A perfect night for exploring, or potentially trespassing. Kuristoph did not know if this land was owned by anyone in particular, but the man he paid to fly him here on a personal aircraft didn't seem to object. It could just be that the man was simply overpaid since Kuristoph didn't quite have a baring on what was a fair rate for services yet. Still, once he saw this particular skyland on his airship ride to Earthstar he had to come.

It had the most beautiful lake that looked so tranquil and peaceful to him. Plus it was abandoned as far as he could tell. It would be the perfect place for him to swim without disturbing anyone.

"Thank you Pim for this blessing," Kuristoph muttered to himself whilst floating on his back in the water. The fact that he is not wearing any clothes, as most Nokken would while in the water, is the main reason he sought this place out.

The other reason was to find a place he was sure not to find another Nokken. Just better to avoid running into anyone he once knew.

"I like that one a lot," Kuristoph said pointing to the one more brown in color. "It reminds me of my home, back at the river," Kuristoph explained. More specifically, he liked the color brown, green, and grey because it was the primary colors of the area he grew up in. The ground, the grass, the rocks, the trees, and animals were all mostly of the color palette. "Hmmm..." Kuristoph sounded looking at the clothes more suited for him with a bothersome expression.

"Hey, you have really good eyes, right?" he inquired, looking to her with a face begging for assistance. "What looks good? Like, for me to wear?" he asked once more. "I'm going to your home. What would look more Valkyrie or Ekahu for me to wear, you know, without me having wings," he added, not wanting to have giant holes exposing his back.

Actually, on second thought. He would. If he could just not wear a top at all with very loose fitting pants he would.

...if he could just not wear clothes at all he would.

Kuristoph pointed at the brown one and stated that he liked that one the most, and Angeles looked down at the earthy toned attire. Ne had a feeling he would, it just felt a little off so shortly after ne had been so certain that ne felt more like a man, to wear feminine colors. Ne needed three outfits anyway, so ne would get the three of them, but ne would probably just change into the brown one first for today.

For reasons.

Kuristoph them hummed and asked which of the outifits he had found looked best, or rather, most kuvaren so that he could fit in nir homeland better. Ne blinked, thinking that he could walk the streets naked and still be the most fitting male there. But there were laws to follow and ne hummed.

Ne couldn't let nir personal biases get in the way but he did ask what would fit best.

"Kuvaren men usually wear brighter colors," ne admitted, "the brighter or more intense the colors, the more masculine they are. Bright reds, vibrant oranges, vivid pinks, lustrous blacks," ne walked over, indicating to him the clothes of his that he had chosen, of which the green colors were the more masculin, the other two were too subdued, "this would be closest to what a kuvaren male would wear, though it's still very... earthy, so in our culture is very feminin. Women are by natural design not meant to attract the eye, thiers is a more subtle beauty."

Ne turned and touched lightly, a sort of flame-colored suit, a loose flowy thing with lots of lace that started yellow at the top and faded to deep red at the bottom. It was another casual wear, and in this shop was likely meant to be worn by a human woman, but it would be best on a kuvaren man.

"Something like this. Though," ne inwardly sighed at nemself, "you shouldn't want to have to adapt yourself to the culture you enter. Whatever you think you look good in will suffice," ne hated nemself a little.

"Bright colors, got it. How different from humans," Kuristoph noted, looking down at his own clothes. "So what I'm wearing now is feminine in your culture," he said with a smile. "I guess that makes me pretty or beautiful then? or is it different with women in your culture too?" he questioned, looking through some more clothes. "I know for humans men are handsome and women are pretty. I don't entirely understand the difference, just that it's offensive to get it mixed up," he rambled a bit while looking at the outfit that Angeles had pointed out.

It was red. Very red. Lots of red and orange. It reminded him of a number of fish and creatures of the sea. Most notably the bright red crabs that stood out along the sea floor. They were among his favorite foods and they were so very easy to spot.

"That one is very nice looking," He stated, mostly fixated on the pants. The top seemed as though it wasn't very clingy either. Also easy to remove whenever he wanted. "Yeah, that one then. I'll try that one," he asserted as if there were no longer any options.

"And... I know I don't need to conform to cultures, but I want to. It's the best way to learn. Dive in and experience it first hand," he stated, explaining his learning process through a 'diving method. Pun unintended.

Kuristoph took the knowledge of colors and seemed to commit it to memory, asking next about terms used in kuvaren culture as opposed to human.

"They can be used interchangeably among the kuvare," Angeles answered honestly, "though it is more common to hear a man be called words like beautiful, gorgeous or pretty, and women are complimented in ways such as being called subtle, demur, or modest," ne nodded, smirking slightly, "if you try to compare the two cultures we are very, very different, even among the kuvare the ekahuan culture is very different from valkyrien, and not everything has yet to mix, even after a few thousand years. If your hope was not to be confused, I'm afraid that will be difficult."

He considered for a moment, then decided that he would try the brightly colored suit and Angeles claimed a silent victory and grinned.

Kuristoph countered that the best way to adjust to a culture was to dive right in. Ne couldn't fault him, not while ne was living among humans, dressing in human fashion and adhering to thier culture, if only to avoid fights. Ne reflected on this truth revealed to nemself and was a bit silent as ne moved to the man in the brightly colored clothes.

"Do you have fitting rooms?" ne asked. The man stared a bit at nem, in a similar silence as the female Ekahu, trying to place Angeles one way or the other.

Eventually though he slipped into his own mindset and said, "yes, right this way sir." and left his desk and ledger to go unlock the room. Ne peered in, it was lined with mirrors, one would be able to see oneself at every angle. Ne stepped back, "alright, one room, let's take turns. You first."

Ne gestured for him to go inside, and busied nir mind with trying to think of other things besides how good Kuristoph would look in the clothes ne had suggested.

Kuristoph was familiar with fitting rooms. This will be his third one. Well, technically second. One was a changing room at a bath-house which counted enough in his opinion. He really didn't see the difference between a changing room and a fitting room. Although one had a soap he couldn't smell without using a boat-load of it. He felt cheated and would never buy it since it required so much to get an effect.

"Okay, I'll go first," he agreed, stepping into the room.

He was mostly eager to remove his pants. They were torture.

"Lets see," he murmured while removing his clothing and trying to figure out how the new attire was to fit. "Oh, hm, tighter than I thought," he declared after putting on the top. It was designed more for a petite woman than a man with muscle definition and a broad torso. It clung to him a bit tightly, looking very much like a mid-rift shirt. But it exposed his stomach and arms. So really it only covered the top half of his torso, namely his chest and a bit of his stomach.

The pants though were perfect. So loose around the crotch and legs. Only his waist was clung to tightly which was fine. The rest of him felt so free.

"Oh, this feels nice," he said stepping out in the brightly colored outfit with much of his shoulders, arms, and stomach exposed compared to before. This left a lot of the blue on his body exposed for all to see.

Angeles' attempts to not think of how attractive Kuristoph was were going well. Looking at and noting which things in the shop were authentic kuvaren and which things were only inspired by them. Ne sneered a bit at a gaudily masculine pattern of colors one a human women's dress, and thought for a moment that it would be perfect for nem just to further confuse everyone about what sex ne was.

But nir thoughts were quickly brought back to Kuristoph, very quickly, when he began to make noises from within the room. Especially the comment of something being tighter than he expected after some grunting.

Angeles felt nir face flush with heat, and ne didn't even no why. Ne sheepishly looked at the ground, trying to focus on nir claws, the floor the ceiling, anything else, than to the images now in nir mind's eye. Kuristoph finally emerged from the room, and Angeles stared, before smiling with a hint of awe. The fiery colors of the suit contrasted in the most beautiful way to the blues of the scales on his body. It was like a dream, staring at him. Quietly. For longer than was polite.

Angeles cleared nir throat and shook nir head, coughing once and nodded, still feeling an exuberant amount of heat in nir cheek.

"You look beautiful," shit, "I'm glad the fit is also to your liking," ne added hurridly, nir voice pitching slightly.

"My turn now," ne hastily said and slipped into the room, shutting the door and leaning against it, like Kuristoph was going to come barging in with all his glamour. Ne caught nir breath after a moment, leaning nir head against the mirror. What was wrong with nem? Ne knew this all had to do with nir physical attraction to Kuristoph but ne had never experienced it before, not like this at least, not this intensely. ne had already gone through what bit of puberty ne was going to go through, ne should be more in control of nemself than this.

Sighing, ne leaned away from the door and saw nemself in the bright outfit ne war. Frowning at it, ne quickly undressed and changed into the brown suit. The pantlegs were very similar to that which Kuristoph now wore, but the top hung loosely from the shoulders so that the back drooped all the way to nir waist, allowing free movement of nir wings. It covered nir front all the way from hip to collarbone, but was a light enough material to not feel soffocating. Ne looked at nemself in the mirror, at how much like a woman ne was, save for the obvious lack of breasts, and frowned for a moment.

Ne had been so sure the previous day of what ne wanted to be, only to have one man, one gorgeous man, throw that all into turmoil. Such was life, ne supposed.

Gathering nir old clothes and the new outfits, ne walked out from he changing room, not flaunting the new outfit or anything. Flaunting was for men. Instead ne just nodded to the desk, "alright, let's go get these paid for," ne said a bit somberly.

Kuristoph stood in silence from the compliment, not given the time to react before Angeles sped into the dressing room faster than a fish fleeing from a sudden unexpected movement. He had to process it for a moment. Was he beautiful like a Human female or a Valkyrie male? He supposed it didn't matter, he has been confused as a female human once or twice already. Why let it start bothering him now?

"Hmmm, I'm beautiful..." he murmured to himself.

"Oh, yes you are," the clerk behind the counter murmored, overhearing Kuristoph.

"What?" Kuristoph replied, genuinely not hearing what he said

"Oh, nothing, just talking to myself," the clerk retorted quickly, turning a page pretending not to look at Kuristoph.

It didn't take long for Angeles to step out. She looked fantastic to Kuristoph. The outfit fit her perfectly and it was the colors he really liked. He wore it on his face too. He may or may not like surface fashion more than he'd care to admit. Probably because of how unusual it was compared to Nokken fashion. He just hasn't found one that suited him yet. Well, current outfit was the closest thing yet. He just wanted something that felt a bit more free.

"You look very," he paused, trying to use the appropriate term. "Demur, it's subtle.... but beautiful, in a human way, wait, maybe both?" he stumbled on his words, trying to use Valkyrie terminology in the Humans language.

It was hard to get used to two cultures at the same time.

It seemed that Kuristoph was not going to let nem get away without a compliment, stopping nem before ne could get to the counter and trying out the compliments ne had taught to him. He stumbled a bit over mixing the human and kuvaren culture. The jumbled mess of a compliment actually gave nem pause, and made nem smile.

Subtle yet beautiful. If someone were every going to appropriately compliment them in a way that was neither masculine or feminine, that would be it.

"Thank you," ne said genuinely, almost purring, but caught nemself and felt nir face flush again. Ne turned again quickly to the desk and proceeded towards it stating, "now let's pay for these before they think we're stealing them."

Ne was joking of course, but ne needed a good reason to turn away and compose nemself, and doing a duty was a good way of doing that.

"How much for the six outfits," ne said with a rush. Three outfits for the each othe them should be enough for the trip. If it was even longer than anticipated, ne would find out if they did laundry on the ship and they could get the clothes cleaned to wear for however much longer.

Ne was prepared with gold, certain that the clothes were not going to be cheap, not on a ship like this, and looked up to the brightly dressed man, ready to make payment.

It took Kuristoph longer than he'd like to admit to realize that Angeles was paying for his outfit. In fact, he didn't realize it until after the fact. He was about to step up and pay for his only to do the math in his head. His expression dropped from excitement to guilt. He, once again, was in Angeles' debt. This couldn't stand, not that he would reject the gift. That would be rude. But now he had to make sure they were even again.

It was very looked down upon in his family to be in debt to another. They took it very seriously.

Which, in turn, caused him to.

"Okay, should we find food?" Kuristoph inquired, knowing that Angeles was likely hungry due to the mentioning of food earlier.

"Ooh, you two should try the Cafe down the hall. They have lovely seating arrangements, live music, but only at night, so not right now. It's just delightful, perfect spot for a couple like you," the clerk chimed in, a bit of flair showing in his tone.

Kuristoph didn't understand the implication of couple outside of meaning two.

"Okay, that sounds good," Kuristoph said, taking the suggestion without much thought.

Once Angeles paid for the clothing and folded it in nir arms to be carried back to nir room, ne looked to Kuristoph who suggested food next, and ne remembered that ne were, indeed, hungry. The man behind the desk suggested the cafe, stating that it was quite the place to be, but only in the evening. But evening was still some time away, they could eat lunch now and then go back for dinner and a show.

That was when he dropped the word 'couple,' and Angeles eyed the man sharply for what he was implying. And then Kuristoph agreed and Angeles looked at him flabergasted, nir jaw working the air for words but none came out.

"We... should," ne began, flustered, glancing at the salesman, then devoting nir attention to Kuristoph, "we should drop our things off at the room first," ne said hastily, "then go to the cafe for lunch, then back later for dinner."

Ne hastily repeated the barely formed plan in nir head, looked at the human man and inclined nir head to him, "thank you sir for the suggestion," and ne nervously headed out, forcing nemself to not seem to be in a hurry. Ne was out of words to say though, glancing at Kuristoph.

No, there was no way for him to have known what the human man had meant. He likely only thought that it meant that they were together.

But not in that way!

Angeles didn't know what ne was going to do with nemself, acting like a teenage boy suddenly around this gorgeous man. Ne needed something, anything, to give nem focus, at least long enough until ne could get alone and work it out with nemself.

When ne arrived at the room, ne deposited nir clothes in the provided dresser, stepping back to let Kuristoph do with his new and old clothes what he willed, and looked at the window again. Still thinking that jumping out sounded like a very good idea.
