![]() ![]() Open to one character A perfect night for exploring, or potentially trespassing. Kuristoph did not know if this land was owned by anyone in particular, but the man he paid to fly him here on a personal aircraft didn't seem to object. It could just be that the man was simply overpaid since Kuristoph didn't quite have a baring on what was a fair rate for services yet. Still, once he saw this particular skyland on his airship ride to Earthstar he had to come. It had the most beautiful lake that looked so tranquil and peaceful to him. Plus it was abandoned as far as he could tell. It would be the perfect place for him to swim without disturbing anyone. "Thank you Pim for this blessing," Kuristoph muttered to himself whilst floating on his back in the water. The fact that he is not wearing any clothes, as most Nokken would while in the water, is the main reason he sought this place out. The other reason was to find a place he was sure not to find another Nokken. Just better to avoid running into anyone he once knew. Edited by Kuristoph, 29/04/2018 - 10:00 pm.

"Okay, that sounds like a good idea. It's easier to unwind there, feels like we have privacy to be more natural," Kuristoph agreed, following her lead out of the observatory and eventually to their room. Kuristoph had many thoughts along the way, most of them having nothing to do with anything relevant, but the rest were about Angeles. She had found her way into his mind more and more with each passing moment. More specifically about their dance earlier and by the time they reached their room, Kuristoph had remembered something he promised her. Something he intended to act on in a moment since he still had a bit of confidence in himself from a moment ago. "I want to show you something," Kuristoph declared, waving Angeles to go sit down on the bed as he moved over to his bag. Kuristoph began to ruffle through things while simultaneously undressing himself. He only stopped himself once so that he could turn to make sure the door was locked. He was a bit embarrassed, but was eager to live up to his word. After a moment longer in his bag, Kursitoph turned to face Angeles with many strands of cloth hanging from his body. Each one was a vibrant color that contrasted well with with the colors of his own body. Two strands were tied to each of his arms, another to each ankle, and a few were tied around his torso making an "X" across his chest. He stepped forward with a deep sigh and smiled. "I want to show you the dance I mentioned..." he declared, eager, yet anxious. Without waiting for permission he began to humm in a very low tone that almost sounded unnatural by human standards. It was rhythmic in nature to the slow movements his body began to go through. However without much warning his would make a click in beat to the rythem that his body jerked to, causing the strands of cloth dangling from his body to flow with his movements. His flowing movements continued as his body contorted through mostly stomach and hip movements, his arms providing the illusion of being under water. But each time he clicked in beat to his song-like hum, his whole body would suddenly shift to a different position. With time the clicks came more frequently. Rather than moving at adagio the clicks would soon pick up to andante and eventually to allegro where his body would be jerking into different positions rather rapidly while still moving in slow flowing motions between clicks. After about two minutes, Kuristoph stopped and let out the remaining breath he had and inhaled again. "What did you think...?" |

Kuristoph was rather silent as they made their way back to their room, ne assumed it had to do something with what ne had said about him and his colors. By the time they arrived Angeles was making nir way to the icebox when Kuristoph said he had something to show nem and motioned for nem to sit. Ne looked at the nest and set the bags down before sitting in the awkwardly designed bed, looking over as Kuristoph was hastily undressing, and crossed nir legs, feeling some heat in nir cheeks again. Ne continued to watch as the nokken adorned himself in several colorful scarves, before standing before Angeles in all his glory. Kuristoph mentioned showing nem a dance and ne vaguely recalled that being mentioned back in the cafe, and merely nodded wide-eyed as the man began to humm, click, and move. Ne sat enraptured with the motions of his body, the odd jerky moments where he would shift position or stance. Ne could imagine what it looked like under water, the scarves weightless as they flowed around his body, not quite like they did in the air. The tempo of his song, and his dance, increased into a crescendo before he finished and finally took another breath, asking nem what ne thought. With wide eyes, seemingly having not blinked the entire time, Angeles stared at him, and attempted to take a sip of nir empty glass. Once ne realized ne was just sucking air, ne coughed and filched another strawberry from it. "That was beautiful," ne said a bit breathless, bringing the strawberry to nir lips and trying not to stare, and failing, "I can imagine what you mean that it's different in the water." Ne felt almost like Kuristoph had performed a Chageshee for nem, but ne knew that he couldn't have known what that was, unless it was described to him in the book that the ekahu gave him. Ne glanced at the book, a bit accusingly, before shifting and standing from the bed and approaching him, "very elegant, and different; the staccato motions that you do with your body, where you stop and start again quickly, I've never seen that." |

"It's something we've learned to do because of our environment," Kuristoph explained with enthusiasm. "Making broad fast movements under water is difficult, but short quick ones are easier," he continued moving forward towards Angeles before he sighed to release that anxiety that built up and stressed him out over performing for her like that. "I was nervous, but you gave me confidence moments ago with your words. So I wanted to do it while I still felt good about myself," he added, wanting to let her know that the dance was all because she made him feel good. It was, in a sorts, a dance in tribute to her. He wasn't saying that directly, but that was the implication. "I think I'm going to sit for a moment, I can still feel my knees being weak," he laughed as he moved towards the bed and sort of... fell into it on his back with his arms sprawled out. Kuristoph explained a bit about how the dance form had come about from his people, but then moved to explain that he had felt confident enough to dance only because of what ne had said to nem. Nir expression of awe fell to one of confusion and a little concern. Ne lifted a hand and rested it on his shoulder, then guided him to sit in the bed as he said his knees felt weak. Ne knelt then and moved to remove his scarves. "Thank you for showing me the dance," ne said with a smile, "rest a bit, it was beautiful but definitely looked taxing, it's probably easier to do in the water. I'll put these back in your bag." Ne smiled at Kuristoph and moved to put the scarves back, leaving him only with his jewelry. "It's interesting, the dance you did reminded me of the Chageshee, it's...," ne laughed, "to put it simply it's the Valkyrien courtship dance. I had thought for a moment that you had gotten the idea for it from that book," ne smiled, a bit nostalgically, then glared at the book accusingly. "Valkyrie often dance as a show of their physical skill. But the Chageshee is a proposal for marriage," ne smirked and moved back to where Kuristoph was laying and grabbed their doggy bags and moved them to the ice box, "it's arguably the most important dance a Valkyrie can perform in their lifetime, few get to do it more than once, though the hope is to do it only once." |

"That sounds like a very big deal," Kuristoph admitted, thinking about the relevance and how that moment could have been easily misunderstood as that. "Some Nokken dance to try to pursuade a female into being in the mood to accept a mate, but the funny thing is that the Nokken who may have gotten her ready may not be the one who succeeds. Another Nokken male could challenge him, or another sneak away with her. But dancing does have roots in attracting a partner sort of like Chageshee. But it's mostly done now as a form of art or expression," Kursitoph explained, wanting to give insight into it so that the similarities and differences of their cultures could be contrasted. "But I didn't get the idea from the book, no. I have not read but a couple paragraphs from it and I didn't even understand what I read," he admitted, not wanting her think he was trying to perform a dance of courtship. ...at least not to the level of her culture. He thinks. |

Angeles smirked at Kuristoph's terminology but agreed, "it's a very big deal. It's the moment where two people choose to become partners until the end of their days. It's instinct for us to mate for life, and while instinct is possible to ignore, it's very difficult to do so. Humans still fear the dark not because there are monsters lurking in it, but because their eyes are not made for darkness, and their eyes are their strongest sense. To go out into the dark is to handicap oneself and expose oneself to danger. So their bodies reacts with fear to the darkness, to prevent them from going out into it, and endangering themselves. But you do have those who go into the darkness because of necessity, despite their fear, and then you have those who have no fear of the dark whatsoever. But they are few, and fewer still, respectfully. "But breaking from a life partner is more than just ignoring instinct, it's also having to overcome society's stigma, tradition's laws. To overcome all those things makes you something of an abomination, something I thought I was given that I lacked interest, so it only made sense that I would not suffer an instinctual bond to whomever I chose to fornicate with. Now I don't think that's the case anymore." Ne chuckled, "I think yo have the easier life in that sense, to not have to worry about such attachments with whomever you lay with, just whomever you choose is worthy of your attachments, and dance for whomever you want, for the sake of wanting to, for art." Angeles stood from the ice box, opting to not get anything from it and instead sat on the edge of the bed next to where Kuristoph lay, admiring his form again with no small amount of heat in nir face, before resting on his eyes, "well, the book may very well be educational in that regard, so that you don't accidentally perform a Chageshee for someone who may just take you for a mate. I might have to duel them then." |

"I feel sorry for anyone who would have to duel you," Kristoph stated with a laugh, leaning up to look at Angeles. "But I will keep that in mind," Kristoph expressed, not wanting to create an awkward moment for anyone. "If it makes you feel better, the instincts my people feel about mating in a careless nature haven't triggered with anyone. I have a feeling any relationship I form will be a meaningful one," Kristoph tried to explain, realizingctgere was room for offense there. "I mean that the urge to breed and fight other males over a mate as my people do. I don't mean to say your not attractive enough and I wouldn't fight someone over you, just the instinctual part and...." Kristoph sighed in defeat unsure how to express himself properly without digging himself into a deeper hole. |

Angeles chuckled, "I'd feel sorry for anyone having to duel me as well. I play for keeps." Ne smirked as Kuristoph admitted that such feelings to have any fleeting relationship with someone had not yet arisen, and then quickly tried to correct himself, and stumbling over his words, until he sighed in self-defeat and Angeles chuckled, moving to lean in and kiss him lightly on the lips before resting nir brow on his. "Don't worry, it's complicated for me too." Ne lifted an arm to wrap around Kuristoph to encourage him to lay back down, with nem laying beside him, "I want it to be meaningful as well," ne whispered quietly, "that's why I want to see where this goes, if this grows to something more. We've known each other a full day and an evening and you've already shown a way to look at myself in a light I never saw. Maybe I can be so meaningful to you. Maybe we will just be friends, or maybe be as close as brothers, once emotions sort themselves out. I want to see what we become," ne smiled, "that you're willing to wait and see also means a lot to me. Thank you." |
