Don't take ANY of this as offence, i am heavily critiquing this in order for your success.

the hit-boxes for the floors are VERY patchy. also, i don't like how you can hold down jump.
The game maintains a Zelda-esque feel, but it is lost when the game is soaked with glitches.
after a while, i felt like I was playing simons quest, the part with the holy water.
(if you don't know what that is, its a level in Castlevania 2 that lets the player drop down through most panels if they're not throwing holy water.)
The games graphics are wonderful, but i would be least concerned about that now.

I'd say the code for animation and game-play should be your top priority as of now.
If you look closley when you stand still, the animation loop for the character is choppy. as soon as her hands turn around, they shoot twords the other direction.
this is just a turn-off, IMO.
I can't really explain this, but i'll try my best.

Walking cycle:

When a character walks, they don't move their legs at the same speed and frolic on.
their legs shoot up, stay up for a slight moment, they ease down. as they reach standing position, they shoot back and the process is mirrored.
in this case, they walking cycle's speed is maintained. that is also an aesthetic turn-off.

Body animation:

for some reason the arms dont look right when swinging. try easing the animation in and out.
Also, her scarf when running is doing backflips off a handel. I suggest easing up on the bounce-effect.

That's all I have for now. Other than that, the game looks great, and if it weren't for the collision glitches it would play great too.
the game needs improvement, and I understand this is in a heavy beta. But take my critique into consideration, I believe it would help!

So I ran the demo!
Despite all of the collision and gravity issues listed above, the graphics are phenomenal and it runs quite nice! Can't wait to see a demo of a more complete part of the game!

Thanks for the input. I'll take care of the animation issues at a later point, since they aren't as important as gameplay and levels at the moment. Concerning the collisions, I had just forgotten to.

I've resolved the issue with being able to hold the jump button and keep jumping (By adding a single word to the code, no less), and now I've got an issue with jumping while stationary; if you try to move, you'll go in a single direction regardless of the direction you actually pressed. Bah!

Aye. Doing so will also get me air control while jumping.

In other news I've updated the character presentation design:

I've also started working on the other three areas of Gran Forest. The one I gave you goes from the city of Highmill to the area's central landmark. These lead to Estelle Lake, The Wysteria, and Mount Gran.

Me too; then I wouldn't have to expend the effort to make them so. (What size?)

Odd; I followed the link on that post and it said it was denied. It should be working now, though; try it again.
