Korriban wasn't Darth Derriphan's favored destination for travels and extended stays but she understood the need to spend time at the Sith Academy on a regular basis. The archives kept there still held much to read and use in her sorcery work, beyond the extensive private collections she kept at her fortress on Vjun. Many saw with little favored light her fondness for her acid-rain plagued home world, but she cared not and most knew not to say that to her face, if they wished to keep theirs.

The Sith Master had left her Qabbrat to meet with fellow high ranked members of the Empire a couple of hours ago. The meeting hadn't been fruitful and intestine quarrels left her inwardly exasperated. She mentally recorded all information she could use as leverage against rivals if need be, but overall the petty struggles between Sith annoyed her.

Once the ordeal was over and save for future ammunition she left empty-handed, she headed to the laboratories she used when visiting Korriban. Passing in the hallways, she eavesdropped on a conversation between some acolytes who had just lost most of their group in an errand for their mentors. The good thing was that they seemed unsurprised and weeped not for the loss of the weaker and stupid. That would serve them well as they grew stronger in the dark side.

They made way as she passed by them, and she didn't acknowledge their fear-imbued respect. She had earned every bit of it over the years, through hard work, sweat and blood, so she had no reason to pat others on the back to respect her, especially when she could crush them under her boot, if they ever went out of line.

Korriban. The origin planet of the Pureblood Sith, now a harbor of tombs for Lords both respected and feared. It was a fitting place for the Sith Academy, so much knowledge and power present to contribute to the advancement of the acolytes. There were those who heeded the wisdom stored within these ancient walls and those who unwisely shrugged off their importance. Cyrus Arterus Eingaard had been born and bred into this dark culture; his mother a Pureblood and his father a human, to the chagrin of both races. To say he had a healthy dose of respect for all those who came before him was a severe understatement. His father had been a historian before his passing and the man's love of lore had been innately transferred to his son. Cyrus was thirty now, one of the sole curators of the archives at the academy, and well past the age suggested for taking an apprentice of his own. While he enjoyed teaching, the tedium of living in constant awareness of his would-be apprentice's desire to surpass and usurp his life did not. The Dark Council did not force his hand on the matter, knowing that he trained fresh minds well enough when they visited the reliquaries or archives in search of knowledge. Still, he could not help but worry that he was missing out.

A private study in the archives currently held his interest, his unnerving yellow eyes rapidly scanning the page of a tome propped within his muscular arms. He had recently taken an interest in other Sith worlds. Particularly, Krayiss Two which was said to house a library-temple more immense than any he'd heard of. The ancient world was said to be plagued by spirits that would prey upon those unworthy of the hoards of knowledge they guarded. He was not frightened by the threat of them. No, he thought to himself that he might be the only viable candidate for the recovery mission. Replacing the tome in its correct place, Cyrus turned and stalked from the private study, the wall sealing behind him with a hiss.

He moved with purpose, spanning the archive in a matter of strides. He moved out into the main foyer of the temple and as he did, he nearly collided with a woman who seemed to move with the same imperious strides as he. They both halted in one another's path, the glowing gold of his eyes meeting with her azure gaze fiercely. He knew he stood in the presence of someone more powerful, a woman used to others skittering out of her path as she cut through the crowds like a sharpened knife. Cyrus had no death wish but he was not the sort to crumble beneath the power she exuded. Her reputation alone led him to the conclusion of who she was and by that presumption alone he acknowledged her. A simple inclination of his head. "Darth Derriphan." He said in his gravelly voice, the tilt of his head accentuating the angular planes of his face.

Her senses alerted her at the very last moment that someone was to collide with her. Alice's hand jerked forward, strong fingers wrapping around the man's throat. Blue eyes flickered red as she recognized the curator of the archives, a man she had grown to respect and visit on a regular basis. "Lord Eingaard." She hissed, releasing her grip and noticing how he didn't tremble before her, which was strangely enticing. They had shared many a great conversation about Sith lore and she appreciated a Sith who could see beyond the basic want to smash the occupant of a coveted seat.

"I hope for you that a meanginful matter required all of your attention." While she could find him intelligent and a feat for sore eyes, she couldn't afford not to chastise him for how he hadn't made way for her. She had a reputation to maintain and Korriban was one of the places where it had to be maintained accurately. She knew her own worth and would prove it to anyone, but the game of politics had been part of the Sith for many decades and she had to abide by it, even when she found them beneath her.

Her focus remained on the dark haired man before her, holding his gaze, awaiting his answer.

Glowing yellow eyes met her's steadily, even as her hand remained wrapped around his throat, and watched the transformation that occurred in her own gaze. His head inclined just slightly as she said his name, her hiss nearly tempting a smile to his usually austere mouth. Here was the one person he'd consider informing of his plans, a like minded individual who would take an interest in his aims. But, was she trustworthy? His eyebrows knit together as her grip withdrew and her captivating lips inquired after an explanation. He looked away from her briefly then, taking in the scores of individuals observing their interaction keenly. He stepped forward, his own hand lifting slowly and non-threateningly to the side of Darth Derriphan's elegant neck. His fingers curled there gently and his face leaned close, his lips near touching her earlobe. "A matter of significance did distract me. But, I am more than willing to share the spoils of my discovery with you. To make up for my... clumsiness, of course." He informed her in his gravelly voice, leaning back to make eye contact with her once more and judge her expression for her interest.

While Alice knew how to remain aware of possible dangers coming from likely and unlikely sources, she had remarked over the years how most powerful and intelligent Sith weren't the vocal kind. The brash species tended to be all talk and little action to back it up. Those who kept to themselves or were dilligent workers often deepened their bond to the Dark Side in greater ways than those relying on pure barbarism did. She had nothing against devious ways to torture when needed and had developed her own techniques with strong interest and enjoyment but she believed that the mind magnified everything from the physical to the ethereal.

She watched the Lord with vibrant curiosity as he rested his hand on the side of her neck. His nearness was captivating and she certainly didn't move back or sideway from an inch. He had her interest on many levels and after holding his gaze, she was the one leaning close to him. "Tell me about this in private then."

Her head tilted closer to his in an obvious demonstration of interest and his mouth turned upward subtly in a transient smile. The fluctuation in expression was dismissed before it was noticed by anyone other than the Sith Master, his hand retracting from her elegant neck and his head bowing in a show of complacency for the sake of their public. The stabbing intensity of his glowing stare, meant for only her, promised anything BUT the tame persona he arranged for their observed interaction. His eerie stare raked those gathered with scathing hatred before he cut a clean swath through them, entering one of the corridors that would end at a private audience chamber. His gloved hands swept rearward, coming to clasp at the small of his back pensively; the corded muscles concealed beneath his shirt straining against the form fitting fabric he wore. He did not check to see that she followed but felt her presence distinctly. When the chamber was reached, he entered the code for the door and then politely gestured her within before him.

The way the Lord behaved for the audience they had gathered, despite how several probably thought themselves more subtle than they actually were, didn't go unnoticed. Alice appreciated one who knew how to walk the fine lines of politics. Discretion and subtlety were lost on a number of members of the Empire, making those who understood them as quality, two in the complex facets a true Sith shall possess, all the more meaningful. She didn't understand how some believed that raw strength and blatant roars could be considered the crux of what it meant to be Sith. Being a true Sith meant breaking chains that so called civilizations tried to impose to herd narrow-minded beings.

She followed the Lord without skipping a heartbeat or a step. She offered a faint nod to him as he gestured for her to enter the private chamber first. To say she was curious as to what would be revealed in this room would be an understatement, but her expression remained mostly neutral for the moment.
