![]() Michael Morhaime: Hello and Welcome, my name is Michael Morhaime and I am here today with Overwatch legend and British lovely, Lena Oxton a.k.a. Tracer. Hello Lena, how are you feeling right now? Tracer: Please, call me Tracer and I'm fabulous Michael, thank you for asking. Michael: I see you have dropped your accent. Tracer: Haha well, eventually you reach a point where such things aren't needed anymore. Michael: And you feel you have reached that point? Tracer: Michael... in Survivor you can never drop your guard til it's over but I'm not here to be defensive anymore or to cower from my enemies, I'm here to show the world just how badass Tracer can be. Michael: We will have to censor that but I think we get the picture. Although most would have taken you for the lovable type. Tracer: I'm going to rant to you for a moment. Michael: Please do. Tracer: Being lovable is a quality that anyone can do. Going through survivor, there is a wide mixture of personalities that emerge but the most common ones to reach the end are both amiable and endearing. This who I am normally. Sure, I'd like to thing I'm a nice person and I wouldn't ever deliberately hurt anyone but in this game... just the simple nature... of this game. You can't get anywhere without exaggerating a personality and being willing to hurt those who trust you. I saw how people were winning and I just copied them, plain and simple. Michael: So you are saying you faked your way here. Tracer: Everyone fakes their way here but yes, I had to put on a face at times. Michael: And is this the only reason you reached the end? Tracer: Oh heavens no haha! The mantra of outplaying/outsmarting/outlasting is true, you can't just be personable... you have to know when and where to choose sides. I can summarize my gameplay in a simple GIF. GamePlay Gif Michael: Hmm... I can't say I follow. Tracer: You are just overthinking it. So as Tracer, she is able to blink back and forth making her a difficult target and very mobile. This is exactly how I played the game. Michael: Can you share and examples? Tracer: Ha! We might be here a while but I'll point out some of the bigger ones. ![]() Rend was blindsided during my time on the Alliance Tribe. I was fairly quite that round as I didn't want to make a big scene just yet. Rend had allied with me as we were the "loners" of the tribe. I also knew that Rend was a very strong player so I explained to Soldier/Symmetra/Abathur my worry of him having an idol while trying to maintain a good connection with him (playing both sides). ![]() After his elimination, I jumped to the Horde and made friends with Valla and reconnected with Azmodan while trying to stay on decent terms with Soldier/Abathur (still playing both sides). ![]() I knew going forward that pressure was going to be on Soldier and his crew so I never wanted to commit to them completely. As the game went on, I found myself in the middle of several different alliances and while I'm sure Soldier knew he couldn't trust me for sure, he also didn't have a choice but to keep me in the loop. It was dangerous for him and Symmetra while I had my core alliance with Valla/Ysera/Azmodan. Michael: Fascinating. Who would you say made the biggest impact on you then? Tracer: That is a very unfair question because there are so many good players here that I had to work around but the easiest answer seems to be Ysera. ![]() Ysera was a player who had "taken me under her wing." We had joked constantly about how I needed her protection and she replaced the void left behind from Rend. I trusted her more then I should have but because of the pressure put on from the other merge members, I knew I couldn't take her to the end. Ysera had too many friends at this point and while I was lying to people and sending them out the door, Ysera was making friends with them and seemed untouchable. Michael: Explain what happened that round that Ysera left. Tracer: In order to explain that round, I need to backtrack to Final 6. There was talk about blindsiding Ysera and it was that point that I realized Karass wasn't going to do it. I believed Karass was honest about our Final 3 deal but I think he wanted to get there with Ysera instead of Azmodan. So I leaked the blindside to Ysera... something that probably had already happened from Lor or Karass while we all voted Ty instead. Azy was insistent on trying to get rid of Ysera but I managed to convince him to drop it. I knew I had the vote nullfier and I wanted to see if Ysera had any more tricks up her sleeve. Granted, I wasn't expecting yet another Idol... Michael: So you baited her? Tracer: Maybe. Only she knows why she played that idol on 6 instead of 5 but I did make sure she knew she was in danger so that on 5, me and Azy could eliminate who we wanted. Karass had no reason to go to rocks just to save Ysera and me getting immunity that round didn't hurt. Michael: Well, we are running out of time. I thank you for a deeper look into the mind of Tracer. Is there any parting words you would like to give before we allow the Jury in? Tracer: Hmm... Nexus Jury. I'm a bad person, at least... I feel like I'm a bad person. I lied to multiple people throughout the game as they were going out the door and giving them false hope. I never hesitated to vote out who was needed while hiding behind the cheerful laugh of Tracer. But worst of all, I didn't value some of the friendships that were being made and instead tried to take advantage of them. I played this game hard... and I'm still processing if I played it wrong. I don't believe that I am wrong in what wins Survivor. Fake it til you make it should be everyone's philosophy if you want to win but I don't want that to be the meta. I know that sorta contradicts my reason for why I should win but winning doesn't seem worth it if you feel bad afterwards. Anyways, I look forward to the questions. Michael: Splendid. Thank you again Tracer. We will close with this GIF given to us by Tracer and then I turn it over to you Mods.

Hmm.... Ysera is... not shadow? Jeeze... I can't tell lol. For one, the first post comes off as something Shadow would say. It's all about me! But the other posts seem to be too... patient and nice. |

Because I'm not good at winning things, I'm gonna assume Karass takes this one. Ty/Valla/Ysera/Lor all had connections to him. Winston probably doesn't care for me or Azy. Soldier/Sym are up in the air although maybe I can get Sym after her response to my opening statement. I think I can only hope to get Sol/Sym/Ysera/Valla. |

Seems like I am more likely to get Soldier's vote then Azy will. I just need 1 more to not get 3rd and 2 more to potentially win. Who are those other 2? Symmetra? Valla? I guess it's easier to say who I won't get votes from. I won't get Winston and it doesn't feel like I can get Lor's or even Ysera. This is pretty unpredictable right now. |
