John/Penner could happen and is what I've been predicting, but it requires John to basically never spend for immunity again. Which I think he should do since no one wants him out til F3, but he has to figure that himself. |

I do hate the 'how dare you imply I'm not sincere, I'm such a nice person' argument when the argument is "You are TOO NICE TO KEEP." It's like watching how cult leaders work isn't it? |

Why does he think being told he's not playing a big enough game to beat Julia means people will want to vote him out? Seems to me more like a reason why he'd be safe |

I think in this case, T-Bird read Penner wrong. T-Bird is saying to Penner what he hopes people would tell T-Bird if he were reading the game wrong. However, the best approach to convince Penner would be in PMs or a private chat. Unless T-Bird gets a private chat with Penner (which isn't happening this round unfortunately with all the cheap chat bids), she's going to have a hard time getting Penner to do what's best for both of them. I think it's entirely possible, but half of the message is the content, the other half is the delivery. I think T-Bird already knows that he only succeeded in half of it. I think the limitation of communication makes it very difficult. In other games, PMs are possible, but the listener might not be willing to listen. In this game, I think half of it is that people may be willing to listen, but there's just no opportunity this late in the game to have a space for equitable listening. Penner's the type that could appreciate tough love, but with a gentler, more fondling hand than a tight grip. |

I don't think penner flipping here is what's best for both of them though. I do agree that T-Bird should have tried a different approach, but I think Penner's perfectly justified staying with his alliance here, as long as he tries to not face Julia. Just a couple of minutes until we get the beautiful reaction faces after T-bird wins immunity. |

It's interesting how people are built up into threats or non-threats based more on perception than actual action. For example I think I'd play like Penner is playing in many ways (a mostly loyal game) and yet people thought I was a scary threat. Everyone was afraid of Eddie but he really didn't even know what was going on in the game. I'm not even sure if there's anything at all Penner can do at this point to win these people's respect, but even if he can't do that, he can at least try to get to a F2 with John. |

Oh god, Cydney's chat bid forced Julia and T-Bird to be together. I can't wait to see what happens. |
