Alright, let's get the ball rolling on this one, I want to win this time around. First things first: Regardless of what else you do, put at least 1 soldier into each fortress. I think there's a pretty good chance someone on the enemy tribe is going to hold back all their soldiers to claim the reward, and putting at least one soldier into everything guarantees an outright win over such a player. Anyway, the first strategy that comes to my mind for my soldier placement is something of a high/low grouping. Put next to nothing in a few of the strongholds, and divide the vast majority of your troops evenly across the remainder. For instance, something like 150 troops in six of the strongholds, and 25 troops in the remaining four. The other idea that comes to mind for me is utilizing WIFOM. Since you need to win more than five strongholds on average, I think it's unlikely that people will be putting more than 200 soldiers into any specific stronghold. With that in mind, an anti-meta strategy could be to put 205 soldiers into four strongholds, and 30 into the remaining six. Against my other strategy, this is guaranteed to take at least four strongholds (so it will never lose too badly), and six on average, and potentially up to eight if I'm lucky. So yeah, that's what I've come up with so far, but I'm having a hard time judging the relative merits of my ideas, since everything can be hard-countered by something, and this is very much a WIFOM-heavy challenge. Any thoughts? |

I'll be doing something similar to Soldier's distribution as well, but going with 12 soldiers as the max (instead of 15) and putting a bit more in the 'give-up' sections. |

the strongest play here is to find three strong strats, with two people taking each mirrored. we should win strong with one, a bit above average on one and lose a bit on the third which adds up to a win overall. |

I'll be online until deadline, so if you think I should change, I will. This sort of game isn't my forte. ^^; |

Do we want to just guess a number close to 500, like 489 or something? I doubt they're holding that many back and I can't see a reason for them to put more or less than half on A-E |

Isnt 600 the amount of troops they have overall? So something like 350 would be better? |

Slight modification to this, 14 on the remaining six, not 15. Original submission added up to 106. (It was just a typo and definitely not a mistake. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)
