A perfect night for exploring, or potentially trespassing. Kuristoph did not know if this land was owned by anyone in particular, but the man he paid to fly him here on a personal aircraft didn't seem to object. It could just be that the man was simply overpaid since Kuristoph didn't quite have a baring on what was a fair rate for services yet. Still, once he saw this particular skyland on his airship ride to Earthstar he had to come.

It had the most beautiful lake that looked so tranquil and peaceful to him. Plus it was abandoned as far as he could tell. It would be the perfect place for him to swim without disturbing anyone.

"Thank you Pim for this blessing," Kuristoph muttered to himself whilst floating on his back in the water. The fact that he is not wearing any clothes, as most Nokken would while in the water, is the main reason he sought this place out.

The other reason was to find a place he was sure not to find another Nokken. Just better to avoid running into anyone he once knew.

Kuristoph was a bit confused as he entered the room. It felt so familiar to Human culture, but the religion being protrayed was not Human based at all. Was the Human religion and Ekahu religion so similar in design? He thought while looking around before his eyes landed on Angeles. Her expression said it all. This wasn't as things were meant to be.

"What can you tell me about that one?" Kuristoph asked after a specific statue was pointed out to him. The color was a bit bland to him, but he did notice the webbed feet.

The feet reminded him of birds designed more for swimming; ducks, swans, geese, and other birds commonly found in water. There were even some that would dive into the water that he was familiar with. A creature of both worlds, the sky and the water were its domain. However, thinking about birds reminded him of seagulls... his least favorite bird. They were horrid pests that swarmed everywhere food was to be found in a slightly warm climate.

He'd rather not dwell on the thought of Seagulls.

Disgusting creatures... He thought once more before paying complete attention to Angeles.

"I can," Angeles answered simply and stepped up onto the stage and approached the pillar and portrait. As ne thought, the bowl was filled with water, and ne touched nir finger to the surface.

Tepid.

"Rella Luka," ne began, "is the overseeing spirit of all things in a liquid state. Oceans, rivers, blood, rain. He also governs all of the seasons except for summer. He is also the god of tears, ones of joy, laughter and sorrow," ne frowned a bit and turned to glance at the other portraits.

"It's said that in order to better govern water, Rella Luka tore out his flight feathers and dropped into the ocean, where he learned to stay afloat and developed webbed feet in order to navigate the vast oceans."

Ne looked again to Kuristoph, "as all things Ekahuan, though, he is almost less important individually than he is as one of the whole of the pantheon," ne indicated to the ropes, "for example he is responsible for the blood, tears, and other fluids that make up a person, but without a body made of flesh which is of the earth, governed by Rella Kal, people would just be puddles of various liquids on the ground. Without the heat of the body it would be cold and dead, and heat, fire and emotion are the domains of Rella Dagota. Without breath to fill the lungs people suffocate and die, and breath is provided by Rella Tohuk. Lastly the whole of a person would be nothing without its soul, which is given to each person at birth by Rella Ruloch, who also takes the soul away once the body has been cremated, and its ashes set to the wind. All of the gods come together to make what a person is, a person. And for Ekahu, all things in the world are a unified effort to govern, and maintain.

"All things in the world are thus unified and the Ekahu strive to encapsulate that," ne concluded, leaning forward onto the pulpit. It could be easily seen that this was not a tale of the god that nir heart was completely in, as ne casually picked at nir nails with a sigh.

Kuristoph was listening intently while trying to commit everything said to memory. However the topic began to shift and explain the entire Ekahu religion as a whole and how none of the Gods as individuals were all that great, but as a whole were the reason behind everything. At least according to the Ekahu. However Kuristoph started to pick up on Angeles' disinterest in the topic at hand. This made Kuristoph start to feel guilty... they were doing something that he wanted to do but in turn it made her bored.

"Thank you, I appreciate it, I really do," he said, giving her a sincere smile while looking around the room for a moment only to notice a map of the ship. Now that he thought about it, he saw similar poster-like patterns throughout the ship. It just wasn't obvious to him what it was until he saw this one. Perhaps the fact that it stood out so much in this room made him finally notice it. "Hey, follow me," Kuristoph beckoned, waving for Angeles to follow.

The moment she seemed like she was following, Kuristoph was off and out of the room, taking a turn, another and then up some stairs. There was a door, a bit smaller than the rest on the ship. This room seemed to have been added on or re-purposed after it was built or perhaps they assumed Valkyrie and Ekahu would have no interest in it. Kuristoph felt bad that he took Angeles to a room with an uncomfortable door, but she was likely very used to these kinds of doors.

Once inside, it was very obvious what the room was. It was an Observitory. A room where the roof and walls, excluding the wall with the door, were all made of a strong glass. This gave a wonderful view of the outside, which was quite bright as it was the afternoon. This made the ring around the planet quite hard to see compared to night, dusk, or dawn.

"See? I saw it on the map... isn't it pretty?" he asked, eager to change the scenery for them since the Human/Ekahu hybrid chapel seemed to be getting her down.

Kuristoph thanked nem, and ne wasn't entirely sure why. For the lesson? Ne was certain it hadn't really been any good. Ne cocked nir brow at Kuristoph before noticing that he had caught his eye on something. Ne looked over and spotted a map, but wasn't aware of its significance, but it seemed to trigger something in the nokken.

Kuristoph bid nem to follow him and ne leaned away from the pulpit and gladly left behind the human-ekahuan chapel and followed Kuristoph at his brisk pace, twisting and turning around halls and down stairs until he opened a very human-sized door. Ne folded nir wings tight on nir back and stepped inside before letting them relax.

Ne was greeted with warm sunlight and clouds, coming in through every direction save the ground and behind them. The orange of the sunlight caught nir eyes and almost made them seem to glow gold.

"Well this is something," ne said, staring out. It was an odd sensation, standing still and upright while flying sideways.

"It's very pretty," ne responded to Kuristoph, looking around. There were benches and chairs in this place, a few small tables, a lot of plants that benefited from the clear walls. It gave the room a nice earthy scent, and a tad more humidity than the rest of the ship.

"I've never seen something like this on a ship before," ne admitted, stepping up to the clear walls and resting nir hand on them. It had to have been made of the same thick glass as the other windows of the ship, likely even double-paned. The glass under nir hand felt cool to the touch.

"Imagine this room at night, or in a storm even," ne mused a bit, eyes focusing outside.

"If only Rella Luka would bless us with a storm... or would that be Rella Tohuk and Rella Luka working together?" Kuristoph asked with a quirked brow, making sure he had a grasp of how this particular faith worked. He then recalled Angeles' disinterest in the subject and wished he had never mentioned it just now. "I mean, yeah. It would look amazing in a storm," he corrected while moving over to where Angeles was looking and nearly pressing his face against the glass to get a better view.

"At least it's not as scary as actual flight was," he murmored, trying to see directly down without much success. An imprint of his face was left on the window in the form of smudges when he released the window and pulled back to look at Angeles. "Thank you for joining me on this journey, it has made it all the more better.... plus I'd still be in that lagoon, forced to survive off of rock growth and birds that came there to bathe forever," he stated in a joking manner about be stranded on a floating island forever.

His imagination caused him to imagine him making a hut near the Lagoon so he could use the Lagoon as a trapping site for food.

He couldn't imagine himself lasting long.

"A storm would be a combined effort," ne answered simply, unbothered by the question, "Rella Luka for the rain and clouds, Rella Tohuk for the wind and thunder, and Rella Dagota for the lightning," Valkyrien religion was so much simpler in such regards. One god was a god of storms, that was it.

Ne looked over when he said flying on an airship was not as frightening as flying as they had done earlier. Ne supposed that would be a usual sentiment for species that normally didn't fly, to still feel the land beneath thier feet. Or water around thier body in the case of nokken.

He then thanked nem for coming with him, and for rescuing him from the lagoon, as otherwise he would have had to have lived off of the meager means the skyland would have been able to provide.

Ne smirked, glancing at the imprint of his face on the glass and chuckled, "it was my pleasure, luck that it was that I was there in the first place."

Ne smirked at him, "or maybe divine providence."

"Definitely divine providence," Kuristoph agreed, unable to determine any other cause for his rescue other than the will of the gods... or god. Did one of the many like him? Perhaps his recent curiosity in other religions had caused him to catch the eye of a specific god? Which one though and what did he do to please them?

He had so many questions.

"Would you like to return to our room soon? I know there isn't a lot to do on this flight and you are surely tired from carrying me, plus a big meal usually makes me tired," Kuristoph inquired, curious if Angeles had any indication of being tired yet despite the time of day. Not to mention they had stayed up rather late waiting on his transport. So for them, it was probably getting close to bed time.

Although he would rather have worked off some of the calories he had taken in before going to bed, but he had a hard time imagining the ship had a pool or a place designed for working out.

Kuristoph agreed that it was divine providence, as Angeles thought he would, and ne chuckled lightly, looking out again.

Nir companion then suggested that they go back to the room and rest, especially after such a long flight and big meal and ne looked to the ceiling in thought, and then nodded, "I think I could use a nap."

Ne turned and moved to the door of the observatory, holding it open for Kuristoph this time. Ne had only had a small nap before the sun had risen and the decision to fly to Renfield had been made, not to mention the alcohol that ne had no idea was in nir system at present. But ne didn't feel tired enough for a full rest, given that there was also a dinner with a show that the two of them could attend in the evening, and see how different the ship was at night.

Ne walked with Kuristoph back to their room and stepped inside, Angeles locking the door more out of habit than mistrust, and nir eye landed on what ne could see of the nest-like bed from nir position, and then the couch, before moving to the couch and pressing nir hand to test its softness. Ne didn't like the feel of it but, "it'll do, if you're willing to spare a blanket and pillow from the bed," ne said, looking to Kuristoph.

Kuristoph followed with eagerness, mostly because he was genuinely tired. The stress of his first flight that high while being carried in the arms of a Valkyrie combined with the lack of sleep and a large meal had tuckered him out. He was longing for that couch that he had set his mind on sleeping on. It only made sense. Angeles required larger space, so she should take the bed. He was tiny and could easily fit on the couch comfortably.

It was to his surprise that Angeles wanted the couch.

"Oh, um... I can take the couch," he said somewhat timidly. "I don't require much space, you should have the bed," he added, a bit more assertive but still oh so very timid in his proclamation.

He didn't want to come off as though he were commanding her, but also didn't want to request it at the same time. It was an awkward feeling that he lacked the vocabulary to describe. Which was fine, since most humans lacked the vocabulary in their own language to properly describe their emotions. So in truth, he was doing better than most.

Kursitoph was readying himself for the rebuttal.

Angeles blinked when Kuristoph stated he could take the couch, and ne should have the bed, apparently due to an issue of space. Ne looked at nir wings, then cocked a brow at the bed, then looked to Kuristoph, then almost glowered at the couch, as if it was responsible for all of it.

He had a point though, he was much thinner than ne was, and lacked wings, but ne had trouble figuring how ne would get comfortable in the bed-nest needing to lie on nir side or front.

Ne briefly entertained the idea of sharing the bed but immediately pushed the thought out with a rush of heat to nir cheeks.

"Alright," ne said, stepping towards and reaching for the bed, the mental image of nem and him cuddled together in the odd nest... and more... stuck in nir mind. Ne gathered a blanket and a couple of the pillows and stood a bit abashed before Kuristoph, offering the bundle in nir arms to him. Ne wanted to say something, but remained thin-lipped for fear that opening nir mouth would let out exactly what ne didn't want to slip.
