I have been going to seminary for a while, and Heyward is very knowledgeable as well. We want to answer any and all of your questions concerning the tenets and beliefs of Christianity: Who Christ is, why suffering exists, who God is, what is the nature of God, why Jesus had to die, is the Bible accurate, what does the Bible say, etc. We want you to be comfortable with talking about Christianity, we will not try to argue our assert our beliefs upon you, we will just state them. Anything you want to ask, we will answer without judgement. If we don't hold up to our promises here, I am sorry. |

I'd like to reiterate that this is not a debate. We're here to clarify our beliefs and share them with anyone who cares to read about them. We are not set out to prove or disprove anything. |

Ok, 1. What made you so strongly believe in God? Was it a search for hope? Was it a brainwash? What was it? I will now proceed to ask very common questions out of curiosity. And also some of my own questions I came up with over the couple of years 1. My R.E (Or whatever the class is called in English) teacher told me that the holy trinity are all a single thing. So why did God send himself posing as his own child instead of going there himself to teach everyone? 2. Adam and Eve are the first humans created as far as I know. And the bible does not mention anyone else being created after them. So in a sense we are all related because our grand ancestors are Adam and Eve. Does this not mean that some random person from isk, Nigeria is my cousin? Also didn't Adam and Eve only have sons and no daughters? 3. Staying on family-related questions, another thing that I want to know is that When God says that we are all his children, does he mean that literally? Otherwise we would all be committing incest. Which is honestly pretty disgusting. 4. In the Noah's Arc part, the bible did not mention anyone else surviving. And as far as I know, Noah only had 2 sons. How did we repopulate? Did Noah's wife have to give birth to numerous babies with Noah and his sons And after that I don't even want to know how much incest it would require to repopulate that way. 5.1 Ok say there is a woman with lots of suffering with like a husband who beats her and rapes her and the woman prays for help. Later she is beaten to death. Does that mean the help was to get to heaven? 5.2 In this case instead there's a kid who is bullied. When he goes to school he gets beat up and people talk shit about him. When he goes home and turns on the computer people still talk shit about him He decides to go to the playground where he still gets beaten the fuck up This continues but since they're just kids, they know when to stop just to not kill the kid. The kid can't commit suicide because he is too weak to do that. He loses his mind and has to go to a mental hospital, and the bullies wont have to pay because nobody knows about what happened. Is that a way for God to help? More to come if I ever remember or care enough to ask. And finally, since this isn't a debate, I don't want any "I think" or "Surely" or anything like that. I want honest answers and I want you to know what you're talking about instead of some yip yapping bullshit. |

Why do you want to be married to another guy? Is it because of the benefits? If it is because of the benefits, then I would suggest an opportunity called civil unions. I realize they do not offer the same benefits as marriage, but it is my belief that marriage should only be left to churches--out of the hands of the government. I do not care if you guys live together, or have sex. But for me, marriage is defined as between a man and a women with the means of procreating. This is how it has been since the dawn of mankind. You want to redefine marriage, can I ask you why? Why does marriage mean anything to you? Would not a close similar option be just as sweet, one that is not ordained by God? It is the Bible's view that homosexuality is a sin (not the absolute worst sin, because all sin is equal). If the government wanted to legalize theft or murder I would be just as upset. This is not because I am bigoted, it is because the Bible speaks against it and for the sanctity of marriage. As for me, I don't know if you know this, but I used to be gay. And no one told me that homosexuality was wrong, in fact most of the "Christians" around me encouraged it. It was the Bible that knocked me out of my pride.
This is the passage that made me fear the sin I had been locked up in. I thought of myself as a Christian, until I read Paul's words here, and it broke me under the weight of my rebellion against God. I was scared, I thought no matter how hard I tried I could never inherit the kingdom of God. I was holding on to being a homosexual Christian (which cannot exist), and denying God. That's when I called up a good Christian friend of mine and he said the best words I've ever heard, "God will take you as you are, you do not have to clean up yourself before salvation. Come to him broken (or something like that)." And I did. I let the Holy Spirit (or the spirit of God) sanctify (restore to a new body) me. I still have temptations, but it doesn't define me. I am trying my hardest to obey God, I still watch porn every now and again, I fail. That's what being a Christian is, failing constantly to live up to God's expectations. But it through my faith in him that I am covered from his judgement. It wasn't until later that I paid attention to the next verse:
Only Jesus can heal. I don't expect you to understand the Bible's views on Homosexuality, but look at that verse, "such were some of you." Some people in Paul's time suffered from the same addiction to the same gender, and Paul loved them, he counted them as brothers. I try to do the same thing. It is my view that I can disagree with you, even while I count you worthy of the great salvation in Christ. Because I was once in the same boat. I hope that clears that up, any specific questions I did answer in this general response? Edited by Cirno, May 17 2015, 07:05 AM.

Why would anybody marry somebody just for benefits?
I'm pretty sure nobody wants/intends to redefine marriage
So basically you believe, if I were to go out and shoot and kill somebody at random, that is an equal 'sin' to being gay?
I genuinely feel bad for you I have an older friend (30-40s?) who's gay. He spent 10 years of his life trying to 'convert' himself due to religious reasons. He's happily married to another man now. I don't think it's actually possible for people to force themselves to change your sexuality. Also if everybody encouraged you, why are you letting a book essentially control your life? Not only a book, but a book that is extremely old? (i'm not trying to insult either of you, just asking) Edited by Cirno, May 6 2015, 03:23 PM.

Yes. I have a song that would be good for you to listen to, it explains the size of sin better than I ever can. It's a rap song, so be sure to follow the lyrics closely:
I am not looking to convert myself, my sanctification (renewing) comes from the Lord. I don't ever expect to be over this sin issue in my lifetime, only when sin is abolished and I am with God will I not be a slave to my sinful nature. As for why I'm letting a book control my life, because that book speaks of a savior who offers freedom from the weight of sin. I saw what was in the books and what it is all about, Jesus is the central theme of the entire Bible. And I believe the whole Bible is inspired (or dictated) by God. Which means it is wholly truth, and can tell no lies. So if I get my views about Jesus from the Bible, then should I not also follow everything else the Bible talks about to the best of my ability, or at least have the faith it takes to want to? As for it being old, yeah it is old, does that make it less accurate? Look up what the Dead Sea Scrolls are, it would be nice research. Especially how the Dead Sea Scrolls relate to the book of Isaiah. |

sigh Okay then, what exactly makes liking the same gender a 'sin'? (Apologies if your link explains it, I can't listen to it at the moment) Edited by Cirno, May 6 2015, 03:50 PM.

The same thing that makes anything a sin-- the Bible tells us it is. I showed you the Bible verse, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Other than that, it goes against the design that God created, as all sin does. God created man and woman. He gave them a relationship called marriage, and they had children and multiplied themselves among the world. God created the relationship between man and woman, he had no intention for man to have a sexual relationship with another man, or vice versa with women. Homosexuality is being disobedient to God's created order. In the beginning God created an order that order was: God - Man and Woman - Animals God had dominion over man, and they had to follow his orders, and he was to care for their every need, man had dominion over animals, and they had to follow his orders, and he was to care for their every need. Sin is putting ourselves above God and not obeying his commands. Why do we have the audacity to tell our creator no? Why? How can we do this and not feel guilty? This is sin. Homosexuality is sin because it interrupts the order God created. The GOOD order he created. What God made was extremely good in the beginning, until Adam and Eve decided to question God's motives. |

Lol, I knew you had no reason for it. My mother told me everybody liked me so it's true right? Also if being gay was a sin then why would God make cock so delicious? |
