Well, you knew more than me. Staying the course pretty much wasn't an option when Libby was targeting me. In fact, even you didn't know Libby had been working with Claire to target Danielle. "The course" involved Libby, and without her desire to be a part of it, there was no "course" to stay. Turns out Claire wanted to protect Jack too, and if Libby really was with Claire, we might have only been able to force a tie if we wanted Jack gone. I still wish we had just voted out Claire. I really did see her as a quiet force to be reckoned with. |

We actually didn't target Danielle. I had quickly arrived on friendly terms with Libby, and in trying to find a way to save Jack and myself, approached her with the idea of a three-three deadlock vote (Check me on this, Juli/Libby, but was it me or you that came up with that? Brobst says you, but I thought it was me...either way...) We wanted Jack to be comfortable with this idea, so were going to let him name his target: Kate, Hurley or Danielle. We didn't hear back yes or no from Jack for a bit, but then he started asking if I was 100% Libby was on board, and was acting hesitant. While Libby was willing to even do a potential Purple Rock of Doom random pull, Jack was uncertain, especially since he had a prior vote cast against him. Jack then told Libby he wasn't going to be down for a forced tie, but he didn't tell me. Libby promptly informed me of this...just in time for me to receive a message from Jack saying he was still on board and who should we target? Heh. This point was where my serious mistrust of Jack began. At this time, Libby-gate was in full effect, she having chatted with Hurley about targeting you. I promptly told Hurley I was on board (just as Jack was telling Hurley about my plans to force a tie). So...Hurley, Dani, Libby and I were going to target you...but I had to still feed Jack a name for our "Forced Tie that Was Never Going to Happen." I picked the safest name: Danielle (when I should have said you). At this point, we were never going to write Danielle's name down, and I knew Jack was going to write my name down...even having given him several more times to come clean about him deceiving me about forcing a tie. |

Yeah, either way, Libby was long gone from "staying the course." You were safe unless Hurley came to me. Jack, Hurley, Danielle, and I could have voted off you or Libby (I'd have pushed for Libby obviously at that point), but I feel Hurley didn't want to rock the boat and I'm not so sure Danielle would have wanted to save me anyway. As for telling or not telling Jack, it was probably better not to tell him, because there's a chance he would have told me and I would have worked Hugo HARD in that case. In the end, not telling Jack hurt Libby, but telling Jack could have ruined the plan and hurt her even sooner. For Libby, I think the whole thing was just a bad move. For you, Claire, it was genius. |

That's EXACTLY why I didn't tell him...everything I told him ended up getting back to other people. I told him that yes, he would have likely gone home had he not been given immunity. He then went off on Hurley about that...although it appears he didn't mention that it was me that told him. Then he told Hurley about my "forced tie" plan. I couldn't put in words why I didn't want to tell Jack...but you just did. I think I was concerned he would tell you (and Hurley also cautioned me against telling Jack, to keep it between us four...so also didn't want it getting back to Hurley that I'd told Jack we were voting Kate). And at that point, I didn't want people thinking further about it...just wanted them to enact it if we lost the challenge. |

That is exactly why I didnt want to tell Jack. I think he would have told you, and just cause more problems. I didnt want anything even remotely coming my way. I still feel jack was a lost cause no matter what, he was flipping. I thought Juliet would definitely flip, and possibly Sawyer and Desmond too. I really dont think not telling Jack was that big of a deal, should we have told him, yes, was it the deciding factor in why we lost, no. A more interesting scenario, would have been if we won the challenge. Would Libby still be on the voting off Kate bandwagon? |

If we won the challenge, Hugo, would YOU still have gotten ON the voting off Kate bandwagon, if I was actively trying to help get us into the majority? |

At that point no, I would have pushed hard to go into the merge united. I was trying like crazy to win that challenge, knowing you were going home. I think Libby and maybe even Claire kinda wanted to see if the plan worked. |

Haha... yeah, I'm under the impression that Libby might have wanted to vote me out for the sake of making a big move. |
