![]() ![]() Open to one character A perfect night for exploring, or potentially trespassing. Kuristoph did not know if this land was owned by anyone in particular, but the man he paid to fly him here on a personal aircraft didn't seem to object. It could just be that the man was simply overpaid since Kuristoph didn't quite have a baring on what was a fair rate for services yet. Still, once he saw this particular skyland on his airship ride to Earthstar he had to come. It had the most beautiful lake that looked so tranquil and peaceful to him. Plus it was abandoned as far as he could tell. It would be the perfect place for him to swim without disturbing anyone. "Thank you Pim for this blessing," Kuristoph muttered to himself whilst floating on his back in the water. The fact that he is not wearing any clothes, as most Nokken would while in the water, is the main reason he sought this place out. The other reason was to find a place he was sure not to find another Nokken. Just better to avoid running into anyone he once knew. Edited by Kuristoph, 29/04/2018 - 10:00 pm.

Angeles comment had caused Kuristoph to address his own lips, realizing he had cream on it. He began to lick at it only to realize the setting would cause that to be inappropriate. He reached for a nearby cloth provided to them for just this occasion and cleaned his face with it about when Angeles asked a question about his opinion on the topic of the drink so far. "It tastes nice. I like fruit drinks like these. Seems a lot of hard drinks have a fruit base for some reason," he noted, taking another sip and wiping his mouth once again. "But I am not going to resist temptation like you," he declared, mixing the cream into the drink with a nearby fork and then setting it back down onto the cloth he used a moment ago. Satisfied with the mixture he took another sip which allowed for the drink to be less of a mess. "Much better... and oh it tastes good mixed still," he noted, holding up his drink that was now a more off-pinkish white color. |

"I think because a lot of alcohol by itself isn't very...," ne paused to think of a word, "flavorful, alcohol is almost more an experience, like a sharpness or a buzz, than a taste, so they get creative with mixing flavors to give a good drink with the experience of alcohol. Fruit is an easy choice because fruit is often very flavorful. I've known some to be made of vegetable juices though, and some that are almost like a hearty soup, back in Menawe." Nir mind flashed back to Menawe, good hearted people, a couple crazy humans, one very angry troll. Ne chuckled to nemself. Then watched in shock as Kuristoph announced he would not resist temptation and used his fork to stir the entire piece, fruit, creme, drink and ice, into one pinkish-white mass. And Angeles stared at him in horror. Then laughed. "Not a man of art I see," ne joked, "I think I'll keep mine like this though," ne said, lifting nir drink in a similar manner, almost as if to say 'cheers' before taking another sip. Licking the creme off nir upper lip. |

"I like art, but art is temporary," Kuristoph declared, looking over at the band. "Like the song they are singing now. It is pretty, elegant, and wonderful. But it will end. I can't hear it forever, only reflect on it in my mind," he rambled a bit while looking back to the drink. "So while the drink was pretty, and does indeed still taste good, it wasn't meant to last, but be remembered," he concluded before taking another sip. "Sorry, I went on again," he apologized for his habit of just going on about a topic for no reason. "Your meals sir and madam," the waiter announced as he pulled up with their salads, placing both before them. "Do you require anything else?" he inquired to the couple. "No, I am content," Kuristoph spoke, turning to Angeles awaiting her response. |

Kuristoph opened up on some thoughts he had about art, and Angeles could only stare at him in silence. He spoke about how the drink, the song, they were temporary things to be enjoyed now but only remembered later. He then apologized, which brought Angeles back to nir senses, nir eyes focusing on him, and then down to nir drink. And then to the waiter who returned with thier salads and placed them before the two of them. When the waiter asked if they were in need of anything else, Kuristoph stated he needed nothing. The ekahu then looked to Angeles who shook nir head and smiled, still a bit dazed. "I'm alright, thank you." The waiter inclined his head in a small bow and ne watched him leave to continue his work, then watched a little longer to see if he was going to keep being weird. Nir eyes didn't linger on him for long as ne lifted nir fork and looked at nir salad, and then nir drink again, staring at it a bit. "Fleeting...," ne murmured, before taking nir fork and dipping it into the drink stirring it gently until it was all one uniform pink-white color. Ne took nir fork and stuck it in nir mouth with a thoughtful hum, before finally diverting nir eyes to nir salad and using the fork to gather some of the leaves and chicken. |

Kuristoph smiled as he watched Angeles stir her drink into a uniform color. It seemed his words had some impact on her. He was happy to provide different perspectives to people... especially since his was so very different from everyone's. Hearing another perspective helped broaden one's concept of reality. Even if it doesn't change how they look at a thing, they can now look at it from an additional angle and see it in more clarity versus just the one way they were looking at it before. It helps turn flat objects into something with depth. "This tastes really good, chicken is it?" Kuristoph asked almost rhetorically after swallowing. "The plants feel different from what I'm used to. So crisp and crunchy compared to plants back home," he noted, thinking back to the various types of seaweeds and kelp his people use as a food. "Is this an Ekahu, Valkyrie, or Human based dish?" he inquired to Angeles with genuine curiosity. He had lots of questions... |

"The meat is chicken," Angeles confirmed with a nod, once nir mouth wasn't full, "the leaves are a mix of a few things but the staple in it is laeradr which is actually a tree leaf," ne said, poking at the named leaf with nir fork. "It's not ekahuan or valkyrien, but I don't know if it's a humanish dish for sure. I know laeradr is a human word for the tree, but I think the tree comes from Owa, and the apples are definitely humanish, it may just be an intercultural dish," ne finally answered, looking to Kuristoph, "I wasn't familiar with it either, which is why I selected it for us to try." Kuristoph seemed to be enjoying the dish, which put Angeles' worries of it being too sweet at ease. Ne took another drink of the strawberry liquor and continued eating. It was all around a very sweet-flavored dinner, and ne definitely felt it needed some balancing out lest their stomachs not take too kindly to it. So ne filched the menu back over and began to peruse for something light but savory to add to the meal. Nir eyes was drawn to the soups again and ne hummed in uncertainty, tapping the menu against the table. Ne didn't want to order a whole other dinner on top of dinner, but all of the smaller dishes were desserts or bread, "are you alright with just the salad?" ne finally asked, figuring that if he was fine, ne would be fine as well. |

"Yes, we have food back at the room if we get hungry. I don't think I can eat the whole salad or anything more than it to be honest," Kuristoph admitted with a small sigh after swallowing another bite. "Nokken tend to only need to eat one full meal a day. But we space our meals out throughout the day most of the time. Eating small meals throughout the day rather than large meals," Kursitoph explained, staring at the salad like it was going to be the death of him if he ate more. "It's part of the reason most of my people are so lean. Well, that and we are swimming almost every moment of the day, sometimes under intense pressure from deep waters or against currents," Kursitoph continued to ramble before sipping on his drink some more. "But if you'd like more food, don't feel bad because I'm not eating," he pleaded, not wanting her to hold back on eating because of him. |

Kuristoph reminded Angeles that they had food back in the room, and Angeles nodded and put the menu away. He then went into a bit of nokken physiology and how their metabolism could handle one meal a day, but how socially they would eat several small meals throughout the day. This combined with daily strenuous exercise made for lean bodies. And Angeles was entirely not ready to be thinking about Kuristoph's body, and felt a bit of heat rise to nir cheeks as the mental image of him slipped into nir mind, uninvited but not necessarily unwelcome. "No, not that I wanted more food, just something to balance out the sweetness," ne said, digging into nir salad with a small cough, "and in turn, don't feel like you need to keep eating just because I am," ne said. nir golden eyes flashing up to him. Ne could see his apprehension with taking more bites than he already had, and ne had nir fork ready to strike at his if he dared go for another bit out of politeness. |

"You're right," Kuristoph sighed in defeat, pushing his plate forward as though he were done. He was, however, not done with his drink. He always had room for something to drink. "I--" A round of applause interrupted Kuristoph as the first song finished. This caused the Nokken to start clapping as well since it was considered rude to not clap so long as those on stage performed well. The act was given a moment to drink water and rest their voice as the host came back to the stage ready to announce something. He cleared his throat before... "The next song goes out to the couples here tonight, if any would like to come to the dance floor we're opening it for the next few songs," the host declared before returning to his station. Almost as if on cue their waiter returned to their table with a second round of drinks, setting them on the table with a calm expression. "On the house, for being repeat customers," he declared, leaning over to Kuristoph to whisper, "Dance with her," and leaving without giving him a chance to respond. Kursitoph blinked in silence for a moment, watching the waiter leave before turning to Angeles... then his drink. He downed what was left of his old drink before looking back up to Angeles and asking, "Would, um... you like to dance?" |

Kuristoph pushed his plat forward and Angeles smirked and went back to eating, glad that ne didn't have to enter a duel of forks with nir companion for his benefit. Ne was not really paying attention to the announcement, though ne heard what was announced, ne simply didn't think the announcement concerned nem. Ne did notice when the waiter came to give them two new full drinks, on the house for being repeat customers, though ne had a feeling it was for another reason entirely, giving the waiter a smirk before going back to nir meal. That was when Kuristoph asked nem to dance. Ne looked up from nearly taking a bite of salad and stared at him a bit, then to the dance floor that had been opened up to some couples who were already there, then to nem again. Nir heart was racing so quickly. Clearing nir throat, ne set down the fork and used the napkin to wipe nir lips clean, "I would like to dance," ne responded, softer than ne would have liked. Ne turned an ear to the song and recognized it, then looked to Kuristoph and was willing to bet he didn't know the steps. There was also the issue of which of them took the male and female parts of the dance. Should ne take the lead and do the male part? With so many humans around that would probably be a very bad idea, since of them he looked the most male. Ne bit nir lip, maybe dancing wasn't the best idea afterall, but still ne had somehow found nir way to the dance floor anyway, and ne looked at Kuristoph nervously, and hoping against hope asked. "Do you know this dance?" |
