Livia Meiland Age: 15 Voice: Livia speaks slowly and thickly, almost as if molasses rolled off her tongue, only less sweet. She keeps a flat tone, but manages to have a voice that doesn't appear monotone. As she becomes more emotional her voice varies much more. Since Livia considers herself an authority figure, aside from the Manor, she speaks relatively the same to everyone. Perhaps a bit loosely around those closest to her. Power(s): Livia can change her appearance, shape shift. Her changes are physical and can therefore harm someone. Her forms are restricted to humanoid forms and are still restricted by mass. Usually she stays about the same size, but can make herself shorter or taller. Whatever she does, she stays the same weight as before. She's naturally thicker boned to allow her to use that mass to grow larger, although she becomes even denser as she gets smaller. She can get not shorter than 4'5" and no taller than 6'5". Neither can she change her voice, and to her frustration her face. Clothes play a part in her transformations. Her powers treat them as part of her, she can change their shape. Livia cannot change the amount of material she has though, keeping to the mass of the object. She usually finds use in these powers when leading the supply expeditions. She doesn't always have to best control and sometimes finds parts of herself have changed, and need to be changed back. Her powers developed quickly from time she was 10, but with her world as the time concentrated toward normality she took great strains to keep it hidden. Eventually they became too strong, and after a number of large transformations she shouldn't control immediately she started working on a plan to leave home. The problem still persists. Physical Appearance: Livia is a skinny person overall, gangly and lithe she stands at about 5'5" and weighs near 150 pounds, despite looking around 100 pounds. She has wispy caramel colored hair that puffs up around her face due to being a bit dry, and then seems to thin itself down under her jaw towards her shoulders. She has a long face with almond shaped brown eyes, and a round mouth. Large ears sit on the side of her face pushing her hair back a bit. She's mostly legs and arms, more like a bean pole than a curvy woman. Her skin tone is near pale, but has a healthy peach sheen. Clothing: Trapeze. Pretty much everything Livia wears gets wider at the bottom. Trapeze dresses, and shirts, a-line skirts, Parachute pants. Aside from hiding her thin form, and avoiding altogether baggy clothes, these clothes have a more important reason to how they are. The more material the more clothing she can shape in the case of needing it. She likes using bright colored cloths she finds by tearing them into strips and wearing them as ribbons around her neck. She doesn't often wear shoes and like most of the other children walks around barefoot. Personality: Livia is not an easily likable person despite the smiles she constantly gives people. She's sarcastic and egocentric. She's not very sensitive to people's feelings. She isn't often the kindest person, and says less the comforting things. But she can act the right way if the occasion seriously calls for it, she's got some form of self control. People who've known Livia find this a drastic change in the person she was before, submissive and quiet. Deep inside though she always wanted to be a stronger person, and always felt pushed down and suffocated by her environment. In her powers she found her escape. Livia is a strong leader, and a quick thinker in tight spots although not particularly merciful. She still has something soft left inside her, and although treats her close friends near the same as others, maybe with slightly more sharpness, it's with love and not malice. But they all come to understand that's how Livia shows she cares, as she never was good at expressing herself, and can only slowly learn to now. The only people that feel a little relief from her personality are younger children, as she believe that they're easily imprinted, she doesn't treat them like children, but just less harsh. Livia is a very superstitious person, she may not carry around charms, but she watches where she steps, throws salt over her shoulder, and never opens umbrella's indoors. As it is she follows the manor's rules word for word, and doesn't go outside when it rains Likes: Cathriss Gate, Veran, blue, sneaking about, her position, Veran's cooking, melon, cello music, and her powers. Dislikes: Cooking, smoke, rabbits, dill, insubordinates, difficult people, her face refusing to change and umbrellas. Family: Livia's family are strict and no-nonsense people. Her mother Margret works for a firm working in statistics, and her father Leslie is a prim businessman. Her family was the kind that dress in suits and say nothing over the dinner table. She was expected to be perfect, and behave like a polite lady. She was forbidden fantasy books, and music. Creativity was something outside of their circle. Everything was neutral colors and bland, and any behavior beside that was punished. She wore uniforms to a uniform-less school, and had to hide whatever friends she managed to make. She was to be submissive and the perfect darling daughter anyone would want. Anything out of the template cut for her was severely punished. History: Livia was born in Greave, and was grown to be a perfect child. She made little friends and was relatively ostracized and forgotten by most of her peers. She was though to have no imagination. Her life was spent working for school and keeping up the image her parent's wanted her to have. For years she followed the same path for many years, but inside her a little seed of wishes and raw rebellion was growing. Slowly she began to try to break out of her small frame, and was severely punished for it. In the end she learned to keep it hidden, and returned to behaving the way she had. School was always an ordeal, it was quiet and she was alone, at eating, in work, walked alone from school. And it went on like this for years and years, and she grew used to it and melded into the background. That was until the small boy approached her, and offered her a bit of a cookie. His name was Veran, and he was a orphan boy from the local orphanage. He came to school with little, and as it turns out was a outcast like her. She quickly became fast friends with him, although her parents didn't know. She wouldn't tell them fearing they'd order her to steer clear of the filthy orphan rat. Eventually Veran introduced her to a book worm named Somerled. Together they were a group of kids who didn't find any good in their current form of living. eventually the began planning an escape into the forest, and after the three of them discovered their powers they took all they wanted and left. After a couple hours in the dense woods the growth began thinning and they found themselves at the doorstep of Cathriss Gate. They'd found their home. All these events allowed Livia to become something of the person she wanted to be, maybe not the exact image, but she's become stronger and more outspoken. She feels free and happy with her new world. Thoughts on current predicament: Livia loves the manor, it's her home now, and she doesn't anticipate growing up. She feels that there she has a better family and a place to fit in. Other: One of the Runaways, leads many of the the supply expeditions. Character Played by: Spoo |
