Predating the inauguration of French Prime Minister Vadeboncoeur in 2050, the entirety of Earth was locked in a struggle characterized by restless strife and political mismanagement. Starting with the United States in 2025, lackluster leaders had emerged to lead otherwise economically wealthy countries into a pit of despair. Having finally pulled out of the war with the Middle East, a war that had lasted a few years too many, Americans were feeling the pressure from more peaceful countries to tone down the war hawk strategy of dealing with foreign policy. It was then that a series of puppet presidents emerged. It wasn't long before more powerful countries settled into a peacetime mindset of revising domestic policies and disregarding foreign relations. Soon enough, the United Kindom, Australia, India, China, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil followed suit, all becoming more reclusive and distrustful of nations apart from their own. By 2045, the entire world was devoid of war. But while peace-loving college students embraced this newfound love for fellow human beings, secret government agencies were working overtime. Such a peaceful time, mixed with a tragic loss of forceful leaders had given birth to a wide array of suspicions and distrust between nations. Quietly, slowly overtime, foreign relations were crumbling and defense strategies were being built up. Poised for a takeover, a charasmatic young man ran for office in France. It wasn't long before wealthy families started to support his radical ideas in exchange for a dismissal of old, somewhat intrusive and unstable domestic policies. During the next elections, Vadeboncoeur was elected Prime Minister of France. His election would mark a Napoleonic ambition unlike that of any modern day leader. Vadeboncoeur immeadiately set to organizing a council of intelligent young graduates in all of the primary fields of government. He stacked parliament with his people and managed an overnight, underground swell of support for his newest, most radical itinerary item -- do what no leader had dare do since the days before Christ. Vadeboncoeur was planning an empire, and he would most certainly not settle for France alone. Now, the Prime Minister has organized an offensive strategy to invade nearby Portugal by way of mainland Spain. Just recently, Belgium and Luxembourg have given up individual country status and joined with Vadeboncoeur to become provinces of France. Together, all of the leaders have formed an allaiance with something the world has been lacking for over a quarter of a century -- a strong and intellectual military empire. But while wealthy Vadeboncoeur supporters host social parties to celebrate this political turnover, a reactionist movement is brewing in the most saturated of all radical territory, Bordeaux. It is in this small, waterside town that Vadeboncoeur spends most of his time strategizing with his close-knit ring of well-wishers. Day in and day out, radical politicians, lawyers, celebrities, and aristocrats spill in and flow out, helping to further Vadeboncoeur's political cause. Underground, however, and in the dark of night, reactionists meet in reaction-friendly bars and back rooms in an effort to rise against Vadeboncoeur's iron-fisted grip on French society. Led by an educated, idealistic young graduate, they plan to return their homeland to a state of peace, equality, and well-being. Auclair has a vision to unite the world in terms of trade and dismantle the dogmatic idea of Vadeboncoeur's empire. It is, no doubt, time for a revolution.
