As someone who rocked Tekken is the arcades, every Soul Caliber game he ever touched, every Street Fighter aside from the Alpha series, and most importantly the VS. series, I know what is a good fighting game and what is not a good fighting game. So, after reading a bit, I notice Elecrai saying "SMASH BRODERZ IS TEH SUCK" When Smash brothers is an extremely genre savy fighting game that breaks away from the traditional concept, I for one found that Smash Brothers is best enjoyed as a game, and nothing more. You don't need to get up in arms about it. As for layout of the stages, again, Soul Caliber did this well by making the stages traditional with a few extra elements, and having this come over in 2D wouldn't be impossible. The focus of the game is on combos I think? That's good, but every character should have something interesting about them to make playing the game a bit different. I mean significantly different, but not imbalanced (For example a rage meter on some characters, characters that have reflective guards, etc.) |
