NO! Legalize the growing, buying, and use of it. So only selling it is illegal. That way they can't tax it and prices won't be ridiculous. >.< In fact, I think prices might go down cuz it'll be easier to get it. |

"Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating state or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and a society characterized by equal opportunities for all individuals with a fair or egalitarian method of compensation. Modern socialism originated in the late nineteenth-century working class political movement and the intellectual movement of that period which criticized the effects of industrialization and private ownership on society. Karl Marx posited that socialism would be achieved via class struggle and a proletarian revolution and would represent the transitional stage between capitalism and communism." I didn't particularly mean completely socialist. But you have to look at the capitalistic background of America. Compared to anything that happened previously, tha has changed in the previous years yes i realize this, has a remote hint of socialistic ideas. Personally, I believe socialism is when a government that looks after a majority of citizens, with needs, I suppose natural and needs, healthcare etc... i guess the idea of economic assistance could maybe more closely be related to a communist type assistance. but by NO MEANS do I mean this is saying communism is in America, just that this idea would have a hint of that sort of economic assistance, and government giving money to citizens. |

Well any involvement by the government could be considered a bit socialist. Giving us money wouldn't be any different than giving those car companies billions of dollars, except for the fact that it would be a better idea. |

Ok I got this in an email, read it. This guy has a damn good point, you have to admit. "Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, some of us are required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem.. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet.. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their rear, doing drugs, while I work. . . . Ca n you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? Pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though . . . Something has to change in this country -- and soon!!!!" -Unknown |

I think if that was possible, it'd be a great idea. But I'm sure there would be people finding ways to get around that... as there always is, unfortunately

Any of you care enough to watch Obama's speech? I'll quote what you're interested in, and hope some of you have the sense to learn the rest: "Your checks are on the way." |
