easier to work with 2. Wider variety of anti-hack features 3. More features in general With a Mod you can do a TON of extra stuff, I mean have you seen SC mod maps? They are amazing! I only see one problem right now with that idea, and that's Warden. To Solve that their ARE private servers that you can play starcraft on. Idk i was bored and thinking about this... Thought it was a good idea, still do. Post tell me what you think, and why savor scrapped this idea. Cuz i know he had a map out, and a mod. |

I would most def, load this MOD to play If I wouldn't why the fuck would i bring it up? I didnt ask u to ridicule it, i asked for imput on the idea. "gl with sniper community" Exactly why do u not think they would? Honestly i only get on bnet 2 Snipe, and chat. I'd have no problem with MOD. @ helio a MOD, Or a modification map, would be Starcraft essentially but it would have some major changes, the ones that are most popular are the visual changes. IE, Marines shooting Goliath missiles or whatever. But with a MOD you can prevent other things from happening IE any other processes running in compliance with starcraft. *edit* Yo look here some bad ass conversions, Staredit Mods Really cool shit. |

I believe it's in the private forum called "Hybrid Project." In either case you'll obviously need to talk to SaVoR to get the source of the mod, and I doubt anyone here has the coding knowledge to prevent accompanying hacks. |

You don't code a MOD Faz... you simply edit properties, save them as .dat files, load the .dat files into a folder you want to be in the mod, compress the folder into a .mpq, and then convert the .mpq into a mod. It's REALLY easy to do. Hardest part is creating your own sprites. |

I think the version i was working on was version 323 that was the modification one. It was supposed to prevent /locate and the maphack. The idea is to make the crash unit the same as the unit we use to play snipers with, then you just make the sprite of the crash unit a ghost, so you get a more feel that its snipers again. You can adjust the unit properties so it will react exactly the same as a sniper also. The idea was scrapped because people didn't want to download the modification.. so i never fullly released the map. |
