My first dubstep album under the alias, Martyr, has been released on my SoundCloud.

Artwork

This album is a bit different because I don't normally stray away from my electronic/orchestra comfort zone. I hope you guys enjoy it.
All synths made by hand in NI Massive if you wondered.

And yeah - I am aware all of the songs are close to the same length. Oh well.

To me, "Liftoff" and "Landing" don't really sound like Dubstep so much as they do just plain Techno.

Other than that sound good to me.

Liftoff: Very nice. reminds me of Linkin Park's "Burn It Down" for some reason.
Frantic Desert Strife: Neat. Like the Arabic feel. Could use a little more variety, though.
Grime: Alright. Sounds a bit generic, but whatever.
Landing: My favourite one - very nice.

Confession-- In general, I don't like dubstep. I guess the whole booming drums thing is more appealing to other people than it is to me. So generally whenever the drums come in I stop liking the song, which means I'm going in expecting a negative reaction.

Grime is really great-- it's probably my favorite track here. The WUB WUB WUB fits in with the rest of the synth tone, the riff is really cool and pretty memorable (IN MY OPINION AT LEAST).

Frantic Desert Strike was pretty nice too I guess-- the plucky instrument parts sounded really nice. But some parts don't fit at all-- the **WACKY SYNTH ARPEGGIO** at 0:45 is really distracting.

Liftoff has a nice start, but it feels like you took one of your Postal Service/Owl City/whatever-style tracks and layered some WUB WUB WUB on top of it.

Oh, and Landing sounds really nice.

So yeah-- pretty solid.
I know I'm not the first choice for heroics...and y'all've tried to kill me more than once. And, I don't fancy a single one of you at all. But... Actually, all that sounds pretty convincing. I wonder if Danger Mouse is on.

Liftoff - i dont like the sudden break away 0.45. 1.30-1.45 is really messy.
FDS - The mixing could be improved on this, to give it a bit more of a kick. Try boosting the low ends of the mix when you have a kick. clean up the mix so you don't have something going on at all times, and this will sound a lot better.
Grime - The drums dont really fit the melody. Which is repetitive. Stop using that same buildup god damn. The wubs melody on this song is great. The drum solo at 1.21 is kind of boring, it being the drumline, solo. the crashes are kind of messy. i like the outro sound.
Landing - nice trance plucks. I can feel the inspiration in this one. The melody isn't repetitive! or, not terribly. AUGH 1.24. I came.
Overall, not bad. Mixing needs work. Love the synths in these. The musicality could be improved on - study your orchestration. Could be more original - stop using that rise! If you make a new one for every song you'll get better at it. Not that that rise isn't good, i like it. It just gets old. None of these songs feel complete. The way they end they feel like they're previews. It feels like you still have ideas to put in to these. Study cadences. Keep producing, brother. You're getting good :]
