Because faking shit is a thing that has never happened.

I feel like people need to start forging conversations more.

No it says you can and should archive stuff in the rules.

Ok based on these responses I obviously didn't communicate clearly.

I think the purpose behind this setup was to make a forum game that's closer to the way the show works, and I think in that it's largely succeeded. However this business with recording conversations in confessional threads (don't care about the ruleset) seems contrary to that. This isn't widm, you don't have players constantly taking notes about who was with who at any given time or logs of what everyone said. This particular aspect imo takes away from the game.

The problem with having few swaps is that it doesn't work in big games. You can't have a 24 player game with only one swap without potential for really small tribes. I don't like games with tons of swaps, but there's no doubt that we need some relatively "pure" and "vanilla" games.

Site design has just been moving towards the biggest and craziest twists possible. That's good to have from time to time, but there also need to be games like PSV thrown in somewhat frequently.
Yeah this.

16-20 player games with 1 swap every 2-3 games would be cool.

Maybe I could make one.

In principal I agree with you but is it really that different than saying "oh X person said Y?"

I'm talking about confessionals and you're talking about public threads.

Where am I losing you here.

No I get what you're saying, I just meant that right now, most people in the community seem to believe that without a swap every 3-4 rounds at maximum, pagongings are very likely to happen. For that perception to be shaken, someone just has to run a simple game with minimal swaps and still have a merge that isn't boring :P

I agree with Scot. We probably should have made it against the rules to quote extensive parts of conversations with other players in their confessionals, although it's hard to draw the line for what counts as too much note-taking. I'm putting that in the suggestion box for medevac #3

if people are banned from archiving stuff in confessional they could do it in a google doc or something. it's just "x said y", yeah. this is still an internet game and it will be different.

it's just like committing conversations to memory in the real show, except because it's the internet "memory" is just written down. this is a written format.

wasn't MLS a game with no swaps and an interesting merge?
