Hey-yo! I've decided to make an album since I've (surprisingly) never done that. (Soundtracks don't count I think)
It will feature 6-8 "alternative D&B" styled songs. (Is that a genre? Haha)

Check out the song(s) below!

*I'll put the cover art here sometime - the title of the album is "Till Dawn"*
Songs

More will come soon!
cheers, guys!

the composition is p great, but mixing needs serious work
1. its quiet (compare it to songs by any modern artist and you'll be like WHOAH)
2. your synths are almost inaudible which really takes movement out of the piece
3. the strings are overpowering

That should be an easy fix! Thanks.

hmm, I'm not quite sure about this...
1. it's not VERY quiet. sure, it's not loud, but it may be louder/softer depending on speakers and headphones.
2. I think they're fine. Sometimes it sounds a bit out, but it's not a bother.
3. I'm actually surprised you said this, because I thought they were at perfect volume. when you have few instruments, it's good to amplify them at the right volume. any lower and you would only hear the square and the drums!

Not bashing you or anything, just saying I simply disagree~

That only complicates what to fix... D:
I do agree on the volume, though - I forgot to turn the dB up when exporting; if it's too high in programme it breaks up, which of course can become incredibly annoying.

Okay, I updated it and hopefully fixed it. It's also now three times smaller!
And I couldn't amplify it too much without clipping, sorry. I did it as much as I could.

it's a thousand times better, though still quiet
and this is why the mixer exists

apply fruity limiter to the master track and clipping will be p much nonexistent, although you may have to mess with it. its recommended to do this minimally.
most songs are VERY farksnarkleING LOUD compared to classical music and it's hard to get this volume without clipping. fl studio kinda does a mediocre job demonstrating the fact that it's actually very good at preventing clipping because its default is to set audio processing to a sustainable minimum, which is good for the extensive processing that's required for making music. So long as the dB visualizers aren't red, you're not clipping.
i'm honestly not an expert so i can only offer so much but i'm p sure i know what i'm talking about. reading the manual for the program really helps :V

Ah, this is wonderful! I'm with MK on that it's quiet, though. I put in my headphones, not realizing my speakers were at max volume. Normally, that would have blasted my eardrums out. But even at 100, it wasn't particularly ear-piercing. But I can't find anything wrong with the song itself. I love it

Thanks, guys. I can't seem to make it louder without clipping, though. :/
I've tried half a dozen tutorials, different ways to export (using fruity limiter, too), and Audacity but to no avail. I don't know how others do it - the waveform goes all the way to the peaks at the climax of the song from nearly nothing - so the volume variance doesn't help. I'll keep trying, but I can't guarantee I'll get any results. :(
Sorry.

don't worry about it, its going to take some research to figure it out

edit; i just realized that using the beats audio enhancers on my laptop cause distortion
the song's p farksnarkleing great, especially without the beats for some reason :0
