 “ The Werewolves hate the Vampires and the Vampires hate the Werewolves…that's how it's always been!” – Werewolf There has always been conflict between the Vampires and the Werewolves. Long ago, their battles were fought in secret and under concealment from humans who would do no more than get in the way. Under the cover of night, they savagely slaughtered each other over land, wealth, blood, and power. It was a war that would bring only the total destruction of both great races. As time went on, a new race emerged in the supernatural world. They were known as Shifters, due to their ability to change form into whatever they wished. Both the Vampires and the Werewolves welcomed them, each trying to buy the Shifter’s loyalty to ensure their victory in a never-ending war. But most Shifters were still driven by human greed, and only sought to gain their own upper hand. A group of them formed what was to be known simply as The Company. Using their various spies, they planted seeds within the ranks of the two warring races and further fueled their already bitter hatred for each other with false stories of trickery and deceit. The Werewolves and the Vampires no longer cared for the safety of the rest of the world, and declared a full out feud. Their fighting has spanned on for centuries, turning most of England into a war-zone. The Company still holds power, and lives in relative comfort and wealth in the nicer, still-intact parts of England, enjoying the havoc they have wrought on the rest of the world. Others, however, live in poverty and fear in the crumbling remains of various towns and cities, never knowing if they will be caught in the middle of a bloody onslaught of creature against creature. Many Shifters have been forced to pick sides. Some have joined a side depending on what has been offered to them – land…money…anything to satisfy their greed. But, as Shifters are normally a peace-loving race, they tend to remain neutral. They live in gypsy-like bands, traveling through the countryside whenever food gets scarce or hiding out in the surrounding forests. Quite a few Vampires and Werewolves are also neutral, some attempting to bridge the gap between their two races. The Gypsy communities of the Shifters tend to welcomes those neutral parties of the warring races, and they have lived together in relative peace…although for some it is hard to break free of those hard-ingrained prejudices, but they do try. The time has now come to choose a side. Are you a vampire, fighting for honor and tradition? Are you a werewolf, fighting for a place to belong in a judgmental world? Are you one of the many Shifters who have joined either side? Or are you one of the neutral members of each race, trying to put an end to the pointless fighting that is slowly diminishing your people? The choice is up to you… Where will you be in the end? Where will you make your Final Stand? |
