![]() ![]() Open to one character A perfect night for exploring, or potentially trespassing. Kuristoph did not know if this land was owned by anyone in particular, but the man he paid to fly him here on a personal aircraft didn't seem to object. It could just be that the man was simply overpaid since Kuristoph didn't quite have a baring on what was a fair rate for services yet. Still, once he saw this particular skyland on his airship ride to Earthstar he had to come. It had the most beautiful lake that looked so tranquil and peaceful to him. Plus it was abandoned as far as he could tell. It would be the perfect place for him to swim without disturbing anyone. "Thank you Pim for this blessing," Kuristoph muttered to himself whilst floating on his back in the water. The fact that he is not wearing any clothes, as most Nokken would while in the water, is the main reason he sought this place out. The other reason was to find a place he was sure not to find another Nokken. Just better to avoid running into anyone he once knew. Edited by Kuristoph, 29/04/2018 - 10:00 pm.

The ship was quite nice, Ekahu influences in design so the doors were nice and wide to accommodate wings. It was obviously a luxury vessel meant to transport people and only people. No cargo outside of supplies for passengers and their luggage were on board. It seemed the ticket seller assumed that the two were of a decent stature due to their destination and, well, because Angeles was a Valkyrie heading there. It didn't help that Kuristoph was so colorful and had so much jewelry on. "Ooh, this one is much nicer than the last ship I was on," Kuristoph declared as he looked at all of the detail in the ship. "I'll check those tickets please," a young man, requested while standing near the entrance. "Right, here you are," Kuristoph said with a smile handing the man his ticket. He inspected the ticket, tore off the bottom and handed it back to him. "You're room is down that hall, on the right. Room 3-B. Please enjoy your stay, staff will be by later to check on you," he added. He would say a shortened version of the same thing to Angeles once she handed him the ticket, finding little need in repeating himself fully. "I'm eager to see the room. It'll be my first private room on a ship. I mean, I'm sharing still, but that's loads better than being crammed into a tight space with tons of people," Kuristoph rambled, waiting on Angeles. |

They were stopped once inside for their tickets to be torn, and the young man attending the doorway tore the tickets and told them where the room would be located, stating that staff would be in to check on them. Kuristoph was notedly excited about having his own room on an airship. Angeles was a little desensitized to the notion. Nir father was a doctor, fairly well off, so travel was usually pleasant. He did mention that he would be sharing the room, and Angeles felt like ne was coming back to nir senses off of high alert for the first time, looking down at nir ticket. 3-B. Angeles' eyes widened as she stopped dead in nir tracks staring at the ticket, nir heart suddenly racing. It would have been better if ne had gotten into a fight outside. Ne swallowed down nir anxiety and fell into step with Kuristoph again, tying not to show nir nervousness. Though ne felt like everyone could see nem sweating now. Ne wanted to respond to Kuristoph and hold an actual conversation with the young man, but nir mouth felt dry suddenly, and ne clutched the ticket and put it into nir pocket, as they arrived at their room. Angeles stepped forward to open it and let Kuristoph in, hoping to have at least a few seconds outside alone to compose nemself. |

Kursitoph made a B-line for the room, eager to see what room he had acquired for the two of them. The doors were made as beautiful wood of a reddish-brown color that Kursitoph was very curious about, but he had no clue what the name could be. Something he'd have to ask someone about later. Right now he was more interested in opening the door, not learning about it. "Oh wow..." he sounded as he entered the very wide room. At the end, next to the window was a large round bed that seemed to convex in slightly almost like a nest. It was becoming slightly apparent that someone who wasn't an Ekahu designed and themed this ship after the idea of Ekahu rather than by after them. After all, the bed looked like a literal nest but with pillows, bedding, and blankets. But to Kuristoph, this looked authentic and it very well could have been. Far all he knew an Ekahu designed this based on the human perception of Ekahu. "There's a sitting place, and that bed looks so big, and the window, it has a window," he declared eagerly, moving into the room with child-like energy. It was such a new and fantastic experience for him and he was so happy to not be stranded on an island anymore. "Is this what beds at Hakert are like?" Kuristoph asked Angeles, "And the decorations, and the walls, and, well," he ran out of things to ask, giving her a chance to reply. |

Angeles couldn't fault the young man as he ran into the room. His excitement was a childlike wonder, and it actually eased Angeles a bit as ne followed him into the room, closing the door and looking around the room at the various things he pointed out, stopping short of the bed and sort of, staring down at it, half in horror, half in confusion. When Kuristoph made a notion that the window had a window, Angeles looked up to see if it was one ne could throw nemself out of. It was not, in fact it was just one window. Kuristoph must have been simply surprised that there was a window. The nokken asked about the bed and Angeles looked at it again, shaking nir head. "No, Ekahu don't really have beds, and Valkyrie, we're mostly just used to sleeping on small beds, rectable shaped like we are," ne sighed and nudged one of the pillows with nir boot, "we mostly sleep on our fronts or sides, our wings keep us from moving around so there's not a real need for large beds. This is probably meant for humans, though I don't know why it's round," ne murmured the last part then looked up and around at the walls. "The walls are Ekahuan design. The element of air is very important to them so a lot of their architecture and design reflects the swirling, rolling lines of the wind," ne indicated with nir finger, showing the lines of the carvings of the floorboards and ceiling lines. "The double doors are a Hakert standard, to accommodate the passage of wings through the portals." Ne looked around for other things that he may have missed. "The chairs are definitely meant for humans, Ekahu don't really sit, they perch, and Valkyrien chairs are more like stools, no backs to get in the way of wings. The couch too is human." Ne paused a moment, looking at the ceiling before nir golden eyes fell on Kuristoph again ready to answer more questions, as ne was sure he had them. |

Kuristoph was both dissapointed and excited about the information. Excited that some of this was indeed Ekahu in design... but saddened that Angeles' wings cause so much discomfort for her. No, not discomfort. But an inconvenience in a human settings. Kuristoph loved to sleep on his back, it was how most Nokken slept in fact for a variety of reasons. He can't imagine sleeping on his front, it just sounded uncomfortable to him. "Will you be able to use this bed? It's plenty big for your wings, we can both fit, or I can use the couch. Wait, is the journey going to be long enough to even bother going to sleep?" Kuristoph asked curiously just before a knock came to the door. Eager to see who was there he went to open it only to be greeted by an Ekahu woman who clearly worked on the ship. "Hello, I have come to thank you for choosing KeeHuu for your flight to Harket. Here is complimentary bottle from Harket itself. It's a favorite with Valkyrie... Oh," she paused when she noticed Angeles for the first time. The woman stared at Angeles for longer than needed, trying to get a feel for the mixed signals she got about Angeles' gender. "Sorry, I didn't mean to stare. I just didn't expect, sorry. I'm sorry, here," she said handing the bottle to Kuristoph before bowing politely. "If you need anything, please call for assistance. We are fully staffed and able to cater to your every need," she stated before excusing herself from the room, closing the door behind her. "That was weird," Kuristoph claimed perplexed by the exchange before trying to read what the mystery bottle said. He could not. It was not in Humanish and the woman didn't specify what it was before leaving. Edited by Kuristoph, 30/04/2018 - 09:24 pm.

Angeles opened nir mouth, but didn't speak, looking at the bed and uncertain if ne wanted to even use the bed, especially that Kuristoph mentioned sharing it, then stating he could sleep on the couch, before they were interrupted by a knock. The nokken ran off to answer it and a hostess began into her welcome monologue, offering a bottle to them before noticing Angeles. And staring quietly. For much longer than was polite. Angeles frowned and turned to pay the Ekahu no mind, instead pretending to be interested in what was going on through the window. With a hasty apology the Ekahu handed Kuristoph the bottle and left. Angeles turned to look again as the nokken mentioned that was weird, and ne held nir hand out for the bottle to see if it was something Valkyrie were fond of, or if it was just a sale-pitch gimick, much like the ship's name. "This is actually pretty good stuff," ne commented before handing it to Kuristoph, "one of our lighter drinks, meant for pleasure sitting than for actually getting drunk off of though." Ne tried to play off like what had transpired was normal. Admittedly ne was accustomed to getting those kinds of reactions from those who couldn't immediately decide how they wanted to see nem, one way or another. "I'm not sure how long the journey's going to be. It looks like this is a cruise ship so it's likely not a direct flight there. We may be here a few days," ne took one of the chairs, flipping it around so that ne straddled the seat, leaning nir arms on the back of the chair, looking at Kuristoph. Ne had been in human territories long enough to know how to work the furniture to accommodate nir needs. |

"Lighter drink.... I've heard people use that term before. Light, hard... I don't understand what makes a drink light or hard," Kurisotoph rambled with a pout. "A drink can't be hard, it's liquid," he continued for a moment before looking to Angeles for a sincere explanation. "Sorry, I didn't mean to go off. Just, I've tried a bunch of these hard drinks and they just taste like roots. I mean, I guess roots are hard, I don't know," he finished his rant about the confusing surface world dilemma he's had for quite some time. Kuristoph silently made his way to the bed, sitting on the edge, trying not to fall back into the center. He was mentally preparing himself for a three-day journey in a room. Not quite as fast as the ships with tons of people, but at least the room is nice. It also sounded as if there was going to be food too. He was excited to try Ekahu gimmick food that he was oblivious to. |

Angeles wasn't prepared for a rant, but ne got one, and watched with a bit of intrigue as the young man complained about the descriptions of liquids as 'light' or 'hard.' Ne was almost smiling by the end of it, watching him sit on the edge of the nest, almost pouting. Angeles cleared nir throat, "the description of a liquid as 'hard' or 'light' is meant to describe the level of alcohol in it. A hard drink is more alcoholic than a light drink and you," ne pointed, "are a nokken. My father, I believe I mentioned to you, is a doctor, he suspects that nokken are naturally resistant to toxins. Which means that you likely wouldn't feel the effects of a light drink at all, and a hard drink only if it was very hard, or if you had a lot of them." Ne retracted nir finger and folded nir arms over the chair again, looking at him evenly. "That's a bit sad actually, we'll have to see if we can find something hard enough for you to enjoy." |

"Huh, so it's like Puffer Fish then," Kuristoph noted. "A fish that bloats up like this when scared," Kuristoph puffed his cheeks out for a moment. "It's got tiny spines on it that have this toxin for defense. A lot of Nokkens like to intake the toxins and get high on it," he mentioned in reference to alchohal and how people get effected by it. "Sometimes they use other animals, but the puffer fish is the favorite," he rambled a bit more. "But yeah, I've tried hard liquor on Earthstar with a friend. They got really drunk and acted like Nokken on puffer toxins," Kursitoph explained in small amounts of detail. "I imagine it's like that, but if you have harder drinks than Humans I might try to see if it does anything," he added, curious to try what Valkyrie would consider a hard drink. Kuristoph seemed to be slightly more open to discussions about his people. |

'Puffer fish,' was not what ne expected alcohol to ever be compared to. Ne knew that puffer fish existed but little else after that. Apparently they were toxic, toxic enough that nokken used them as recreational drugs. Likely that meant the toxin was enough to kill a normal person. Ne was reminded a moment of opium. He then mentioned trying harder, Valkyrien drinks, to see if he could get a buzz from something, where human drink had failed him so far. Angeles smirked, "when we get to Hakert," ne said, holding nir hand out for the bottle, "I doubt anything on this ship will be strong enough for you. What you have there would likely be akin to lightly fruit-tasting water. I'll take that if you're not interested in trying it." Ne was punctuated in nir discussion by the rumbling of the ship. Engines had been turned on and it seemed they were now taking off. No escape from this point, ne would have to get used to sharing a room with the extremely gorgeous nokken. He offered to sleep on the couch, but ne would be more accustomed to sleeping on something like that. Though ne had to ask nemself, would it really be so terrible to sleep in the same bed as Kuristoph? The answer was no, no wit wouldn't be terrible at all. Ne set nir mind on the decision to sleep on the couch then. |
