Weed doesn't cure anything.
The latest and best research on the subject comes from the world's leading expert on the subject, Dr. Donald Tashkin of UCLA. His latest research shows that marijuana smokers actually have slightly lower rates of lung cancer than those who do not smoke marijuana. One possible reason for this is that the active ingredient in marijuana, THC, actually has anti-tumor properties. It is known to kill a variety of malignant tumors.

And also, it has more carcinogens than tobacco does.

I guess the last few posters are lacking mentally. That research stun posted was a very small study and isn't even acceptable. Not to mention it's the first link on google from fox news, not really research. I already said in my last post that cannibus fiber has been proven to cure breast cancer. For the last time stop making some bullshit argument that because a more harmful drug is legalized weed should be legalized. Firstly you cannot really compare danger as it is relative to each person. And by saying that marijuana should be legalized because another drug that is MORE dangerous is, is admitting that marijuana is harmful to the general public by some degree. Therefore they both should be illegal.

In addition to inhaling 12 hazardous agents that are also found in cigarettes, you also inhale an additional 21 that are created by smoking marijuana

Weed doesn't cure anything. It just soothes the pain of going through chemotherapy. And it doesn't prevent strokes or heart attacks. Marijuana literally suffocates your cells death. It blocks nutrients and wastes from going in and out of the cell. That's why potheads generally have weaker immune systems. And also, it has more carcinogens than tobacco does.

That sounds like a correlation at best, and correlation is not causation. Also, source?

Wikianswers... Which I don't think is too valid so I didn't bother to put it up.
Also, I propose a new question since most of us agree weed should be legalized.
Does marijuana help eliminate cancer or cause it?
Edit: Forgot this topic is going to be closed Monday. If you have an answer before that though, please post. =D

I took a biology class. Also my grandma was a microbiology professor. If you want to look into her books (there were 8) google Gwyndolyn W. Burton.

Oops made a typo and it's too late to edit post.
Gwendolyn, not Gwyndolyn.
Also she had a partner named Paul. Idr his last name. So if you see something with those 2 names, that's it. ^.^

I don't need sources on this I'm very well informed, besides all my information on this topic has come off me reading articles and such in the news and shoutwire.com.....I already said that the Dr.Tashkin shit is the first link in google.....In fact I think that is a direct sentence taken from the article...
I'll try to post an actual argument tomorrow, I'm just drained right now...

I found one book by both Gwendolyn W. Burton and Paul G. Engelkirk from searching Barnes & Nobles and Borders. Borders lists what I'm assuming is the latest edition since it was published in 2006. The details provided by Borders makes no mention of marijuana nor does clicking "Look Inside" and searching marijuana come up with any results. Maybe your information is from a different book or you aren't able to search the entire book. Either way, quoting an excerpt from a specific book is better than citing an author.

I mentioned the books so you didn't think I was pulling a random name out of my ass. And yes the last book was in 2006, but she couldn't finish it before dying and Paul finished it. I'm just saying I have accumulated knowledge about the effects from numerous credible sources, from highschool biology to physiology to my grandma, a microbiologist. And am I the only one who has ever asked their doctor about marijuana?

The best and worst thing about science, I guess, is that information we think is correct can be found to be wrong later. So unless you can provide a credible or at least current source, all you have are opinions.
Edit: Actually, let me clarify. Whatever information is current for a time can be found to be incorrect later. Also, the research of your grandmother does not conclude the two-sided findings on marijuana. If you use Google to look for anything about marijuana and its medicinal uses, you can find research saying that marijuana does cure cancer and research saying that it doesn't. Until an experiment on marijuana is reconstructed and re-done by enough scientists for a hypothesis to become a theory, there's really no way to conclude this discussion.

The difference between what you have said and what I have said is this. That is completely bullshit and defies what we all know as common knowledge. If you want to go search through shoutwire.com to find my sources go ahead, but I'm not searching through millions of articles just to post it as it was maybe two months ago when I read the new findings on marijuana and breast cancer and over a year ago before I heard about the small study started in California and I can guarantee they're buried...It's not some msnbc bullshit site where they only post news relevant to America...

Both claims are unsupported. Both statements are backed by the word of the person making the claim, and only their word. The only way you can make our statements incomparable is for you to provide a source but you've already said you're not going to.

Both claims are not unsupported, if you're an authoritative figure on the subject, such as I am on this, you do not need any support. When's the last time Steven Spielberg had to support the fact he's a great director? In fact I'm reading a book right now on "Authentic Happiness", once again the author is an authoritative figure on the subject and he doesn't give one ounce of support. and like I said the things you claim go against common knowledge. it's wide known that sperm entering an egg causes pregnancy.

Haha, an authoritative figure, Dope? C'mon now, unless you're a holder of a doctorate on the subject with published, peer-reviewed research to your name, I'd hardly call you an a authoritative figure on anything. You're my boy, Dope, but c'mon now! :P
