Happiness is like wetting yourself, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

I wish I had an image to successfully display how hard I facepalm'd at that statement.

*sigh*... look the shinyness is ok IF you put it in the right places

also you should really try listening to people when they critique you
(btw part of listening to people critique you is actually trying what they say, Just Say'n)

shininess makes things change texture, they seem more rubbery and fake

Don't worry, I can fix your drawing for you!

There. NOW it's art.

In all seriousness, removing the shines from the character altogether and leaving the image how it currently is otherwise is probably what everyone is asking to see. I tried it myself, and it does make the image look far more "solid", for lack of a better word (I didn't post the edit because I expected you'd prefer to do it yourself). I did notice that the shine on the headband seems to fit well, probably because of how it forms more like a reverse shadow (which you might feel like adding; reverse shadows (I'm making that term up, it's probably wrong) showing an area where more light is appearing on the object is fine, just make sure it fits onto the shape in a similar way to a shadow rather than just being a blob of light) and how rigid it is, making the hairband look more metallic (whether or not you intended that I don't know). As previously mentioned, the current shines you have elsewhere on your image make everything look gelatin-like and rubbery. If she's wearing rubber clothing and her hair is made of ConcentratedJuice's blue twin brother, then everything's in order here.

PS: I mean no malice in this post, I'm just trying to help. I understand if I'm not the best person to be taking advice from in this field, since my art skills are inferior to yours and I rarely shade my drawings, but at least look over what I've said and see what makes sense to you.
