The Deyang Standard Time to Revitalise the Economy says President Jeng Rou The President, Jeng Rou, has said that it's time for Deyang to revitalise it's economy. She said the nations primary competitor was the number of cheap workers available in other nations. She also told any foreign high-skilled workers wishing to come to the nation to do so and said that she welcomes them with open arms. The economy has been in a slump for the past 2 years and recently the President said she'd had enough and decided to take major actions. The Legislative Council will meet tomorrow where it's 25 members plus the President and Governor will debate on how to help the economy. Edited by SatanLord, Sep 15 2016, 01:30 PM.

The Deyang Standard ![]() Deyang Best Place in Terra to do Business says Survey According to a recent poll of businesses Deyang is the best place in the world to do business. The survey shows the countries openness to companies even though it's in an economic downturn of sorts. The number of businesses moving in from across Terra will hopefully rise once the Terran Economic Forum is over. Many businesses have been pushing for trade deals with nations like Stellatoria and it is hoped the Government will succeed in this. 86% of businesses surveyed also said they believe the economy will go back to high growth in the next quarter with 98% of those surveyed believing the economy will grow even if it's at a slow pace. |

The Deyang Standard Government Wants to Enlarge Legislative Council Today the Government announced plans to enlarge the legislature to 100 members. This came after a recent poll found a growing number of Deyang residents were unhappy with the current system. Many have called for change and end to the United Action Party's grip on power. The Democratic Party has been gaining support recently with massive rallies including one attended by almost 200,000 people. The Government has launched massive campaigns against them using public funds causing outrage and leading for some to call for a snap election. However with new Council members due to be elected soon it is hoped that the government can get the law passed quickly and bring about a new era of democracy. |

The Deyang Standard ![]() Government 'Seriously Considering' LGBT legalisation Today a Government statement said that they are 'Seriously Considering' the legalisation of acts classed as LGBT. This would include the legalisation of same-sex relationships. The Government is however maintaining it's stance that marriage is between a man and a woman and that marriage can only take place in a religious place of worship. Deyang has the lowest number of married persons per capita due to the fact that the Government has no official recognition of marriages not performed by a religious group. This means that LGBT couples who's marriage would not be accepted by religious groups will not be able to get married. A spokesperson for LGBT Deyang said that they will continue to petition for marriage to be able to be performed in a civil ceremony but the Government has repeatedly said no due to the fact that it would cost money to hire these people. We asked passers by on the street on their thoughts and most said they support the legalisation of LGBT acts however they do not believe the taxpayer should have to pay for these people to get married. |
