Survivor Scores

It's that time again!

Here are the rules:

Snakes quoting me

Every TC, each player will receive between 2-5 points. If they are eliminated, I give them a fractional score based on the percentage of votes they did not receive. Their total score is just the average of all TCs they attended, and then multiplied by 20. As well, all players will receive a 0 for every post-merge TC that they missed; for example, if someone is voted off at F6, they will get a 0 for the remaining 4 TCs. The overall ranking at the end of the game will somewhat resemble the actual boot order, but there will probably be some differences.

For each individual TC, I will determine whether it is "interesting" or not. If there are 6 or more people voting and the vote is unanimous, I will call it uninteresting. If the vote eliminated someone that voted in the minority at the tribe's last eliminated TC, it is also uninteresting.

For uninteresting TCs, the scoring goes like this:

4 - They voted in the majority and received no votes.
3 - They either voted in the minority or received vote(s).

Any other TCs are interesting, and are scored like this:

5 - They voted in the majority and received no votes.
4 - They received in the majority and received one vote.
3 - They voted in the minority.
2 - They received 2 or more votes.

One slight change since #2016, the criteria for receiving a "2" and "3" post-merge has been switched. After the merge, voting in the minority in an interesting TC will score a "2" and receiving multiple votes will score a "3." This change was suggested by some spectators in #2016, but I've decided to apply it only to the post-merge, when players are more likely to be targeted for being "threats."

Here is the link to the entire list, and if you like the real show, have this. (spoilers for all past seasons)

Here's what we have so far:

The first round was an 8-2 vote for Taric, with Nautilus voting for Shaco. However, since Nautilus clarified that his vote was in case of Taric playing an idol, he still gets a "5." Should this vote still be counted as interesting, then, since it was effectively a unanimous decision to eliminate Taric? I don't know. But in the past, I haven't counted any split votes as unanimous, so I won't count this one. Also, if I counted this boot as unanimous, I would have to consider whether Darnell's boot in Kaoh Rong, or Shirin's boot in Cambodia would also count. This vote isn't as interesting as either of those, but it still established something: Shaco is not valued, at least by Nautilus, and if anyone other than Taric would have to go, it would be Shaco.

The second round was a quit, which I've historically counted as an uninteresting TC for the quitter's entire tribe. It's a bit strange that Bilgewater didn't even HAVE a TC, and Bandle City did; however, I can't score a TC that didn't actually happen, and Bilgewater deserves some credit for outlasting Ashe.

The third round was a 5-1 vote, and while it might have been fun to watch, it has to count as uninteresting in a technical sense.

The unanimous rule doesn't apply in TCs with 5 or fewer players, so we get an interesting vote.

While this vote is technically counted as the "interesting" one, I would bet the Quinn vote was the one that was actually decisive. But I still haven't read confessionals, so I don't know much!

Needs Zilean's quit, whichI assume doesn't count as anything, or does it?

Zilean's quit counts as an uninteresting TC for Piltover.

Shen is correct. The other members of Piltover will each score a "4" for the quit, just like Ashe's quit. I'll post the scoreboard as soon as this TC is over.

I'm surprised I didn't notice Zilean's quit until now, although Ionia is the only tribe I've really read at all so far. This situation stinks but this is a game after all, and I think a player has a right to quit if they are not having fun. Then again, I'm also aggressively pro-mod in nearly any situation; I know how difficult it is to make a good game that all the players will enjoy. I haven't paid enough attention to this game to have any judgment other than "This board looks beautiful" but any judgment I could make would be useless, anyhow. Besides, the success of a game is about 80% up to the players, and so I hope the rest of the game goes as smoothly and as excitingly as possible. :)

Well, that vote was guaranteed to be interesting no matter what, but that definitely was a unique TC regardless:

1. The Bilgewaters all targeted each other, despite having a 3-2 majority on the surface. I'll have to read up to find out why they didn't make the obvious choice.

2. Jinx was blindsided with an idol, joining an elusive club. Off the top of my head:

-Joker
-Samara
-Valley Girl
-Robyn
-Radiohead
-Elizabeth Warren

I'm sure there must be some others I'm missing or unaware of.
