A perfect night for exploring, or potentially trespassing. Kuristoph did not know if this land was owned by anyone in particular, but the man he paid to fly him here on a personal aircraft didn't seem to object. It could just be that the man was simply overpaid since Kuristoph didn't quite have a baring on what was a fair rate for services yet. Still, once he saw this particular skyland on his airship ride to Earthstar he had to come.

It had the most beautiful lake that looked so tranquil and peaceful to him. Plus it was abandoned as far as he could tell. It would be the perfect place for him to swim without disturbing anyone.

"Thank you Pim for this blessing," Kuristoph muttered to himself whilst floating on his back in the water. The fact that he is not wearing any clothes, as most Nokken would while in the water, is the main reason he sought this place out.

The other reason was to find a place he was sure not to find another Nokken. Just better to avoid running into anyone he once knew.

Kuristoph followed with a near skip in his walk. He felt so much freedom from his new attire. He could float on air almost with as much wind resistance the loose leggings of his pants provided. It reminded him of the way water resisted the body. Not to mention the feeling of air against more of his skin was refreshing. He was fortunate few people were on the vessel and none were out to witness the site of this flamboyantly dressed man dawn the halls as he was.

Besides the staff. Who were plenty used to it and didn't seem to mind in the slightest.

"There we go," Kuristoph sounded after packing his old human clothes into his bag. "To lunch then, and then later for a show," he said with the same enthusiasm he always had. "Perhaps they have some hard drinks," he added in a sarcastic tone to mock the concept some more.

Without missing a beat, Kursitoph was at the door and waiting for Angeles to join him.

Although down the hall was very specific instructions, the two found it with relative ease. After all there was a very finite number of halls on this vessel. The entrance was much more human in design, but had many paintings of Ekahu and Valkyrie culture on the walls everywhere. Valkyrie were almost exclusively portrayed in a warrior-like fashion in a very poetic way. The Ekahu, however, were all painted as nobles or scholars. Many of them with glasses for symbology.

"Welcome, you've made it to the Keehuu cafe, a will there be others or," the man paused, "Is it just you two," he questioned while twirling a mustache he was far too proud of.

"Just us," Kuristoph replied.

"Excellent, follow me," the employee responded, leading them to a table designed for two.

It forced them to be facing one another in a rather... close arrangement. The table was lit with candles and had a small arrangement of flowers in the middle that the host removed after showing them their table.

"You're waiter shall be with you shortly," he bowed before removing himself from the scene.

It was difficult to stay gloomy or brooding for very long around Kuristoph. Angeles was discovering this fact add he practically skipped down the halls, and put his things away, joking again about hard liquor. He held the door for nem this time, and ne passed through it, noticing that there was a locking mechanism ne hasn't noticed the first time.

How human too worry about their things getting stolen, or secrets being found out.

Ne didn't dwell in it for long and didn't bother locking the door. Wow to the person who stole from a valkyrie.

The two wandered the halls for only a bit before finding the cafe. They were greeted with another human host who was twirling his mustache, which Angeles watched with some intrigue. Ne had not met such a man with such a habit yet in nir life; it seemed an odd one to have, to intentionally pull at one's facial hairs.

Ne almost missed the question being asked, and the way it was asked. Luckily Kuristoph didn't miss the question and responded, though he seemed to have missed the tone that made Angeles frown. It seemed it was going to be a common assumption that they were courting, and ne was very glad nir blush wasn't immediately apparent.

The two were set at a very intimate table, and told that the waiter would be by shortly. Angeles sighed and pinched the bridge of nir nose for a bit, before looking to Kuristoph, feeling needlessly nervous.

"If the menus not in humanism, I'll translate for you, and if you have questions about what the food is, I can explain," ne was surprised a nemself for how even nir voice sounded. At the very least ne hadn't heard it waver or pitch, though it was doubtful Kuristoph would have noticed or cared.

Almost right after Angeles had offered translation, an Ekahu male in very bright colors appeared with a warm towels that he placed before the both of them. He politely bowed before speaking and said, "Good afternoon, welcome to our lovely establishment. Here are our menus, the special today is a salmon dinner, may I take your order for your drinks?" he finished, being one of the few to not stare at Angeles for longer than was polite.

"I'd like to try one of those... hard drinks," Kursitpoph responded.

"Which one," the waiter responded, pointing to the menu that was in Humanish where the drinks were.

"Oh, um..." Kuristoph hesitated.

"Shall I decide for you sir?" the waiter asked.

"Yes, please," Kuristoph nodded, not really sure which to order.

"And you..." he paused for a moment. "Ma'am?" after deciding that Angeles was indeed female.

The waiter wasted no time in arriving at their table to take orders, though Angeles had to admit it seemed strange that a dinner dish was the lunch special. They started with drinks and Kuristoph ordered something 'hard,' allowing for the waiter to decide for him since he wasn't sure which one he wanted. The Ekahu gentleman turned then to Angeles, using a feminine title, likely influenced by nir wardrobe.

Angeles had no intention of letting them both drink, but then remembered that Kuristoph couldn't really get drunk, so he would be the designated sober one of the pair, making sure ne didn't get into trouble. Then again, though, Kuristoph wasn't well versed in culture or social standards or laws. His naivete could get them in just as much trouble as if they were both drunk. Best not to risk it.

"I'll have some warm tumeric milk, if it's available."

The waiter wrote the drinks down and looked to them again, "I'll be back swiftly with your drinks, I invite you to peruse through the menus while you wait," he inclined his head and turned. Angeles watched the luster of his black feathers as he passed by the windows, before looking at Kuristoph again. A handsome Ekahu, but he couldn't even compare to the nokken.

"I don't recommend the salmon dinner," ne said, reaching for and looking through the menu, "especially if you're feeling adventurous and want to try something new. Let's see.... have you ever had unicorn?" ne flashed nir golden eyes up past the edge of the menu to the beautiful man across from nem. Ne was willing to bet he hadn't, it was a very rare dish to serve in human culture.

"I... Didn't know you could eat unicorn,"Kristopher confessed. "I read myths and legends about them. I thought they were special," he said, feeling like he may be eating a sacred creature due to his ignorance.

It doesn't help that majority of his literature gas been religious in nature.

"Okay. I will try the Unicorn," he declared, trusting Angeles's judgment. "By the way.... What was the drink you ordered?" He inquired, curious if it was a hard drink, light drink or... Drink drink.

Kuristoph admitted to having thought that unicorns were some kind of magical sacred animal. A notion that ne found was a common belief in the human culture. But unicorns were just animals, not too unlike deer or goats. But ne would not press the matter, ne could only make the suggestion, making that choice was his prerogative.

He did ultimately decide to try the unicorn, and Angeles settled on a dish of roast firebird, something ne suspected he had also not had before, just in case he didn't like the unicorn, or in case he wanted to try more than one new thing that evening.

"The drink," ne began answering, setting nir menu down on the table, "is warm milk, probably either cow or unicorn, with a spice called tumeric mixed into it," ne leaned on the table, crossing one hand elegantly over the other and resting nir chin on them, golden eyes level with the young man, "it's nothing really special, but it's healthy, in a medicinal sort of way. My father always made it for me while I was in the academy, at least until I was old enough to make it myself."

Nir eyes searched his face a moment before smirking, amused, "it's not alcoholic."

Kuristoph was caught a bit off guard by Angeles' sudden change in body language. It was... more flirtatious than before, even if unintentionally so. Perhaps he was reading into it a bit, but it was the first time ne had put butterflies into his stomach since they first met. It caused him to question a few things and think back on everything since they've met. Has ne flirted with him before and he was ignorant of it? Was ne even flirting with him now?

Do... Valkyrie flirt similarly enough to Nokken's for him to pick up on it?

Was Angeles coming onto him in a way a Valkyrie woman would or a male would...?

He had a lot of questions, which caused him to sort of stare at her in the eyes for longer than he meant to. He had a bad habit of being lost in thought when presented with a question he was uncomfortable with asking aloud.

"The..." he hesitated a moment. "The academy, did it require a lot of you to need a healthier diet than normal?" he asked, making small talk mostly to distract his mind.

He was slightly nervous for no reason, much like when he was preening her feathers. He started to calm himself down by slowing his breathing and letting his muscles loosen up.

Kuristoph was suddenly silent in response to nir words, looking nem in the eye for a long while. It was long enough for nem to question silently what was wrong, and nir eyes breaking contact with his to begin looking for a source to the problem. Ne fianlly lifted nir chin and looked down at nemself, intending to see if some article of clothing had slipped, but then noted how ne was sitting, and quickly shifted to something more casual, though that was difficult with the chair. Ne blinked wide eyes, felt like apologizing, but didn't.

Luckily Kuristoph began to speak, asking about the academy and Angeles nodded to his inquiry, clearing nir throat, "yes, the academy is where all able-bodied Valkyrie go to train to be warriors. Our social role in the kuvare is to be the standing military and home defense, when needed. Despite my handicap this was something I still wanted to do, something my father was supportive of."

Ne hoped the awkward tension would go away quickly before the waiter came back. Ne didn't need more confusion about them being a 'couple.'

"As it is now I'm officially registered as a soldier, a private, nothing of note. I'm officially off duty, as most Valkyrie are. We've had little need of late to be any sort of real military, aside from occasional troll attacks and Obagr trying to push their boarders and Ogres sometimes trying their luck. And keeping an eye on Kunrun."

Ne said the last with a bit more malice than ne intended, and didn't even realize, much like ne didn't realize that ne had gon back to leaning forward on the table. It was simply not possible to lean back in the chair with nir wings.

"Oh, Kunrun, I almost went there once with a friend. We went our separate ways mid-journey and I went back to Earthstar," Kuristoph rambled for a moment, taking the opportunity to sort of distract from the previous awkwardness. "Is... Kunrun a bad place?" he inquired, curious why the Valkyrie would need to keep an eye on things there.

But before Angeles could answer, the Waiter returned with their drinks.

"Here you are," the waiter addressed plurally. "One Polonaise, a very hard drink from my homeland. It's main ingredient is Blackberry Liqueur. Although it has been altered for Human tastes with some lemon juice and orange zest to counter the bitter taste of Blackberries," the waiter described, passing forward the blood-red drink with ice in it.

"And some Unicorn Tumeric Milk for the lovely lady," he continued, sliding Angeles the drink. "Now, are we ready to order... or...?" he paused waiting for a reply.

"Yes!" Kuristoph chimed happily. "I want to try the Unicorn," he replied hastily.

"The Unicorn....?" the waiter questioned not sure which Unicorn entre he meant. "You know what, I'll get you the Unicorn," understanding that this gentleman needed a bit of help deciding things. "And for you madam?" he inquired to Angeles

Angeles' eyes sharpened when Kuristoph mentioned he had almost been to Kunrun, but had turned back part-way. It sounded like his friend was someone he should be careful of trusting. With his looks he could have easily been sold into a brothel, or worse.

That's when he asked if Kunrun was a bad place, only to be interrupted by the waiter, addressing Angeles as 'lady' and handing nem nir drink. Ne didn't correct the man, merely slid the glass closer to nem and turned nir attention to the waiter. He asked if they were ready to order and kuristoph answered immediately, though didn't sepcify which of the unicorn dishes he wanted. That seemed to not be a problem for the waiter who then turned to Angeles.

"I'll have the roast firebird please," ne said, finally folding nir menu and setting it back where they had found them, "heavy on the sauce please."

Ne smiled and nodded to the waiter, indicating that ne was finished ordering. The waiter wrote the orders down, bowed, and left. As he retreated, Angeles' small smile faded and ne looked at nir drink.

"It's not a place to talk about in polite company," ne finally answered Kuristoph, running nir finger around the rim of nir glass, "I would not call it a good place, no."

Ne frowned, remembering the things ne had seen there after having been forced down on the mountain by a storm. Ne had been horrified and outraged, and had to leave before ne started trouble that ne could not handle. Ne wanted to help, but ne was one person, and Kunrun was an entire nation. Nothing ne did would help the many only the few, and would end up hurting far more in the long run.

That was, at least, what ne told nemself to try to ease the guilt.
