WWYD 500
~ Immunity Challenge #5 ~
<quote>
How It Works
<quote>This game players will be posting in the special WWYD 500 topic that will be posted at the below date/time on this board. Players will receive points for their team based off the criteria posted below in this topic. The teams with the most points at the end of the topic win. </quote>
Rules
<quote>
*
Each player is allowed to post 3 times per phase. With the exception that a phase exceeds 24 hours, in which this restriction will be removed until the next phase begins.
*
Any posts exceeding the 3 post limit will result in your team taking a 5 point penalty and your post will be invalid and not count or effect anything in the current phase.
*
You are forbidden from editing or deleting your posts in the game topic. Doing so will result in your team becoming disqualified from this competition. </quote>
Phases
<quote>Spell EPIC (Posts 2-100): The goal is to spell the word EPIC out over 4 posts in a row, posting 1 letter at a time. Any players that contribute to spelling the word out (don't need to be on the same team) will receive 25 points for each letter they posted for the word. 1 Word Story(Posts 101-200): The goal is to continue the on going story 1 word at a time without messing up the story. Players will start by posting a word and continuing the previous story by adding 1 word to the previous post. 1 Point will be rewarded for every word in the story you successfully continue. If you mess up the ongoing story your team will lose however many points the previous story was currently at and at least 1 point. Anyone can then start a new story by posting a new word. Same Time Post (Posts 201-300): Players will attempt to get same time posts with the other players (don't need to be on the same team). If 2 players get a same time post they will receive 10 points each to go towards their team. Each additional player on a same time post will receive an additional 10 points each. (3 player same time post = 20 points for each player) (5 player same time post = 40 points for each player). If a same time post that starts at post 300 or below overlaps into the next round it will count for all players and no penalties will be given, these overlapped posts will not count towards the next round. Guess the Next Poster (Posts 301-400): Players attempt to guess the next poster, then offer a guess of their own. If the person the player said would be the next poster posts then both players receive 10 points. In order for a post to be valid you must state the FULL username for the next poster. (no nicknames/abbreviations) Hurt/Heal(Posts 401-500): The remainder of the topic will turn into a Heal/Hurt topic. Players are required to hurt 1 & heal 1 other team. You are not allowed to target your own team. Each team will start at 50 points, however many points each team has at the end of the round will be added to the teams total. </quote>
Tiebreaker Rules
<quote>1. The team that had the player with the last post wins. If the last post is a same time post it will be the last post among the teams involved in the same time post.</quote>
How to Submit
<quote>Private Message: M0NSTER_</quote>
Topic Will Start In
<quote>Monday 7:00 AM ET
Countdown Clock:
https://goo.gl/ExGaWr</quote></quote> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Competition Ideas Thinking we should go with a different theme or what players should do every 50 posts. Also we need to limit players from posting to ensure it doesn't hit 500 to quickly. Note we have 63 players during this comp. Methods to prevent the topic from flooding Players from the same team are not allowed to post more then twice in a row without receiving a penalty. Players are restricted to a set # of posts every hour (maybe a pain to track) Players are restricted to a set # of posts every round as listed below, maybe set the limit to 2 post per round? Round Suggestions 2-50: Players attempt to spell EPIC out over 4 posts in a row. Any players that are apart of spelling the word out (don't need to be on the same team) will receive 25 points each for their team. 51=100: 1 word story Players work together to write out a story, when continuing the story you copy the previous story and add 1 word to it. Maybe give 1 point for every successful time adding onto the story. -x points x being how many words were in the story when you messed it up. 101=150: Same Time Post, points awarded for players that get same time posts. The more people on the same time post maybe include a multiplier (3 people 3* the points, 4 people 4* the points) etc 151=200: Guess the Next Poster, Players attempt to guess the next poster, then offer a guess of their own. If the person the player said would be the next poster posts then that person receives points. 201=250: Hurt/Heal Players can hurt/heal other teams. Must hurt 1 & heal 1 other team, not allowed to self target. 251=300: 301=350: 351=400: 401=450: 451=500: For 2nd half of topic maybe just cycle through the first 5 rounds again. Being that this is still in the 7 team phase, likely there will still be some inactives kicking around who didn't get dropped during the initial phase (maybe being on winning teams, etc). So if we set something up where a small number of really active players can carry their teams, that would be unfortunate. I like a restriction on posting by round, as saying someone can only post once every hour could still get them enough activity from a small number of players to beat a team full of moderately active players. With the posting restriction per round though, having 63 players and 50 posts per round, 1 per round is too few as we may get stuck not completing a round, but 2 per round seems like it may be quite a bit (since a round could be completed with only 25/63 participants, so it isn't about who is active, but who is most active in that scenario). If we went with 100 post rounds though, we could do 3 posts per round, so it would take 34 players at minimum to fill a round, and gives time for more, while also being enough that we are unlikely to have to be waiting on the last player or two to come online to complete a round. This kinda works since you have ideas on 5 rounds, so instead of recycling the same rounds for 6-10, we just do them as the 5 100 post rounds, and then both sides of it kinda work out. As for the round ideas themselves, they look good. Many will involve banking on activity, and all seem good in concept, so as long as we are careful about how we balance them (how many points each criteria in each round is worth), then they should work out. |

Okay yeah I like the balance of 100 posts per round / 3 posts per player. |
